Very convenient hotel near the end of the Charles Bridge on the Mala Strana side.Rooms well appointed and comfortable.Reception staff excellent and helpful re restaurants and general directions in this wonderful city.
Milan, the driver was punctual, helful and most courteous-he made our time in Prague so much easier.
Only caveat is that there is no elevator(it is a very old buiding that has been totally modernised)Our first night was spent on the 4th floor in a very quaint room in the eaves-fortunately Milan took the bags up the stairs.Second night we were moved down to the first floor which was much easier. For senior citizens this is very important!

Room Tip: Get a room on the first or second floors.

Can I rave? You know that TV commercial where the dad is dragging his tired family through a hotel corridor, opens the room door, and they all stand slack jawed looking at the huge room with the awesome view? Well, for once in a lifetime, that was our very pleasant experience.

Our corner room overlooked the tower over the Charles Bridge. We stepped out of our "secret door" right into the thick of things. The best buskers in town were within 20 feet. (I love a good busker, and Prague has a cornucopia). There is a "bio" (organic) grocery directly across the street, and you should really try the restaurant around the corner called "Little Whale". Trams to more far flung areas were right up the hill.

Our room was big- bigger than our daughter's apartment in Germany. Our bathroom was the size of the one at home, which is a big bathroom. Separate shower and tub in our room. The room had comfortable seating, a "real" desk, tons of places to put things, CD player, even a dressing room area. And it was spotless. The bed was awesome, just layer after layer of down duvets, pillows, more pillows, like a swimming pool of down.

The front desk people were very helpful and friendly, and seemed happy to see us and talk to us. They were very gracious about letting us drop our luggage off before check-in, as well as leave it afterwards

Although we were right above street level, the fans they thoughtfully left in our room wiped out any street noise, and helped cool the room, since it was pretty warm weather. . Unlike our experience in other European cities, the noise died off at a reasonable hour anyway, and btw, had it not, there's an app for that. Download the whitenoise app Ambiance before you leave on your trip. It is a godsend if you're from the 'burbs and not used to noise.

This has to have been in my top two or three hotel experiences EVER. I felt like a luxury traveler on a cheapskate budget. I am begging my friends to make a girlfriend trip to Prague, and there's no question where we will stay when we go back.

One heads up for those with movement issues, there is no elevator. This is a very old building-we saw it on a 3d wood carving from 1630 up at the cathedral. The steps are steep and narrow, but not overwhelming. If you can manage it, you won't be disappointed.

I can't recommend this hotel enough. THIS is what you dream about when you plan a European vacation back in your little old house in Mableton, GA, while the dogs snooze in your lap.

Room Tip: Didn't see any other rooms, but #1 was surely a suite! Try the Little Whale restaurant around t...

We're just back from a fantastic three nights at the Domus Balthasar. It's in a great location, about 100 metres from the Charles Bridge and within walking distance of all the major sights, from the Old Town to the Castle. Despite its central location, it's very quiet inside the hotel.

We stayed in the attic room, number 8. Probably not my best idea, as my boyfriend is six foot five and struggled a little with the ceiling height, particularly in the bathroom, but anyone six foot or below should have no problems. The room was beautifully laid out and spacious. The hotel's eight rooms are spread over four floors and there's no lift, but we felt that the upstairs hike balanced out all the holiday food and drink!

Breakfast is in Bohemia Bagel next door. The pancakes with maple syrup are very tasty, and the coffee is good.

It's fairly easy to get to the hotel from the airport, via the 119 bus to Dejvicka and a short metro hop to Malostranska, which is close by.

Staff are extremely helpful and speak very good English. Definitely hoping to go back soon!

Room Tip: Attic room 8 is beautiful, but maybe to be avoided if you're particularly tall!

When we arrived we were astounded by the "secret" entrance to the hotel and the ridiculously large room. We were not expecting such a unique experience. The staff was great, the location great, the room was great, only the breakfast leaves something to be desired. Well, that and the hilariously outdated collection of DVDs available for borrowing at the front desk. Seriously, this is one of the best experiences we've ever had in a hotel.

Small hotel in historical building few meters from famous Charles Bridge. Location is the best asset on other hand if you like quiet street this is a problem because under your window is the "main" touring route. Rooms are big, no A/C just fan, as any small old house this building has no elevator, if you don't like stairs don't book. You can get breakfast in bagel shop round the corner or any other coffee places around. Tram stop is approx. 400 meters away. Reception desk stuff is very nice and helpful.

Domus Balthasar is nearly of all most popular sights within easy reach on foot or by tram. Although is situated in the centre, also in a neighborbood of nicest parks. Business centers easily accessible. It is the ideal place for a holiday as well as for an enjoyable business trip. The building's history goes back to the 14th century, though the fittings are either modern or timeless. We do our best to respect history while at the same time respecting the current needs and tastes of our guests. Our interiors are made warm by wooden, atypical furniture with clean lines in dark colours which combines well with the light, creamy tones of the carpets, curtains and other decorations. Hotel has 8 rooms including 2 Double attic rooms, 3 generously spacious deluxe double rooms, 2 Suites with kitchenette and 1 Royal. Please notice our historic house uniquely located within an UNESCO listed World Heritage Site does not have an elevator.
