“Christmas break”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 December 2013

Booked through saga holiday Christmas break. Nice clean room. Very hot, had to turn heating down but great in extreme cold weather. Food was fine, good breakfast, nothing out standing. Hotel near to metro 2stops to town centre. Staff in hotel pleasant enough.

Room Tip: 222 fine room view wood land

Lovely quiet room with large comfortable bed.High quality bathroom. This is a hotel aimed at the one night business user and not particularly good for our three night city break.Regretted taking half-board option as evening meal was served only in the bar and we were surrounded by business people using laptops and mobile phones and large, silent TV on wall.Only five options on menu and SAME menu each night. Prague is renowned for good draught beer, but not in this hotel.Buffet style breakfast is served in the restaurant.Hot food containers are not refilled when necessary and the overall temperature of the food is 'barely aired'. Diners were soon surrounded by used plates and dishes.Housekeeping failed to refill the tea/coffee making tray in our room throughout our three day stay.Had to source supplies ourselves via reception. Only powdered milk supplied. Location is excellent with subway and tram stops close by.

Room Tip: Street noise at the front of the hotel is not a problem as long as windows are kept closed. A/C is q...

I stayed just one night in this hotel. Everything was fine. The hotel is new, modern and close to the downtown. Just 150m from tube (metro) station B Andel. Room was very "fresh" and staff was friendly. If I compare another 4* hotels in Prague....this one is amazing.

The hotel is new and modern. My room was spacious and well appointed; it was furnished with a long desk, three armchairs and a small movable table. Furniture has been cleverly engineered: the bedside tables can be easily moved and used as additional tables; two of the armchairs can be fully slipped under the desk so as to gain space in the room. The beds are comfortable and extra-large, and the bedding is first class. The bathroom is rather small, but everything needed is there, including a tub and the hairdryer. There is an in-room safe and a coffee making facility, but there is no free water. The TV has several international news channels. There is air conditioning. The buffet breakfast is the usual one in this hotel category. There is a lobby with a small bar. On the whole, it is the typical business hotel: comfortable, efficient and no frills; the right place for a good sleep between two busy days.

The hotel is in the “Praga 5” neighbourhood, which is on the other side of the river Vltava (Moldau). The “Andel” station of Metro line B is about 300 metres away from the hotel; with this Metro it is possible to go downtown ( “Mustek” and Václavské Náméstí are only 2 stops away) or to the airport. Tram lines # 7, 12 and 20 stop at about 400 metres from the hotel: # 12 and 20 go to Malastranska, and are useful for tourism. The hotel is in a very peripheral area, overlooking a large freight-yard and a bus station: some shops and restaurants can be found about 700 metres away, at the far end of the Andel metro station. The area is airy and very quiet, day and night. The hotel can be easily reached from the airport with public transportation: take bus # 100, which goes to the terminus of Metro B; ride Metro B until the “Andel” station and then take the exit at the rear of the train; the hotel is 300 metres away, in front of you. The total transfer time is about 35-40 minutes and the ticket is the ordinary city ticket.

It has everything you need to make your stay unforgettable:
Confortable rooms (with a very very nice decoration), free Wi-Fi access, very nice and polite staff (they can speak several languages) and well connected to the main atractions of the city (metro is very near and extremely cheap if you compare to other European cities). What else you may need to have a nice holiday?

I REALLY RECOMMEND this hotel. Thank you very much for everything I will come back again!

Our travel agency booked us for three nights in this wonderful hotel and it was perfect for us. It was modern, had all the amenities we needed and a great loo action. It's close to a metro line so getting to any part of Prague was easy and inexpensive. Staff was very helpful and patient with a southern speaking tourist.

I stayed in Barcelo Praha 5 a couple of weeks back during my business visit and must say that the hotel came out to be a good one. It is located in Praha Five (Prague is divided into various districts 1, 2, 3 ....). The rooms were well setup and the restaurant in the hotel had pretty decent options for vegetarians like me. Breakfast had a good spread, and wifi connectivity was good.

There were quite a few restaurant options near to the hotel as well (do try StaropRamen brewery and bar closeby).

But do note that this hotel is not bang in the middle of Prague so you might have to do a little it of travelling to reach the key tourist places.
