No words can describe our awsome 7 nights at Residence Retezova in Prague. The London Suite was large, elegant in decor and so clean. The upstairs balcony overlooking the city rooftops and church steeple was charming. The hotel is a very quiet retreat so close to the busy Old Town Square yet when you enter beyond the wooden doors, you feel as if you have escaped into your own peaceful oasis.
From the first greeting at check-in by Zuzana til our departure and checkout with Alex, all was a dream vacation. These two staff members spent so much special time with us answering so many of our questions and helping us book tours and giving us directions. Their English was great and their pleasant, warm, professional manner added to our feeling of your hotel being our home away from home. This hotel is to be complimented on their entire staff and their outstanding service.
The convenient location allowed us to see all of the area by walking to concerts, Charles Bridge, Jewish Quarter, shops, etc.
The staff even arranged for our taxi to and from the airport.
I am a retired career flight attendant, have traveled the world andcan highly recomment this hotel as one of the best places to stay. We hope to return again someday.

Agree with the last review. Stayed at the Madrid suite which for the 2 of us was simply huge with 15th century painted ceilings. TV had decent satellite channels and there is a kitchenette with tea and coffee facilities and if you are organised you can go to Tescos and cook your own breakfast. If you want to use the cafe attached to the hotel there is a decent contintental breakfast for 160Kc (about £4-5). Having said that I found a great English breakfast in a cafe next to the Paris hotel for about £4 with egg, baked beans and fantastic apple juice.
Only downside with the Madrid is that it only has a shower but that is a small blot on the landscape. This is an unusual but welcome change from the chains of hotels and decent value. On past visits have stayed at Jalta and Cloister Inn, both well rated but would definitely stay here again

The beauty of Prague's architecture & ambiance is captured in this hotel.

The location is top notch, within a 5 minute walk of the hotel is Charles Bridge & a wonderful view of the Prague Castle. Old town square with the astronomical clock is a 5 minute walk.

Beware the 211 steps up to the castle, a nice grog should help!

There are several nice restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk.
For those (18-30 year olds) who enjoy a drink then i would reccommend La Fabrique, a short walk away. Nice music, nice cocktails!

We stayed in the Rio de Janeiro suite for 3 nights, i would most definitely reccommend the Rio to coulples... a romantic courtyard & nice living area accompany a huge comfy bed & spotless bathroom. The only other room to have access to the courtyard is directly behind the reception desk.
The only change i would think of making would be to replace the 3 chairs in the living area with a nice sofa.

The staff are very nice, they will help with making reservations for tours & dinners.

Overall, i would stay here again if i ever return to this wonderful city.

Stayed at the three golden chain aparthotel from the 17th to the 20th of January. This place is the business!! Best location at a reasonable price! Apartments are small and compact but just what you need for a nice stay. Very, very clean accommodation with a great shower (something im picky about). Staff were very helpful and its just a small street away from the busy shopping centre of Prague. Would definately resommend this accommodation!

There's a suitable apartment for everybody, whether you want a small inexpensive but quirky apartment or a luxurious spaceous one.
We had a chance to look at all the rooms bar one.
Loved the small one with the mezzanine bedroom (cheap). The apartments called Roma and London were amazing. Not sure of the price but much more expensive. We stayed in Berlin at £86 a night for 2 nights. I would say the only drawback with this one is that it is the only apartment on the ground level right next to reception, so you could hear reception. Next time i would prefer one of the upstairs apts as you have better windows, light and ambience. Berlin is however unusual, gothic ceiling, semi-spiral staircase down to the bathroom and access to a little courtyard (shared). I think this one would be better in the summer because in summer bedroom window opens to cafe but in winter its bins! We found the stone floor cold - again wonderful in summer!
Reception staff charming. Nothing too much trouble, but unobstrusive unless asked. We couldn't believe we couldn't hear a single car from the place despite being 2 minutes walk from Charles Bridge. Easy access to cafe from Reception.
We would definately stay here again but take one the bigger rooms. Maybe bring the whole family.
They allow you to extend your stay by the hour, very reasonably, which is really useful because there are no reception rooms!
