“A fine place for tourists”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

The location is excellent, because it is near the Charles Bridge, and visiting the Old Town square is also just a 10-min's walk. At the same time, because it is on a small road, it is calm during the day and night, so we were not disturbed by the excited tourists as we were in other places. (But, there is a machine that is very noisy near our room and we don't know where it comes from.)The room is large, which is pleasing, but the facilities are not so satisfying. The kitchen is small, and it seems that there is not a boiler, so we had to use the steamer to boil the water. The bed is strangely soft, and the quilt is small, however, all of us are so tired at night that it is not a big deal. The breakfast is a little boring, because there are not many options.
Nevertheless, nearly no distance to famous tourist attractions is a great advantage. Still, it is good for tourists to stay.

Room Tip: At least the cheaper the room is, the worse the quality is. :-)

The hotel is very simple.

No air con in the room made it very hot.

However having old towels in the is not so nice. Also the pillows were strange, old..

The cleaning while staying in the room was hidious since they did not change the towels and barely cleaned at all except the bathroom.

The upside is that it's very central located. The reception were welcoming showing out sights on the map when arriving.

So if you don't care to much about standards it's fine for a few nights.

Otherwise I would recommend to pay more in another hotel.

In a 3 star hotel I expect clean nice towels, lcd and aircon in the room and a good cleaning.

The hotel is at a very good location, the staff tending reception are very friendly and very possitive. The breakfast was very good and plenty as expected. The apartment could have a fan in the room, now I know I could require air conditioning,

Four of us stayed here the end of Feb 2014, it seems to be a place where groups of school children stay however this wasn't an issue. we were greeted really well by reception staff who kept our valuables in their safe for us at no cost as we didn't have a room safe.
the room was basic but clean and did exactly what we needed it to for a cheap city break, I don't want luxury just comfort as it is literally somewhere to sleep and shower!
breakfast was continental with a good range of items on offer, tea coffee juice, cakes cereals, sausage, scrambled egg ,toast, fruit, meats . cheese etc.
It has a bar and restaurant attached although we didn't eat there it was great for grabbing a drink after a day of sightseeing. i would definitely stay there again if I visit Prague in the future which i fully intend to do .
It is within approx 5-10 minutes walk away from Charles bridge and approx 15 mins from Wenceslas square in the other direction.

No air con created a catalogue of issues. The rooms were roasting in the 30 degrees- and no fans the windows open then it felt the whole of Prague's population and most of its visitors were outside in the cobbled street. The two were without doubt the worst and interrupted sleeps ever. Struggling find any positives or reasons why you might stay- I guess on the winter would be fine, there is an ATM right outside and the location great. There is undercover parking although you could save the 25 Euro charge per night and park out on the street- not that reception will confirm that you can. Breakfast is a huge carb fest with shocking coffee. Better options in the area ie just across the road at the Cloisters Inn- they have air con.......

Dear client, I would first of all like to thank you for taking the time to provide us with your valuable feedback regarding your recent stay with us. I would like to offer my sincere apologies that aspects of your recent stay failed to meet your expectations but I would like to clarify two important points : first of all as a famly standard 3 stars Residence Bologna doesn't have air conditioning expect the suite on the top floor infact there are just some Superior rooms that are bigger, and have air-conditioning..
We always suggest to have a look on our site, because of the differents options. Classical, moderrn style., attic, suite, We are trying to improve ourselves.
The second thing regarding the parking please note that 25 EUR is a very good price for Prague center because you cannot park in front of the hotel and all Prague 1 if you don't have a blue card that you are residents.

If you require further information please don’t hesitate in contacting me directly at the hotel.Regards

While visiting Prague for the first time we had no clue where we should stay. This hotel was a great choice. Just a couple minute was to some of the biggest areas to see. Great good in the morning to start your day. Wifi is only on the first floor maybe the second if you are lucky but. But if you are in Prague there is no reason to stay on wifi. Room was nice had a kitchen and dining area. Beds are small and not the most comfy things to sleep on but for the price and location it's well worth the price. While there we walk everywhere.

The central location is the keyword for this place . It is conveniently located to the old town and the riverside and the market square .You can walk everywhere and if u have to go further take a tram or taxi . The hotel itself has suites which were good for us as we were travelling with young children . It retained the old atmosphere with some old paintings and furniture . The rooms could do with better beds and mattresses., and darker curtains .there is a kitchenette with the basics available but some sachets of tea, coffee ,milk and sugar would have been appreciated . The staff was friendly but the management rigid .We had to adjust our reservations slightly but ended up paying for a room we didn't use as they refused to make any adjustment or even meet us halfway .Breakfast was reasonable .there are a lot of eating places nearby in close proximity.on the whole a good stay.

Room Tip: Choose the room facing the Main Street and not the inner courtyard if possible.

Dear Charmwood, Many thanks for taking the time to write a detailed feedback of your recent stay at Residence Bologna .. All your comments have been taken on board , so thank you for sharing them with us and with the team . Our team takes comments from guests extremely seriously as they feel very committed to the place.Regarding the ended up taht you were paying for a room you didn't use it is not that we refused to make any adjustment but you booked a non refundable rate and we are in high season and we could have sold this room without any problem so you must understand that for us , it was difficult to refund you.You have to read carefully before makin the booking online, honestly normally we are flexible if hotel is not full and not in high season. hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Residence Bologna - Best regards-
