“Outstanding Accommodations and Hospitality”
Reviewed 18 July 2013

My wife and I stayed at Jan and Jakob's hotel during a 3 night, 4 day trip to Prague two years ago and I've been meaning to write a review ever since. The accommodations and hospitality were absolutely first class. Jan and Jakob and simply fantastic hosts and make you feel right at home. We were even greeted with an ice cold Czech beer upon our arrival on a hot afternoon. I won't stay anywhere else my next trip to Prague, which is simply the most beautiful, enchanting city I've ever visited. And the breakfasts prepared for us each morning were also excellent. So, a very belated thank you to Jan and Jakob for such a memorable stay at your hotel two years ago--it was one the highlights of our entire two week vacation and we look forward to visiting again in the not too distant future!

Room Tip: We had a lower, street level room. It was hot and could hear people talking on the streets outside...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Dum u velke boty on a family vacation. The location of this place is perfectly located, directly across the German Embassy and within walking distance of the Palace, St. Charles Bridge. I had a room in the front of the building and expected it to be noisy, but it was quite quiet. The hosts were very helpful suggesting attractions that were worth our time (while others that were not worth our time) and making restaurant reservations, suggestions for us. The breakfasts were hearty and plentiful. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Lovely place!

Room Tip: I comfortably shared a room with 2 other family members. We had 3 beds in one of the front rooms on...

We stayed 4 nights in a family suite. We have two adult sons and had two rooms on the upper floor all to ourselves. The beds were comfortable and very clean. The breakfast is wonderful and the location close to the bus, castle and shops . We would stay there again.

family of four stayed here in early June.We stayed in the upper floor and had it all to ourselves.
The rooms are spacious and nicely furnished. The whole place gave us a very cozy and homey feel which was very nice.Bowl of apples in the lobby along with some little candies the kids loved. One night there were some bananas as well which was a nice touch.
The rooms and bathrooms are immaculate and were cleaned and made up daily.
Hot water and heat worked perfectly. No excessive noise anywhere.

The breakfasts were wonderful and included great coffee, hot chocolate for the kids, eggs made to order as well as fresh breads, cereals, fruits, meats, yogurt, juices and much more.

The best part of the hotel is the excellent,superior,10 star service that is just incredible to experience. The staff went to great lengths to help us and make our stay happy and stress free.It is truly amazing and i have to say i have never had this level of service provided with such goodwill and smiles in all of our travels.
The hotel is very family friendly and would recommend it to families without hesitation.
It is located right across the German embassy in the Mala Strana part of Prague. It is within walking to distance to most major sights including the Prague castle which is just minutes away as well as old town and the Charles bridge which is within easy walking distance as well.there are a number of cafes and restaurants close by as well including the recommeded Maostranska beseda which we tried and thought was very good.

No need to look further -stay at this highly recommended hotel and you will have made an excellent choice for your home in Prague!

Spent 4 nights here in June. Jan, with his sons Jakub and Tomasz, together with their staff offered excellent hospitality in their establishment. I'd arranged a private pick-up which was late due to the unexpected flood situation and Tomasz, who picked me up, said I wouldn't be charged since it was so late. And this is just one out of the many examples I experienced of how excellent the service is at this B&B.

My room was on the second floor and faced the open compound outside which wasn't noisy at all. The room was spacious and comfortable. Wifi quality was excellent. Breakfast was good, with a variety to choose from, and eggs done just the way you like it.

As a solo traveller, getting good information and updates was crucial to helping me get around Prague, especially with the flood situation, and the staff never failed to assist me excellently there.

It's a great place to stay in Prague. I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

We stayed here just last month. I was great. The hosts were incredibly friendly and helpful. They assisted us with planning activities, helped us get very reasonable train tickets to Budapest. Anything we asked of them, they were only too happy to assist. The beds were very comfortable. That was especially important as we were exhausted from our flights from the states and the significant time difference. The breakfasts were also excellent with lots of choices from cooked to order eggs/ham/bacon to yogurt, lovely pastries, breads, coffee, tea, and juices. It was located in a quiet section of town near several embassies. It was central enough that we could walk almost anywhere we wanted to go. We did get the hang of the tram so we used it some as well as the bus that stops right in from of the B & B. We are so glad we stayed in the Bed and Breakfast rather than a hotel, a much more intimate and relaxing experience. Another really important plus for us was the pick up at the airport and transport to the train station at the end of our stay, provided by the B & B, a minor expense for a major convenience. I can't recommend this B & B highly enough.

Probably the most bend-over-backward-helpful staff of any hotel I've ever stayed at. Exquisite room. Made-to-order breakfast. Comprehensive advice and help for finding and setting up activities in the city.

Example: We had told them that we would not need parking. But we changed our plans (long story) and asked for parking on arrival. Because of city flooding, no local parking was available. So they arranged for parking a few miles away, arranged to pick us up there, then dropped us where we'd arranged to dine with friends. No charge for all the transportation and arrangements.

Room Tip: Room #33 is huge and has antique furniture and even an antique-style ceramic heater (ornamental...
