The Green Garland has roots going back to the 1200s; the arched breakfast room dates back to the 1300s, and the upstairs rooms, though certainly renovated, seem to have been added in the 15th & 16th centuries. There is no elevator.

The rooms are large; ours had a large ceramic stove (no longer used for heating), a foyer for suitcases and closet, a decent bathroom, and shared a kitchen/dining area with another room.

The morning buffet was not impressively diverse, but it was certainly adequate.

The location is wonderful; dozens of restaurants/shops/pubs are within one or 200 meters; the Old Town Square is only 5 minutes' walk away. Yet, this tiny street is very quiet. Over 3 nights we were never disturbed.

We would return.

Room Tip: In this historic building there is no elevator - nor is one allowed. The front door is always locke...

Located on the 14 century building on a charming quiet street, very central (3 min from the horologe) this is a nice B&B at a very reasonable price. We got per our request a large room (room 7) quite unexpected in European standards with a foyer and separate shower room from toilet room. The room was on the 2nd floor (if 1st floor is considered the ground floor per American standards) so carrying the luggage it was not very hard. It could be harder for bigger luggage and extra floor(s) especially for not so young.
They arranged airport pick up and we arrived in the morning. We got immediately in our room and the hostess gives us some info about the area. During our 3 nights stay we did not have too much interaction with personnel but we enjoy the company of the other guests. Through the other guests we got a lot of good info and we pass along what we learn. I did not find the hostess extremely warm, friendly, knowledgeable (or willing to share their knowledge) but they were efficient. We were surprised when they offered us to remain in the room till midnight instead of 11 am per the rule, since we had a night train to catch. It was with no additional cost, since the room was not rented out for that night. It means a lot to us not to stay outside for the whole cold and wet day.
The breakfast buffet was reasonable with the regular type of cold food.

Room Tip: there are 3 bigger rooms. No 7 is one of them and is at the 2nd floor (american) or 1st floor (europ...

I did not expect to have to climb 47 steps to the room only to find 5 more IN the
room between the door and the bed, and between the bed and the bathroom and/or
closet. The so-called community room had only a couch and a fridge - no microwave
for heating food. Besides that, it was dark and dismal. No wonder no one was ever
there.

Cold breakfast consists of packaged granola, yogurt, and so forth. It is minimal and unremarkable.

There is no feeling of caring or service at this Pension. It is just tourist digs. It has only
its location to keep it going. It does not compare to the three-star hotel where I
stayed next that cost 2/3 of what Green Garland cost.

Room Tip: There are no rooms on the ground floor so the climb is unavoidable. I would ask for photos of the ro...

Spent 5 nights in Prague and was very happy with our lodging at the Green Garland. The location is within easy walking distance to all of the sites, great restaurants and an excellent brew pub. The staff is very welcoming and willing to assist with all requests (including having tickets in-house for purchase for metro and various shows). Our room was comfortable, clean and very large (slept 3) and actually was a 2 room suite with a 3rd room - a shared kitchen to use. This made going the grocery store possible and eating a few meals at home. The breakfast was very good and the breakfast room large and bright. The Green Garland is a good value and I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Once you get the hang of how to unlock the front door it really isn't that difficult....but its...

This old 18th-century house has been converted into, I think eight rooms and is in a perfectly located street very close to the main square and also a number of very attractive restaurants. Our "room" was in fact a small suite: entrance hall which were used for luggage, bedroom on the left and bathroom on the right.Furnishings are"rustic" but perfectly serviceable. The room we had was heated but not I think air-conditioned.Breakfasts were in a cavernous ground floor room. Because of the location, we were able to walk everywhere.

it is situated on a very narrow street, virtually one-way, and is thus very quiet.

Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly and everything is spotless. We stayed there on the recommendation of a Czech friend and plan to return to Prague and stay again at the Green Garland.

Room Tip: Be specific when booking to get a description of available rooms. Some rooms have two single beds an...

My wife and I spent three nights at the Green Garland Pension.

It has the perfect location. You are in between the Old Town square and the Charles Bridge. Yet, it is also far enough off the main tourists streets, that it is peaceful and quiet at the Pension.

We had excellent service from booking, to arrival, to checkout! The staff is very willing and helpful, and will even book you a taxi if you require it.

The price is excellent especially for the the value of service and accommodations you receive! Our room was spacious and clean. The private bathroom was modern and clean. The continental breakfast was more than adequate. The Pension was quiet and safe (and who didn't love working the massive old Lion themed locks?).

We are recommending The Green Garland Pension to all of our friends traveling to Prague.
