“Fun without the hussel and bussel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2014

The ART hotel in Prague at first glance wasn't much on the eyes but once you enter the building it's nice and comfortable, the receptionists were extremely friendly and helpful, instructing us where to park, what sights to see and where's best to eat. Even though it seemed quite far away from the hussel and bussel of the city it was only a 10minute walk away, and Infact you can cut through the beautiful gardens on top of the city to see the amazing views before descending down on the town. I was slightly disappointed in the breakfast, the eggs were quite awful but besides that we would stay there again if we happen to find ourselves back in beautiful Prague.

I must say that after reading the previous reviews I might have arrived with too high expectations. Having said that although I agree with some of the positive sides mentioned in previous reviews, there are some negative aspects as well that occured during our 5 day stay.

Pros:
- clean hotel with spotless bathroom.
- large room, more than one would expect.
- breakfast was quite varied and plenty to chose from.
- situated in a quiet residential area which means you can sleep with your window open and get some fresh air.

Cons:
- the mattress was very lumpy, giving me and my wife a little back ache. It definitely needed replacement and had seen better days.
- although there is a large bath it has no curtain, therefore when showering standing up there is no way to avoid a mess on the floor. Any sort of barrier (plastic curtain, glass, etc.) would help and avoid cleaning half the bathroom after the shower.
- the shampoo, Soap and toilet paper were not replenished every day and we had to go to reception to ask for more. Although it's only a minor thing, it's these small details that differentiate the good from the great.
- Location. Yes, it's quiet. And yes, you pay less as you are not smack down in the middle of the action. So if that's for you, then great. For us it was a little too far away, especially in the evening when all you want is a quick step to the where the action is. Even if the centre is only a quick 10 minute tram ride away (when it pours that's 10 minutes too much).

By the way, there is a nice Restaurant only 5 minutes away by foot called Lokal - has great beer, friendly service and some local dishes. Go there for lunch and you get a whole menu for only about 100 krona..

Bottom line, the hotel wasn't bad, it just wasn't great.

Stayed 4 nights at this nice hotel located just next to the Sparta Prague stadium and the park north of the old town.
The room was nice and quiet and very clean. Service was great, with 24 hour service.
We had to catch a very early flight when departing - and did not expect any breakfast. The receptionist volunteered to put out "a small breakfast" for us... It was huge, with fruits, cake, bread, several toppings, yoghurt etc. That is great service.
We would definately stay here again.
Only improvement is to put the shower head a bit higher so you can shower a standing up (and possibly a shower curtain).

Room Tip: We had a few moments where the water pressure dropped - possibly because we was on the 4th floor.

Hotel is great. Beautiful room with everything required, very clean room and bathroom. We specially liked the breakfast. We also liked the free of Wi Fi, very good strength. Highly recommend this hotel.

This was our second visit of Art hotel and Prague. Breakfast was plentifull, excellent, capucino was very tasty. Rooms are large, more then enough space for luggage. Bathroom is very clean, modern and the bed is comfortable, soft. People who work there are very friendly, always smiling. If we come back to Prague again, we will stay at this hotel.

Hotel is behind the SPARTA football stadium. There is a permanent set of artistic photos and paintings. It is clean and well-appointed though in some need of redecoration. While the sparta tram stop is close there is no ticket vending machine. The nearest one is near the next stop about 7 minutes walk in front of a busy supermarket. Not ideal for tourism but very good

Great hotel, very professional, clean, warm.Excellent value for what we paid - we booked directly through the website and got a great deal. Beautiful room with everything required. Its a bit out of town but very walkable or trams 2 minutes away which are so frequent you never wait long. Also very close to the metro line which takes you straight into the town. Very quiet area, there is a building site outsite but that doesn't diminish the hotel itself. Tasty breakfast and plenty of it! Also free wifi and TV.
