We stayed for 4 nights on our first visit to Prague and chose the Hotel Questenberk based on reviews. Exceeded our expectations.
Hotel staff: Most impressed with the caring customer service by all the staff.,always attentive, friendly and wanting us to have an enjoyable visit. We arrived after a long international flight and were greeted with concern for our weariness, offering us sparkling wine, water and wet towels to refresh. While we were offered maps and information on public transportation and sights, our luggage was taken to our room as a courtesy. We were impressed that they gave us a tour of the hotel and a second room option. Thankfully excellent English spoken by staff.
Hotel: lovely historic hotel and décor. Always clean and well maintained. Lovely lounge with coffee/tea and cake, newspapers and free access computer. Breakfast room large with beautiful views. Back terrace for drink overlooking Petrin hill park area.
Location: Convenient tram stop within square of souvenir and antique shops. Strahov Monastery within block and beautiful park behind with wonderful views of the old center below. We would walk the park area at night and sit and enjoy the view. Monastery grounds has two restaurants, including the Strahov Beer Gaden/restaurant. The Loreta one block over. Quiet and safe.
Room: Spacious with old world style wood beams, desk, wardrobe and dresser,,mini fridge cabinet w/ glasses and corkscrew and 2 chairs. Modern and good size bathroom. Bottled water and fruit placed in room each day. Very large and comfortable bed. Always clean.
Breakfast: Excellent included bountiful breakfast buffet. The best bacon I've ever had, plus eggs, meats & cheeses, fresh vegs and fruit cereals and pastries.Complimentary sparkling wine given to us on our checkout morning.
We even received an email thanking us for our stay. Highly recommend!

Room Tip: Our room #403 was large and quiet

It is in an ideal location regardless of whether you are a first time or frequent visitor like myself to Prague. The trams, restaurants, and lots of sites to see all within close proximity to the hotel. Our room was very comfortable and reasonably spacious, the staff friendly as always.

The Questenberk is a fabulous place to stay in Prague. The staff are extremely helpful, the breakfasts are wonderful and the rooms are clean and charming. The hotel staff arranged to pick us up and drop us off at the airport, which was extremely convenient. Our departure time was very early (4 am), and the staff even packed a breakfast for us to take to the airport.

The hotel itself is a little way from the noisy streets, so the rooms themselves are very quiet. I slept well every single night.

When I visit Prague again I will stay at the Questenberk Hotel. Highly recommended!

This hotel is Great. Service is second to none. The rooms are of a very high standard as is the Breakfast. The view from the breakfast room is over tge whole of Prague. It may be a little way out of the Old Square but you get a sound peaceful sleep. Unlike hotels in the centre. The Hotel Airport transport is cheaper than a taxi ftom the Airport. So would advise to take this service. Complementary glass of bubbly on arrival and if your on an early flight they will let you have your room if ready. Cannot fault it atall. It takes 10/15 mins stroll to Charles Bridge. Another 10 mins to old square. Or No22 Tram straight down to centre. Taxi from 200/400 if your tired.
Would stay here again x

Dear guest of the Questenberk hotel,

we are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us from the arrival until the day of your departure. In few days we are about to open our terrace restaurant where the view is as incredible as from our breakfast room.

As you mentioned in your nice feedback, to the Charles Bridge it takes approximately 10 minutes, but you can visit other main sights in the area of our hotel such as Prague Castle, Loreta or Strahov Monastery which is surrounded by one of the biggest parks in Prague, the Petřín park. All of them are located just few steps from our hotel and they complete the city part called the Golden Prague. I will be pleased to forward your compliments to our staff and we are looking forward to see you again in the future.

With warm regards,

Robert Safarik

This trip was a surprise for my partners birthday and I must say he was delighted with the whole trip. We arranged for hotel service for a car to pick us up at the airport, Although a little more than you would pay by taxi or shuttle the service was first class. We were met in arrivals and taken promptly to our car. Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted warmly and offered a drink and refreshing towels which is a lovely touch. Special mention to Lukas who was very pleasant and explained everything about the hotel to us.

Rooms
I had arranged a superior room on the top floor, when we were shown to our room on the top floor both my partner and I noticed a strange smell which we put down to the drains. Lukas offered us another room immediately with out us asking on the 3 floor (no smell at all). We were also shown a luxury room which we were informed that we could upgrade to at a small extra cost but unfortunately the room was booked for guests the next day. Although the room we were given was lovely and had a view over the monastery if you want that little bit extra upgrade to a luxury room.

