“Best place to stay in Prague”
Reviewed 28 August 2014 via mobile

Just returned from a four day visit to Prague . One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in . Location of the hotel is fantastic. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly. The manager of the hotel introduced herself and made every effort that our stay was memorable. When we arrived the check in was very different but was a really nice touch. We were dealt with by Hadi . His help and advice was superb ,and he is a real asset to the hotel.
The breakfast at the hotel was very nice as was the service. We also had some spa treatment at the hotel and my wife hasn't stopped raving.
Thank you for a wonderful stay and we will definitely recommend .

Loved our 3 night stay last weekend in Prague at the Emblem Hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Every detail was attended to. The rooms are quiet and clean. The location could not have been better. Loads of great restaurants nearby. The Spa was extra nice. If we get back to Prague I would not stay anywhere else.

The emblem is a boutique hotel in Prague with a great location. It's located between the old town square and the Jewish quarter. It's Close to restaurants, cafés, bars, and high brands' stores.
-The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and modern.
-The staff were super friendly.
- Breakfast was very good with many options.
Downside:
-wifi is not so good, it wasn't working at all in my room, so I had to work from a friends room, I informed the receptionist but nothing was done.
- The concierge recommendations were not consistent, we got amazing recommendations from some, on very touristy and generic recommendations from others.

Dear sir

I would like to thank you first and foremost for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are so happy that you had such a nice stay, and we really appreciate all of your kind words about our clean and modern rooms, our friendly staff, and our amazing breakfast. We also want to thank you for calling our attention to any inconsistencies with the WiFi or service that you experienced during your stay.

As all of our systems and our guests run on WiFi, we have heard yours (and others) concerns and have decided to invest in more appliances that will enable every single guest to connect to the Internet and use our super fast WiFi no matter where they are in the hotel. As you pointed out, it seems to be working well in one part of the building and less so in others. At this moment, I can do nothing but apologize for any inconvenience that this caused you during your stay. My staff should have offered a solution to the problem, and I will see to it that they do so in the future.

You also mentioned that our team was inconsistent in giving out recommendations for places to see and things to do. We use a list of places for our team members to recommend. This list is comprised of a variety of establishments, not only local favourites, but also places that may seem touristic but are actually ones we would recommend nevertheless. I have sent an email / message to you via TripAdvisor to see if you can help us find out which of these recommendations were not to your liking. We would love your feedback so that we can change and alter our list!

I would like to thank you again for sharing your experience. It is comments such as these that help us improve for other guests in the future.

I hope that we have the privilege of seeing you again at The Emblem!

Yours sincerely,

Helena Valtrova

Our first trip to Prague, and we couldn't have been happier.

Pro's:
1) Loction. Just two blocks to the square in one direction, two blocks to the bridge in the other, and one block to great shopping. Yet it was very quiet.
2) Service. These employees are young and not what you'd find at the Ritz. However, they are obviously well trained and supervised and bend over backwards to help and take great pride in their work. Great attitude!!
3) Breakfast, bar, steak house.
4) Cleanliness and wifi work greak.
5) SPA/workout room adequate. Not a healt club, but good enough.

Con's:
1) Small rooms. But beds are very comfy.
2) AC. Never did seem to work right.
3) Check-in. Its a bit weird.....no check-in desk. They seat you in a lounge and come sit next to you with an IPAD to check you in. Not really a con, just unusual, Heck, maybe its a new trend.

If you are looking for good value in a good location......I recommend the Emblem. We'll stay here again.

Although I'm American, I lived in Prague as a student and know it well. So a good location was key. In addition, since I was flying from Los Angeles to Prague, I wanted a luxurious place to stay. Emblem exceeded my expectations both as to location and luxury.

The hotel is very new and clean, and my room had a very high-end bathrooms. Hans Grohe Axor fixtures, rainshower, separate bathtub. Good minibar, comfortable bed. All-in-all a great room. Moreover, the staff was uniformly excellent.

Only issue, as noted here by other reviewers, is that the rooms are definitely on the small side. But they are not so small as to be uncomfortable, and I would view the location as compensating for the room size. One other minor issue: The spa's requirement for swimsuit in some of the wet spaces but not others was annoying. The wet area should all be clothing optional. It's Europe after all.

In deciding where to stay in Prague, I considered the Four Seasons, the Mandarin, and other high end hotels. Although the Emblem is not as spacious or "traditional" as the Mandarin or Four Seasons, it is a high quality hotel and better located. Think of it as a boutique, high-end W hotel. I will definitely stay there again.
