Not exactly modern but very lush hotel. Excellent service from all the staff and the restaurant was amazing. Great location, not too far from anything really. We had a fantastic long weekend here. The concierge was very knowledgable, extremely courteous and even stood up every time she saw you walking towards her. Absolutely charming hotel with passionate staff. I would have no hesitation in choosing this hotel again. The airport transfer was seamless.

Left the hotel booking to my boyfriend, arrived at the hotel and not expecting much. Love the place; beautiful, nice, clean, lots of modern upgrades. Close to everything! Kudos to my man for finding it.

Whilst staying in an apartment in Prague we were looking for place to eat for breakfast. We stumbled across the Iron Gate Hotel. Although not the cheapest around it must be one of the best. We didn't stay at the hotel but would definitely recommend the breakfast.

As Prague is such a popular destination for tourist there is huge range of hotels to choose from. As we like having a second room we opted for a suite at the Iron Gate Hotel & Suites. On arrival we were given an upgrade and the suite we enjoyed was truly wonderful - full of character, had three toilets, a bath with shower and a jacuzzi together with a small kitchen area. Roof beams were everywhere which just added to the wonderful character of the room. Our son and girlfriend were also given an upgrade on their room - in their case they had a four storey suite which, with it's many spiral staircases, is clearly only suitable for the young and fit! The staff throughout the hotel were very helpful and took time to provide advice on getting around the city etc. Our stay was truly memorable and if and when we return to Prague we will look no further than the Iron Gate as the place to stay. The location is terrific being just a few minutes from the old square and ten minutes walk to the Charles Bridge.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the older historic rooms.

The staff at the Iron Gate was exceptionally friendly. The room was nice and the location of the hotel, just a few blocks from the main historical sites you will want to visit, can't be beat. I'd highly recommend this hotel if staying in Prague.

We were staying at the Iron Gate for a wedding which may have coloured my overall view slightly, the Iron Gate is a really well located hotel in Prague (old town) it is a wonderfull looking hotel with (in my opinion) fantastic rooms. Each room is decorated differently and we got a chance to see most of them and i liked them all to be honest, some are larger than others with seperate sitting rooms ,kitchens etc,all lovely decorated.
For a 5 star hotel there is just something lacking in the overall deal you get in the Iron Gate. The breakfasts are not great and the breakfast room is small and can get packed.
The staff were great, courteous informative and vey helpful.
The rooms were kept clean and the hotel overall was kept clean and tidy.
The iron Gate is in a great location for the tourist and is a good hotel just nmaybe not a 5 star hotel.

Room Tip: Do some research on the internet about the rooms and try and get the one you like the best.

We spend few days at the Iron Gate in April 2013 in a Royal Suite, but even considering the location and the aged building, 5 stars is far too high from what the hotel offers. even the price of the garage is a 5 stars: 30€ a day ...out of reality when you can have a nice lunch for 4 perosns in town with the same price.
Room was nice and clean, but unfortunaly no WiFi in room, and with 4 wifi devices is hard to keep connections.
Forget the breakfast; the buffet is really poor and the room is so small that some time you have to wait your turn. No fresh juice and fresh yogurt, no fresh patisserie, fruit selection is poor and coffee is orrible. If you want to have a quite and relax breakfast dont go there, cause staff is noising rushing to clean tables to let other guest have their breakfast, and rock music is totally out of the atmosphere sld fill a location like this.
We didn't use the restaurant of the htl cause we hear other guest complaining about it.
Nice building, good location to vist Praha, but no value for the money they ask for. From a 5 stars hotel we expect much much more.
