“Good bar and restaurant”
Reviewed 14 September 2013

On entering we felt a little apprehensive as it looked and felt chaotic. No staff visible so we found a table and sat down. Within minutes a friendly waitress arrived with menus and took our drinks order. We ordered different typical local food which was excellent. No complaints on the food service or atmosphere.. But it can get very noisy and only the back room is non smoking. Also they do not accept bookings or credit cards. But if you are looking to mix with the locals and eat good food this is worth a visit.

“Surprisingly good!”
Reviewed 22 August 2013 via mobile

We came here the first night we were in Prague because we were in the area and this place had great reviews. When we first walked in my expectations for the food quality went way down because it appeared to be a run of the mill pub. When we actually got the food It was delicious and perfectly cooked. This reataurant has very reasonable prices as well. I would definitely eat here again.

“great home-style Czech food in unpretentious restaurant”
Reviewed 24 June 2013

This place is two doors down from our hotel (the wonderful Unitas), about seven minutes from the Old Town Square on a quiet side street. We had a very good meal here without a lot of fuss or fanfare. I recommend the roast duck with freshly made dumplings and the pork knee. The beer sausage appetizer was also terrific. We were the only non Czechs in the place; clientele ranged from friends in their twenties to families. The staff was friendly and spoke enough English to communicate effectively. This is a much better place than most you will find in the often unpleasant thick of things. Prices are very reasonable.

“Great find off the main streets”
Reviewed 17 June 2013

My wife and I prefer restaurants and bars that are a little off the beaten path. On our first day in town we stumbled on this place in New Town (but several blocks from Wenceslas Square). The service is typically Prague-ish - in but the server was friendly about my attempts at Czech, efficient with her English and patient with our questions. We were starving after long walks and an international flight - but we found the food and atmosphere to be quite lovely - if not a little too quiet (Sunday night). We started with beer of course, got a plate of cheese and beer... nothing fancy, but it was well done and the bread was good and fresh. I got the duck and dumplings. Both were really good. Must have used pork or duck drippings in the dumplings... they were savory and filling. The duck was well cooked and tender. Not too gamey. My wife got chicken breast and some seasoned mashed potatoes. They were well presented and tasted great as well. Chicken was tender. For our first restaurant out of the gate we were very pleased. Definitely worth going to.
