“Faulty Towers - weekend from hell”
Reviewed 4 January 2012

Initial room at heating problems, took 3 attempts to be given a room that was ok. Hotel pool out of action. Breakfast was a nightmare. Staff very rude. Avoid this place.

checked in on boxing day afternoon, took a couple of attempts to get the correct room i.e. with a "proper" double bed, in our case 3rd time lucky, room good at the back of the hotel with a view into the inner "square" of the hotel but with sky view so ok.
Breakfast fine though on a couple of occasions the "eggman" needed to be queued for, may have been as the hotel was pretty full.
Used the pool in the afternoon 3:30 only 2 other people there so very relaxed, pool also nice temperature, pool area its self was 29C so very comfortable. Got crowded around 5ish so not quite so relaxing then.
Girlfriend had an aromatherapy massage which she felt disappointed with as no choice of oil as advertised nor explanation of which oils used. Also therapist did not speak very good english and did not entirely understand requirements and seemed inexperienced in massage techniques. For the price 2300K for an hour it was not the same at all as in other 5 star hotels such as the Mandarin or Dorchester or spice Island grenada.
Hotel is as others have stated has a very grand style, it is also in very easy walking distance of the old town i.e. the Powder tower, old town square etc.
There are a couple of desktop pc's to use behind the breakfast area, though the lack of free wifi is an oversite for the hotel, as most other hotels have this as standard.
We would consider staying again, we also found the City of Prague to be a wonderful place and would recommend it as a place to visit.

Room Tip: If you want a double bed make sure you request it and that is not two bed pushed together.

We had a great Christmas break at the Boscolo Prague! The hotel lobby is stunning. We have stayed in a classic room. We had a Christmas Dinner in the hotel restaurant (great food, service and atmosphere). The hotel employees were always there for us. They were very friendly, smiling and ready to answer all questions and take care of all requests. During the stay we have spent two days visiting different parts of Prague. The hotel is in the center, walking distance to all of the historical monuments. We took a one day trip to Kutna Hora and spent one day in the Spa, swimming in the pool and relaxing in the saunas. I have had one of the best massages in my life. We had a great holiday and would definitely recommend this hotel.

Hi guys,

I have stayed at this hotel for a special occasion and have to say the hotel was lovely as were the staff. As soon as we arrived we were informed of the city, what to see and the the staff made our stay very welcome. The only problem was the swimming pool was not working but this was being fixed and we were able to use Marriott hotel facilities. I would definitely go back.

Stayed for 3 nights from 1st - 3rd December 2011 in a standard room. Check-in very smooth, very helpful receptionist (shame she wasn't there for the rest of our stay). We'd considered taking a travel kettle but decided not to as we were going to a 5 star hotel, and the ability to make a cuppa in your room is a fairly basic one as far as I'm concerned,so I was sure there'd be one in the room. Nothing. I rang reception and spoke to a chap who explained that you only qualified for tea making facilities in a junior suite or above but that I was welcome to purchase hot drinks from Room Service. I confirmed with him that this hotel WAS actually 5 star and pointed out that I expected the same level of service as any other guest, whether in a junior suite or not. I asked for a kettle, 2 cups, some teabags and milk.
After much discussion he "graciously" said he'd see what he could do. Shortly afterwards 2 cups were delivered. We asked where the rest of the things were. The delivery boy said he'd find out. We then had a phone call from the same guy I'd spoken to before asking what we wanted.I pointed out that that we still needed a kettle etc. He wasn't happy and we had the whole conversation again, ending up with him agreeing to send a kettle. I asked about tea/milk again and he said we could order hot drinks from Room Service. Deja-vu or what!!!
I asked if we could buy some from the hotel but he replied that there were plenty of supermarkets nearby. The kettle duly arrived and we got tea etc from a nearby shop.
The heating problem seems to be constant. The room becomes unbearable unless you actually trip the fuse for the air-con.
Breakfast was okay if you went early enough. We went about 10am our 1st morning (service is until 10.30) and found that the only hot food left were eggs - sausage and bacon all gone.
The swimming pool was closed, which was one of the reasons we'd gone.
Most of the staff were very pleasant, but unfortunately, just calling yourself a 5 star hotel doesn't actually make you one. It's to do with the level of service you give guests. The building looks 5 star but thats where the similarity ends. Wouldn't rush back
