The wife, three kids, and I stayed at this hotel during our recent trip to Prague. I am usually able to come up with something negative about a hotel, but this is the exception. Here are the things we loved:
1. Family suite was spacious. It provided a door to the adult bedroom and had plenty of space to set up the Pack and Play for the baby. Hotel was quiet and we had no problems settling the kids down to go to sleep. The wife and I had plenty of privacy.
2. Breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious. Everyone was able to find their favorite foods and enjoy them.
3. Secure parking garage. A must in many countries.
4. Located within easy walking distance to most of the historic downtown areas. We were able to walk to the castle, old town, the Jewish quarter, the shopping areas, etc. It's location allowed us to stop off once or twice a day for a rest and to refit.
Highly recommend to anyone travelling with kids.

Room Tip: If you have kids, get a family suite.

Dear Shawn S, I am super happy to hear you and your family had such a great time with us here in Prague at Hotel Leonardo. I noticed many guests just like you love the family suite so I am confident it is the right product if you travel with kids. Thank you for your feedback! The Hotel Leonardo was well situated on the edge of the old town on a quiet street.Seamless check -in . We could walk to all the various areas of Prague and were about 5 minutes from the Charles Bridge. The breakfast was everything you would need and the restaurant also very good .Our room was large which was nice as most rooms in Europe are not.I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We planned this trip very carefully and decided to chose Hotel Leonardo for the good reviews on Trip Advisor. Unfortunately our experience was not the same.
At arrival we found a very inexperienced person at reception to do our check in, who not only took a very long time to make it, but also was not aware of our reservation and put the 2 couples on the same room! Our plane was late and we arrived very late, so having all this confusion at check in was not the ideal service.
According to our booking we had the Early November package which would give us a late check out upon availability so we asked him to add that option and he said he did and there was no problem.
Our unpleasant surprise came when we were leaving the hotel on our last day for sightseeing, of course leaving everything in our room since we were guaranteed that the late check out was possible at check in, that we didn’t have a late check out! This person at reception never put anything in the system and we were never advised that it was not possible!!
I think it`s outrageous to blame the guest for an internal mistake of the hotel and that’s exactly what the people at reception at the moment of our “discovery” of this unpleasant situation did. It`s not our fault that the person at reception was inexperienced and not supervised but still they revoked our late check out....
This is not the quality of service we were expecting and for my experience travelling this is a very bad quality of service. And we had high hopes for our stay there considering all the reviews. The hotel management should review the way Reception treats the clients once they have done a mistake on their side.
Also, our room had 2 big windows with a very thin orange curtain that coudn`t block the lights from the street at night and the sun in the morning, so get ready to wake up really early if you decide to stay there...
The shower was really small and there was no hot water. Once I called reception they replied that they had a problem and I would have to wait 10 minutes with the water running to see if it would get warmer, otherwise there was nothing they could do. Note that it was 4 degrees outside and having a cold shower was really not an option at the moment...
I wouldnt recommend this hotel. During our trip we saw a lot of other hotels where friends were staying and they were a lot more satisfied than us.

Dear Annonymous2007,

I am sorry to hear about the issue with our reception. We pride ourselves in providing good service and it seems that our new team member was confused about what to do. I have followed up your comments with our reception and they have been discussed properly as this should not happen.

What happened was the hotel was actually not full but there was a large students group assigned to the room you were in arriving that afternoon. This could have not been moved due to boys / girls split. Neither less I would have offered you a different room, regardless of that and I feel sorry this came across the wrong way for you to get this much upset event though late check out is solely based on availability.

As per your water comment, it is not not we will not do anything else, but when the boiler disconnects which might happen, it takes about 10 minutes for the circulation to go back in order and truly there is nothing else our technicians can do.

I am sorry that the late check out confusion made you this upset and encourage all guests to ask for me if they experience any issues. Before you leave we can still fix anything that is not right, rather than having any guest write an angry review.

From the moment we arrived and were shown to our room by the friendly and helpful concierge we knew we'd picked a good hotel! We had a top floor room complete with wooden beams giving it plenty of character but enough mod cons to meet our needs. It even had a small kitchen area complete with hob and frying pan as well as a well stocked mini bar and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was a decent size (though no bath) and as with the rest of the hotel, decorated to a high standard. We felt spoilt for choice at breakfast - I chose from the selection of cold meats and cheeses but the cooked breakfasts looked pretty good too! As others have mentioned, this hotel really is in the perfect location for seeing the many sights of this amazing city - we only used the tram once, to get up to the castle but for the rest of our 3 night stay everything was within walking distance.

Room Tip: Tiny windows in top floor rooms
