“A few words of caution”
Reviewed 17 May 2010

Having seen many consistently good reviews I was a little disappointed in the Leonardo.
Firstly, several rooms in the "mid price" range are in the roof and have small hatch-like velux windows which cannot be opened widely, or accommodate proper curtaining. Staying 4 nights and in need of fresh air at night and not wanting to wake with the dawn, I eventually paid an extra 20 Euros a night for a "superior room" which had a window (and a kitchenette). It was the fourth room I saw on check in night. It had a window (into an unappealing well) but cheap moulded doors were actually breaking off their hinges and strips of mouldings were ripped from wardrobe doors. Maybe it's not a room that's often let but the hotel was busy as was evident for the scramble for tables at breakfast - rather a crush in a small cellar and every morning I went to breakfast there were people having to sit upstairs in the hotel foyer and totter up and down the steep staircase to help themselves to the breakfast buffet.

On the positive side, the room was clean (although I had to ask for dirty cups and glasses to be dealt with), the restaurant food is good, and the reception staff I dealt with very helpful and efficient. The location is superb, quiety tucked away, and the building has its charms. Perhaps I was just unlucky.

I am sorry to hear you did not like your room and of the issues described. Some of our rooms are a little different as we are a historical building. Our breakfast is served in the cellar, but unfortunately on some days it is a challenge to accommodate everyone at the same time and our Winter garden and if weather permits fountain courtyard are used as addittional seatings. I am glad to see my staff was responsive and I hope overall you did enjoy your stay.

The greatest advantage ist the Location of Leonardo. Just a few steps from "Karsbruecke" and the old part of the city. Wonderfull river view.
Brekfast room is a bit tight but the buffet is perfect.
No wi-fi internet connetion in our room (Suite) but in the lobby.
Great modern bathroom. Bedroom antique style (a bit old fashioned)

Over all: worth a visit. We would book again.

Thank you your lovely comments. We are glad you enjoyed Hotel Leonardo and our great location. As per WIFI, we do have it available in majority of the rooms, however due to the fact that the building has many sections, some areas might have a weak signal. I hope you could have used our regular LAN cable at least. Safe travels!

Spent four days in Prague as part of my 30th Birthday. Found this hotel on the internet, was delighted with my choice. It's in a great location just 2 mins walk from Charles Bridge and easy access to most other sights. The hotel itself is beautiful with lovely big, modern rooms. The staff are friendly and welcoming and made our stay very enjoyable. Can't recommend enough

I expected Prague to be pretty, but it is indeed breathtakingly beautiful.
Hotel Leonardo is located very conviniently close to the Charles bridge so you are close to the little town & the old town with all the sightseeing highlights. There are lots of nice restaurants, bars & cafes close by on quaint little streets & squares. You can go everywhere on foot which is best to not miss any of the beautiful buildings.

First trip to Prague and def not the last as loved this city. Hotel in a very good location, quiet, yet within easy reach of the rest of the city which is very easy to find your way around. The staff were really friendly and helpful, hotel very clean - although it had been some time since the carpet under our bed had seen a vacuum cleaner! Breakfast was amazing and included in our room rate, but the restaurant for the evening was expensive particularly the wine, the food was ok, although after a 6.20am flight we were very pleased to be able to get a reasonable meal without having to go out anywhere.

Hotel's spaces was clean and attacractive. Only room has only windows was to the inter-garden, but we was not spending time on the room, only sleeping. Bathroom was okey.
Location was excelent, close to everything, old town, shopping, cafe, restaurants, night life etc.
we also prefer hotel services, tram tickets, tickets to jazz boat etc, driver etc.
Also breakfast was very good.
We two ladies travelling together, we will recommended hotel to others.
