Recently returned from a 3 night stay at Mamaison Residence, and it was the perfect base for Prague. Great, quiet location, with a number of places to eat within easy reach, or just a 15 minute walk into the centre. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room (more like a studio flat) was huge and clean with everything you could need. Didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food. Would absolutely stay there again, or in it's sister hotels across eastern Europe as I'm sure they will all have the same high standards. Secured a great deal on the stay through Ebookers.com so well worth the money, and Prague is a beautiful city to visit.

This apartment style hotel is pretty good in general. Our room (I think it was the junior suite) was spacious, pretty clean, quiet, nicely decorated and had good facilities. However, it was a bit strange to come up from the super flashy modern lobby to the CRT TV in our bedroom... The bathroom is maybe slightly dated, but is just fine otherwise. The location is pretty good. We were looking at getting a room at the other Mamaison Residence, which I think was just near the Charles bridge, a really central location, but it was literally double the price, so we decided to stay here to save a bit of cash. Turns out the location here is fantastic anyway and definitely worth only spending half the price. The Belgicka street has a couple of great little cafes and 2 organic shops where we stocked up on fruit, chocolate and juice! It's also great to walk from here to the town centrre as the walk goes past a few cool Prague sites (museum, a major shopping street, etc). Also, a god train station and tram stop are about a 6 mniute walk away.

My only complaint is the breakfast (which, be warned, you must order the night before or you won't get any), for which we paid 10 Euro each - waaay to expensice for Czech. So we came down in the morning to find one tiny glass of juice had been poured for us - you don't get any more than that for your 10 Euro - and there was a couple of croissants and rolls, a bit of jam, 1 type of yoghurt, 1 type of muesli, and honey. I had to ask for tea. This was probably the crappiest breakfast I've ever had in Europe, we had better food and a wider selection at a 2 star joint in Paris once! Other than that, go for it!

We spent 5 weeks traveling in Europe and stayed in self-catered apartments wherever we went. This was definitely one of the best, with great facilities both in the apartment itself and in the hotel (gym, sauna, pool table, free wi-fi, in-house taxi service for our 4am airport call!) The apartment itself was modern and stylish, with a comfy king-sized bed, a really nice shower/bathroom and a well-appointed kitchen with everything you need. Service was excellent and very friendly, no language problems as all staff spoke English well. The apartment is well-located, with post office and grocery store nearby and a few minutes walk from the subway. About a 20 minute walk into town but only about 5-10 minutes by subway. Highly recommended!

We had the one bedroom business apartment on the main floor for 2 wks beginning April/10. It was simply wonderful. Very roomy, very clean, very comfortable. The front-end staff were extremely accommodating and full of information, always willing to help. Their English was great. The cleaning staff (who came around more often than the once-a-week that we expected) were also friendly. The mattress was just short of queen size and very comfortable. Be warned, though - the bedding was European-style (two duvets rather than one to share). I found it great (husband was unable to steal my covers for the first time in yrs!). The hotel is located in a very safe and quiet area, about a 5 minute walk (safe even at night) from the very safe underground. Alternatively, an easy and safe 15-20 minute walk gets you to Wenceslas Square. Make sure to scout the 3 block area surrounding the hotel early as there are numerous cafe/bars with wonderful foods at great prices - not to mention lots of beer! If you turn right and around the corner as you come out of the hotel, go up about 1/2 block and take a left, you will find a grocery store on the left that will suffice -just beyond that is a little bar serving great Italian food - two of us stuffed ourselves and had a few pints for less than $20. If you are perk coffee drinkers, you will have to make it the old-fashioned way in a pot as there are no coffee makers. The only English TV stations are BBC News, CNN News, and Eurosport. There are free dvds for your use at reception. Hotel has free laundry fascilities. Wireless internet was free and worked well all the time. Absolute best bet is to arrange a car through the hotel to pick you up at the airport for 600 koruna. DO NOT take taxis in Prague unless a reliable source gets it for you.
