Very good service, small hotel with a good location. Breakfast was good, but be prepared to wait for the buffet to get filled up. Hotel room nice and clean. Lobby area small, so tell on beforehand if you arrive earlier than time for getting hotel room. Hotel room was nice and no outer sounds were heard, so good night sleep can be guaranteed. Also good wifi.

I stayed 2 nights there. The hotel is not that easy to find, since the building seems to be shared with other establishments. You may feel confused, but there are signs to help you.
The location is very good! You will be in a walking distance to the Old Town and the main attractions. A lot of good restaurants nearby with good options of prices and tastes.
The check in was easy and fast and the staff is helpful. They offer to help you to get a taxi if you need, since this can be an issue in Prague.
The room is comfortable and clean, everything you need to spend the night after a day enjoying the city.
Next time in Prague I will consider to stay in this hotel again.

Hotel Melantrich is in a prime location for access to all the major areas of Prague, just around the corner from Old Town, and a decent stroll past all the landmarks to the Charles Bridge and over to the Castle. Very friendly staff plus a decent breakfast included. They call themselves 3 star, I give them 4.

I stayed (with my wife) in this nice hotel for 5 nights. We loved our stay there.

The location of this hotel is SUPER, especially if the purpose of your trip is the city tour. It is located in the pedestrian area between Old Town square (the most amazing place in Prague) & Wenceslas square (where you can do all the shopping you want). I can say that 80% of the sight-seeing places in Prague are within a reasonable walking distance from Melantrich hotel.

Hotel staff are very friendly & helpful. They always helped us & provided information about places to go, how to reach any place, recommend us trips, restaurants, concerts & offered to do the reservation for us.
Check-in was easy & fast.

Hotel room was clean, well-arranged, a bit small but this is expected (in Europe in general & especially in old buildings like this one). Bathroom is also small but convinient. The room is cleaned everyday.
Our room was on the street side. I had read earlier that it will be noisy but it wasn't as noisy as expected. It was totally bearable for us.

Street side rooms have a nice view on the pedestrian area of Old town. They have also another advantage which is the lift (which is not available for the back side rooms).
One big disadvantage of the street side rooms is the un-availability of WiFi which is only available in back side rooms & hotel reception.

Breakfast was OK. (Kind of basic), For me I started to find it boring after the third day.

In general, I found this hotel very convinient & I would highly recommend it for all city tour travellers.

The rooms are more than adequate for the average sightseer who does not plan on spending a lot of time in the room. Excellent location -1 min from old town square and 2 from Wenceslas square. Friendly helpful staff who let us sit in the reception/dining area for several hours while waiting for a taxi to take us to the airport. Entrance is down a passage to doors which you need to be buzzed through. Buzzer is amongst a set of apartment names on left just before the doors.
Don't let the grim entrance put you off

Against's If you are disabled, unfit, be prepared for a few stairs to get you to the hotel Lobby and then to your room. There is no lift and no porter to help with the luggage.
No kettle tea or coffee in the room. When we plugged in our own travel kettle, it blew all the lights in the room,[Twice]
coffee at breakfast was always luke warm and the orange juice very watery
No complimentry soap shampoo etc, except a pump soap dispenser on the wall.
For's:- Cosy warm hotel. Staff friendly, a good choice of breakfast.
Great location. For Old town Wencelas square and all main attractions. Loved our stay

Room Tip: Top floor less noise from the basement night club. Thumping noise till early hours.

Dear guest,

Let me reply to your feedback regarding your recent stay in our hotel. All feedbacks are very important for us. I am glad learning that you have been satisfied with your stay. Still, let me reply to your remarks about the inconveniences that you have mentioned.
The hotel Melantrich is situated in the historical building, which is located in the very heart of the quarter called the Old Town. It is very popular among our clients especially for this convenient central location in the middle of the cultural and social life and shopping area. All main sights are within the walking distance. However, it is technically impossible to have a lift up to the hotel reception and to the rooms. This is the reason why we cannot and we do not offer the accommodation in our hotel to the clients with limited mobility.
We operate the hotel in the category of 3 stars so we do not have any porter who could help our guests with their luggage. For the same reason there are no complimentary soaps nor shampoos in the guest rooms. Still, there are pump soap dispensers with the liquid soap of high standard.
Coffee sets are available on request at the hotel reception at an extra fee of CZK 200 for the whole stay. The coffee set includes the kettle, cups, tea bags, an instant coffee and sugar. Our guests are informed about it on our website.
Unfortunately there was some noise from the bar under the hotel during your stay. Still, we have taken steps in order to eliminate this inconvenience and to avoid it for the future.

Sincerely,

Liubov Egorova
