This Hotel is a gem.
The rooms greet you with a door that is about 12 feet high! Inside is a beautiful room & oh so comfy bed. The Bath is all marble & has a tub & shower stall (our shower leaked some on the floor & we told the staff)
The Bed & Linens were wonderful & I slept like a baby.
Plenty of closed space & huge windows.
The staff was very friendly & helpful. All spoke English. There was also a bar that all our friends would meet in at the end of a long day of shopping or sightseeing.
The attached restaurant is a beautiful mosaic masterpiece.
And the most important >>>>>> Everything was CLEAN!
I also felt very secure here.
I would love to go back again some day!!!
The only downfall I can think of is yes, they had access to two computer terminals, but the keyboard was Czech (?) & I never did figure it out......VERY Confusing!
Also Prague is on the Kron or Krona as their currency & not on the Euro...there is a MAC machine across the street near the Starbucks. Their money is not user friendly

I visit Prague on average twice a year. The Art Deco Imperial Hotel is by far the best hotel I have stayed in whilst in Prague, and for the price it was faultless.

The communal areas of the hotel are beautifully decorated in marble and the staff very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast room is more than big enough and never full. The breakfast was very good, with fruit, cold meat and cheese, English breakfast options and American pancakes to name a few of the choices.

The rooms are great. The bed was huge and very comfortable (and I am 6’4” tall). The room contained flat screen tv, tea and coffee making facilities, wardrobe, mini bar and a couple of chairs with the writing desk and occasional table. The en-suite was also beautiful, finished totally in marble with heated floor and hairdryer, with towels and bathrobes etc. The bath was a very good size with a headrest and shower over. It also included a heated towel rail.

The room was quiet and we were never disturbed. I found that I was totally happy with my experience at the Art Deco Imperial.

Just one point of note, if you are ordering a taxi from the airport or speaking to anyone in Prague about the hotel, just call it the “Imperial” as no one has heard of the “Art Deco” bit.

The hotel is about 300 meters from Namesti Republiky metro station and tram stops are even closer. There is a theatre very close by, and a large shopping centre with over 200 shops more or less next door. The centre of Prague – either the Old Town Square or St Wenceslas Square – are about 10 minutes walk. You can buy public transport tickets from the Concierge.

I would thoroughly recommend the Art Deco Imperial Hotel to anyone wanting a relaxing, comfortable or romantic stay in Prague.

I thought the hotel was ok. Travelled throughout Europe and stayed at some pretty spectacular 5 star hotels. The location is fantastic - nice and quiet and yet close to everything. Internet was expensive in room, Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff friendly and helfpful. The pictures on the iInternet did not truly represent what we saw when we got there. Hot tub was not working and steam room had musty odor.

I'll try to write this review in useful sections:
Service:
The staff at (Art Deco) Imperial Hotel Prague are pleasant, fast, and helpful. When we first arrived at the front desk we were greeted with a smile by both female staff at the desk. After saying hello and giving our name, it only took about one minute for the efficient lady to check us in and hand us our room keys. The following day when we wanted to use the business center computers for internet access (which is all free!), there were two male staff at the front desk, and they too smiled and graciously pointed out where the computers were located. When we needed to print our boarding passes for our flight back home, their printer was out of paper, but a male staff person very quickly and nicely came straight over with a stack of paper and a smile. When we wanted to reserve a guided tour outside of Prague to the small town of Kutna Hora, we used the hotel Concierge desk. A male concierge who was professional and friendly handled the booking. He took our payment, phoned the tour provider, and printed a confirmation voucher for us with excellent speed and courtesy, and gave us clear instructions on how to meet the driver in the lobby the following morning. All staff spoke clear English and while we did know some Czech phrases, we didn't "need" to use them, as all staff knew English. In addition, if you choose to have their breakfast (which is great value and recommended), you will dine in a gorgeous restaurant that is notable even to the locals. We received fast, friendly female servers who came to our table right away to see if we wanted coffee or tea (the rest of the breakfast is buffet-style, and the buffet has a very wide selection of great hot and cold foods plus baked goods and several juices). If you prefer coffee (which we did) they leave an entire pot on your table so you don't have to ask for a refill. They also clear away dirty plates quickly, which is useful when you eat buffet style and have several plates. We thought the service in the restaurant was so good we left some change as a tip, even though it wasn't required. I think about 10 Crowns...

The Room/Amenities:
We had a standard double bed room, and while it was not a large room, it was VERY well decorated with extremely clean, new and stylish amenities. The bed was huge (an American King size, I think). There was a full desk and chair with paper, pen, etc. plus a separate side table and another chair for reading, etc. The TV was an LCD mounted on the wall and had 4 channels in English that were free (2 news channels and 2 movie channels). The room provides (for free) a kettle for hot water plus tea and instant coffee with creamer, sugar, etc. which Housekeeping refills daily at no charge. You also get an ironing board, iron, hair dryer, shoe shine items, bathrobes, slippers and basic toiletries included (and the hair dryer is good, not the crummy kind some hotels offer). Also, the bathroom was marble, new and gorgeous with a toilet, bidet, telephone, speakers for the TV, under-floor heating, cosmetic mirror and a deep bathtub that could accommodate 2 people if you're a cozy couple. Don't be distracted by reviews on this site that say the tub is too high, though you should note that if you are disabled or very elderly you may need to take extra care stepping in and out over the high edge. Hardly a negative. Our room had a window without a view, but it didn't matter because you probably won't be inside your room during the day anyway.

Location:
This hotel is just a block or two off the "beaten path" which is a GOOD thing here because the hotel is walking distance from almost everything, yet the street it is on is not noisy or loud or dangerous at all. If you require basic things like bottled water, there is a convenience store just outside the hotel to the left (get your water/snacks here for less than 50 Crowns instead of paying super high hotel mini-bar prices). If you want a modern shopping mall, there is a giant 200-store mall (Palladium) out the hotel door to the right. You can easily walk to a Metro station, tram stop or a bus stop, though if you are elderly or disabled it may be a bit difficult because roads are cobblestone and sometimes narrow or crowded depending on time of day.

The Best:
The overall style and cleanliness of the hotel room and building was the best. It's easy to relax in a super clean, organized and well-appointed place. Best feature after the overall art deco design is the *free* access to two PC computers which have fast, free internet and printing for hotel guests.

The Least:
Nothing was bad at this hotel, but if you are used to large, spacious rooms, these rooms may not live up to American expectations - the square footage of rooms is always smaller in Europe than the USA. If you know that ahead of time, you won't be let down.

More:
The hotel has a spa and offers many massage, facial and other treatments/services, provided you make your reservation a day in advance. They also have full room service, but their restaurant is so nice, you probably won't even use room service. Also, the hotel doesn't look fancy from the street, but inside it is an Art Deco gem recently updated.

Not the best location, but a very good option to stay. Room clean, large, comfortable and nice. The bed could be better. Don´t believe in concierge at all.

My boyfriend and I stayed at The Imperial for our anniversary. It was beautiful and the room was fab, Deluxe double. Service of staff was very good, and helpful. The location was perfect, only 10 mins from The Old Town Square, and the river. 2 mins from The Palladium shopping center which has 200 shops and restaurants. We walked for miles down the side streets were there are plenty of boutiques, and tourists shops. Views from Rozhledna Tower on top of the hill, were amazing. St Vitus' Cathedral is definately worth a visit. Walk along the river both sides to see statues of all kinds. We would recommend this hotel and the city iteself for all types of people! Would stay here again.