Food
Nice breakfast catering for everyone from Continental to cooked eggs, sausages and beans, Also available is champagne for those who can drink on a morning, not for me. Again the staff were always polite and cheerful.

Lounge
There is a lovely little lounge in the hotel with coffee & tea on offer as well as lovely home made cakes (this is free which is a nice bonus)

Surrounding area
As the hotel is set in the old part of Prague there is quite a steep hill down to Charles bridge and the old town, however there is a tram number 22 which stops at the top of the street which will take you down to the bottom of the hill. My partner and I walked up and down the hill which certainly keeps you fit and I must say you will not be disappointed as there are some nice shops and restaurants. Once over Charles Bridge (which is a bit congested) you arrive in the old town and as it was Easter there was a market and a number of entertainers around. The clock in the square is a must just stand and wait to see what happens every hour.

Warning
Just a word of caution there are a number of people who will approach you and ask if you would like to change money DON'T as its a scam, also there are a number of people begging on the streets. I also witnessed a number of people going through bins for food not a nice sight but obviously these are homeless people.
.
Things to do
Whilst in the old square we were approached by a man asking if we would like to see a classical concern, at first we were a little wary, however we agreed to pay the £20 each which I know seems a lot, but you will not be disappointed it was absolutely wonderful. The chapel it was held in was stunning and the acoustics were brilliant. My partner and I are not old crocks as you may think with going to the concert and there was a number of young people there, so go on try it you might be pleasantly surprised.

Restaurants
We ate in a range of restaurants some which were good, however they are not as cheap as some people seem to think they are. But if you want something cheap try one of the hot dog stands, which a lot of people seemed to be doing. A lot of the czech dishes come with dumplings bit to stodgy for me but on a cold day goulash and dumplings will put a lining on your stomach.

This is my second visit to Prague and my partners first and we had both agreed that we will be going back but perhaps when the weather is a little bit warmer.

I cannot say enough good things about Hotel Questenberk. the place is charming, real old world feel, the location is perfect, the view is inbeatable, the staff is warm and helpful, the place is so quiet you think you're in your own chalet! It's near the monestary so be sure and walk to the big tower, the 360 view of Prague is unparalleled. The food is wonderful, and everything about it is perfect. It's central to all. We had to leave to go to a chain hotel with a group and in comparison, it's depressing after that experience and I wish I could go back. If you go to Prague don't miss staying here. I heard about it here also first and want to pass it on!

Dear guest of the Questenberk hotel,

It was our great pleasure to look after you on your recent visit to Hotel Questenberk and I am thrilled to read you enjoyed your stay with us. Our guests experiences are very important to us and it is nice to read that you found all aspects of your visit to your satisfaction. I have passed your nice words to the team, who were delighted to hear it.

Being that the property was originally a former private palace the rooms vary in unforgettable views of Prague, Strahov Monastery or Petřín Park and all are originally decorated. You can really see and feel the history that this architectural masterpiece went through.

We do hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Hotel Questenberk on a future visit.

With warm regards,

We had high hopes of this hotel having read all of the positive reviews on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. From the moment of our arrival for a four night stay, we were made to feel very welcome, with our receptionist providing us with complementary glasses of sekt while he informed us not only of the hotel's amenities but also other useful information such as where to visit in the city and how to use the public transport system. Our room (a deluxe) was large and cozy feeling and the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the window afforded an impressive view of the neighbouring Strahov monastery. A complementary bottle of wine and a cheese board were also provided, one of which we managed to make last until the final evening!

The range of breakfast items, while not exceptional, was perfectly serviceable, with the breakfast room providing a view of the city which would be hard to beat. However the most exceptional thing about the hotel was the quality of service provided by the staff, from the reception area, where staff were happy to book restaurant reservations or arrange transportation, to the cleaning staff. Thanks you all for looking after us so well. I must also mention that in terms of value for money this is perhaps the best hotel I have ever stayed in.

The hotel is perched on top of a steep hill and it is a fairly long walk to areas such as Wenceslas Square and the Astronomical Clock. However it was a walk we were happy to make most of the time as it was so beautiful, and when we didn't feel up to it the No. 22 tram took us from the top of the road into the main town in no time at all. We were slightly worried that the location in the Castle district would mean a dearth of good local drinking establishments, but in U Zevesenyho Kafe (5 minutes downhill) and Klasterni Pivovar Strahov (3 minutes uphill) the vicinity boasts two of the best in the city.
