“Awful hotel!!!!”

Although, this hotel is situated in the center of the city,I really hated my stay there. The worst thing about this hotel is its stuff attitude to visitors.Stuff was impolite and rooms were dirty. My holiday was screwed up because of this hotel.I would never like to return there.

We just returned from our trip to Prague and Alton Hotel made our staying perfect.
It is just outside the Pavlova metro station. If you choose the Pavlova exit, go up the stairs, turn around, cross the street and you're just in front of the hotel.
The check in went fast, we got our room on the 4th floor and it had the most beautiful view you could ever imagine. We could see the lights of Saint Vitus Cathedral, the castle and the tower on Petrin Hill at night.
The room was spacious and clean. The only thing that bothered us was the fact that the double bed was actually made of two single beds.
There were minus 11 degrees Celsius outside at night, but the room was so warm, the heating did the job.
There were only 7 or 8 tv channels on our tv set, but we didn't even have time to watch tv, cause we wandered around the city from morning to night.
We were very delighted every morning at breakfast. There wasn't a single thing missing there. Fried eggs, boiled eggs, sausages, emmental and ham, butter and cheese, four types of cereals, milk, coffee, tea, four types of juice, pastry, fruits and everything we needed to start our day perfectly.

Room Tip: Room 404 is probably the best in the hotel!

Central location and public transport very close. The room was clean and cosy. Breakfast was varied even though the quality was not the best...but it was more than enough to kick-start your day.
The only downside was that I could smell smoke coming from the other rooms, but obviously this was caused by other fellow guests.
Overall: good value for money

I visited Praha in the first week of October 2012 and stayed at the Hotel Alton for 2 nights. It was a satisfying experience, within a moderate budget (double bed room at 76 Euros a night, inclusive of VAT). It is situated in Legerova and the location of the hotel steals the deal at the price point. I wanted to have a summary view of the city in 1 day and hence opted for the very convenient Hop-on Hop-Off bus tours, which had a boarding point just at the gate of the hotel. The room was decently clean and well-maintained with all required amenities and a TV. Breakfast was included within the room rent and I must say that the food exceeded my expectations. Whether you are a vegetarian or a non-vegetarian, there is ample to choose from. Unfortunately though, we did not have much of a view from our hotel as it is situated on a busy street, but then that is the price I was ready to pay for a convenient location. Bus-stops, train & metro stations, restaurants and bars are all within a few minutes walking from the hotel. The receptionist/staff are quite helpful and even let me keep my luggage for 4 hours after check out time. There is also the provision of buying tickets for various events/hop-on hop-off from the hotel desk itself, with minimal extra charges/commissions. To sum it up, it was a very good choice within a modest budget.

Room Tip: Take a main street facing room, otherwise a higher building guards the entire view.

I stayed at the Hotel Alton for three nights at the end of September. It is located in New Town, not too far from Old Town by foot; bus and metro stops are in the immediate vicinity. Restaurants and cafes close-by, and even a couple of 24-hour minimarts! The train station is a good 15 minute walk, or you can take public transportation to get there.

Staff was friendly and helpful in a genuine way. Included breakfast was not bad at all - coffee/tea, juices, breads and jams, meat and cheese, cereal. My room was clean and had decent furnishings, including a mini-fridge.

Hard to beat the location and accommodations at this price-point.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the street; the Czech police like to lean on their sirens all of the time...

the hotel was in the new town of Prague,on walking distance from the old town. very basic, but a very friendly reception, large room and perfect breakfast. the only negative point was, that the beds were very very hard, so for me it was almost impossible to sleap the whole night. so if you have a good back, than it's worth to go there!
