We stayed at the Imperial for three nights prior to a river cruise. We upgraded to a larger room and loved it. The room was somewhat dark, but I've come to expect that in European hotels. The room had a king bed, sitting area, built in cupboard/closet, and a desk. It also had a huge bathroom with separate tub and shower along with a separate half bath (toilet and sink) as you entered the room.

Service was outstanding from the moment we checked in until we checked out. Convenient location for shopping, train station, hoho bus, etc.

The Imperial is located on the periphery of the old town, close to everything. The hotel is far less spacious than its near neighbours, the Hilton and the Marriott, and doesn't have the facilities, bells and whistles you come to expect with them. It makes up for this by possessing old world charm, personality and being decoratively spectacular. Our room was on the 4th floor, light and airy good views and extremely comfortable. The decor was quite luxurious, and the bathroom, although small was a marble sensation. (Note; the bath was raised and stepping in and out quite dodgy, especially on a wet floor!)
The rate includes American breakfast which helps the budget, sets you up for the day and although a tad samey, was of excellent quality. The staff were always on hand, friendly and highly efficient.
The restaurant is an Art Deco marvel open to the public. for all meals including breakfast, and residents do not have priority. Not surprisingly given the value and uniqueness of the decor it is highly popular. Tables are close together and there is a sense of overcrowding, but the food is good. You have to book for dinner, and to be fair the hotel make this clear in their literature.
WiFi was free and very strong, no communication problems or signal dropout - brilliant!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and cannot speak highly enough of the experience, and the cheerful positive, helpful attitude of all the staff.
Thank you Imperial for a very pleasant stay in Prague.

My wife and I stayed here for four nights and were very satisfied with the hotel. The room was a decent size, clean, comfortable and had a nice bathroom. The breakfast was also nice and had most of what you expect to find at a good hotel buffet. The reception was also very polite and helpful, I particular they assisted me with sending faxes and scanning documents to send back home. Only a 5 minute stroll to the old square. Would recommend this hotel.

We had a 3 night break here in mid April 2013. The executive room was spacious and very clean. The bed was comfortable and the decor very in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The bathrooms were a marble extravaganza!
The location of this hotel is superb. We could walk to everything in a matter of minutes and if we wanted to go further afield such as the palace, the hotel taxi was excellent and less expensive than the town taxi.
The food at the 'cafe' was excellent. We had dinner one night and the food was superb! Breakfast each day was very good but they totally shut down at 10.30 so don't do a last minute 10.25 pop into breakfast!
All in all, a fantastic hotel in a superb location!
By the way, Prague is one of the finest cities in the world!!

I chose this hotel as my mates were into Art Deco. They were impressed with the hotel's restaurant, to say the least. Breakfast came with the room rates, and was always more than satisfactory. Note though that the decor of the restaurant attracts heaps of tourists, and it is difficult to get in for the lunch menu.
The service is this hotel is outstanding, and I can't begin to start praising all they did to help us out (my mates lost a bag in a bus on the way to the hotel). They were also very keen to showing us how to get to places we wanted to go, and to help with other reservations.
The bathroom is in marble and the floor is heated. The rooms face out to the street, but I reckon the windows were sound-proofed as I never heard the trolleys nor the buses outside. Furthermore the hotel is centrally located, and I walked everywhere. However the subway and above-ground train stop are only about 200 metres away. Plus the hotel is right next door to the big Palladium shopping mall. Definitely will stay here if I get back to Prague.

As a couple used to staying in Premier Inns and Hilton's in UK we found this hotel to be pleasantly different. The attention to detail in the decor was a refreshing change and you could tell great effort had been put into all areas of the hotel. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet.

Breakfast on a morning was good with a great selection of food, particularly the pastries. I read that another review that said they had been charged for cappuccino, however my wife was offered hot chocolate every morning without extra charge.

Location was excellent within walking distance of all the main attractions.

The hotel restaurant looked reasonably priced and there were other restaurants nearby notably Coliseum along the street great prices for pizza and pasta.

The Imperial hotel is two short blocks to Namesti Republicky, a main square that includes the must-see, art nouveau-styled Municipal House, the Powder Tower (gateway to the Old Town) and helpful tram connections. The decor is interesting though less elegant than the starker, true art deco feel of, say, the Hotel Britiannia in Lisbon, but it's cool! Our triple room was huge and in addition to the main bathroom, had an extra toilet room. It was quiet and impeccably clean, with cozy robes, comfortable beds and attractive furniture. The Concierge desk is staffed by friendly, competent English-speakers who did a great job getting us tickets and a Kutna Hora tour. It was an excellent hotel experience overall. I agree with prior reviewers that this probably would not be a five-star in some larger European capitals, but we thought it was terrific. And a value.

We had both breakfasts and a dinner in the dining room, which are two very separate events. The breakfast has lots of options, not outstanding but they fill you up without much fuss. Coffee was always lukewarm. Dinner involves traditional Czech offerings from the kitchen of a famous chef who has a TV program much like Gordon Ramsay's where he goes around reviewing other restaurants and helping them modify their menu to improve their offerings and business. The food was quite good, and nicely presented, though several entrees ordered by my group had a bit of an odd sweetness to them. In the rush to drink Czech beer, which really is cheaper than water, do not forget to sample Czech wines. They are really excellent and the Imperial had some good offerings. The ceramic friezes in the dining room and the hotel lobby are really something else. We just loved them, so unusual. All in all, a really great experience at this hotel.
