It's an amazing hotel. It used to be a micro brewery. The hotel has been recently renovated and looks really good - clean, nice decor, there is even a lift (but not to the attic rooms). My room was smallish but had a big bathroom. The room was well done and cozy. The staff is excellent. The breakfast is good. The beer pub downstairs is old world (and I loved it) and large, divided into various sections. Excellent beer, many from their micro brewery (they still brew some beer) and good wholesome Czech cuisine. It is very close to the Old Town Square.

Very close to Old town Square and all historic sites, as well as restaurants, cafes, bars and shopping. Friendly staff. They arranged pick up and drop off at airport for a small charge which was very convenient. We were there between Christmas and New Years, heat was really good. Room was large, furnishings were old, but bed was comfortable. Bathroom was very modern, and the heated towel rack was great for our winter stay. Breakfast was excellent, so many choices of meats, eggs, cheeses, fruit and bread. No noise from the outside, or from the brewery/bar on the first floor. All in all, a pleasant stay and good value.

Room Tip: We had a large room for four adults, parents with adult children. Some of the rooms for couples look...

This is a cool place .... offered and accepted a small beer while filling out the entry paperwork. Clean room, ours faces a busy street but with the double hung windows closed the noise isn't overwhelming. Great front desk staff. Definitely recommended.

Situated short-walking distance (5 minutes) to Old Town Square, we found the brewery hotel to be an awesome location with tons of restaurants and bars right outside in any direction. We enjoyed a beer tasting upon arrival. Our room was very clean, but as other reviewers have mentioned, we did not have A/C in our room. This would normally be fine for us, but Prague was extremely hot when we visited (90-degree weather). We did have a fan in our room which helped, but it was just a bit noisy when we opened the windows at night, but nothing too crazy. We didn't spend much time in the room anyway because there is so much to do and see in Prague!

We didn't eat at the hotel restaurant (besides breakfast), but we did try some of the beers. They were all very good! The restaurant must have been good because there were always people eating there. We were extremely impressed with the breakfast included with the room rate. There was cereal, yogurt, fruit, pastries, coffee, teas, meats, cheese, and crepes too! Based on the location and value, we would stay here again!

Room Tip: Our only recommendation is to request a room not facing the street if there is hot temperatures whil...

Dear valued guest,
thank you for your review of your stay. I am happy to hear you liked our breakfast which offers great variety of options for our guests to choose from. Sometimes could be warm weather, but this is about 10 days in the year - unfortunately it was last week. But our hotel is an old building with thick walls and normally is here very comfortable. Little bit noisy - it could be during the weekend, because of Prague is famous and popular city. Our hotel is in the almost quiet street and most of days its calm.
Actually, we are proud you like our homebrew beer and hope to welcome you back to our hotel on your next trip to Prague.
With kind regards,
Martina Göttel

Booked this hotel because we made our plans to visit Prague at the last minute and had never been before. Since we were interested in Czech beer, what better place to stay? We were not disappointed. The room was pricey but we did get the last one so that was expected. They seem to have better deals with more advanced booking. We did get one of the new rooms and it was beautiful. One of the largest we have ever had in Europe. There was also a very quaint view of the winding streets below. Only problem with that is there was no air conditioning (or it wasn't working) and if you left the windows open, the noise from the street below was very loud and constant since the brewery pub stays open quite late. If we closed the window it got very stuffy. A fan to move the air would solve that issue. The staff were all very accommodating both at reception and in the restaurant. We were provided a welcome beer upon check-in. It was excellent. The food in the restaurant was very good and well priced. The breakfast was more than sufficient. Everything was very clean. The location could not be better. It was about a 5 minute walk to the Old Town Square and across the street from a Tesco Department store where you could buy light snacks and drinks as well as clothing, toiletries, etc. We were also about a 5 minute walk from Wenceslaus Square. We would love to visit Prague again and would most likely stay at U Medvidku again but request a room off the street.

Room Tip: If you are traveling when the temperatures are warm, request a room off the street.

Hotel U Medvikvu, www.umedvidku.cz. Here is a rave review by my GF and me. We have just spent 3 glorious nights at this hotel. The location is centrally located, walking distance to the main attractions, restaurants & public transport. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean, and the service is outstanding. It has free wifi and the hot buffet breakfast is included. The friendly concierge helped us book our hotel in Trebon & arrange transportation. The hotel has it's own brewery, pub & restaurant. We highly recommend this hotel for couples, families and anyone else looking for a great place in Prague! The value is worth every Krono, you will save money staying here.

Centrally situated with a very busy restaurant attached in which we also had a good, solid Czech meal. The week before we arrived, a lift to the second floor was installed and new rooms opened. The room we had, 102, was well furnished with a good bathroom. Breakfast was a self service buffet with a range of cereals, fruit and cooked food in the form of sausages, eggs etc. Well recommended.
