We picked this hotel for its central location near all the touristy parts of Prague - and we were not disappointed. It was right in the heart of everything and good value. The room we had was wonderfully spacious with older style furniture and wooden floors, but that didn't detract - it was what I wanted from "Old Town Prague". It was clean and the bed linen fresh and spotless. The bathroom was also large with a modern suite.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful - providing maps and advice on tourist information - and even though we arrived well before our check-in time, we were able to leave our bags in a lock-up room, and again, on the day of our departure, they were happy for us to leave our suitcases at the hotel until our evening flight.
Breakfasts were excellent - buffet style - with as much as you wanted to eat and although we didn't find the time to try any, the cakes in the cafe at the front of the hotel, looked delicious aswell.
I only have one negative comment and that is that the rooms on the front of the hotel (on Celetna) were incredibly noisy at night. I only have one negative comment and that is that the rooms on the front of the hotel (on Celetna) were incredibly noisy at night. Because it is a pedestrian only street, and also the main route down towards the Old Town Square, the party revellers must use it as the best route to walk home - often in a very drunk and noisy fashion! (Beer in Prague is cheaper than a lemonade!) We were disturbed on and off throughout each night by drunken parties of people singing, shouting etc. The rooms are not air conditioned so, as it was summer, we had to have our windows open, but of course that compounded the problem.
Having said that, I would definitely return to this hotel as everything else about it was wonderful - but I would make absolutely sure I had a room on the other side of the hotel!
My top tip for extra fun in Prague, is to take a tour of the city on a Segway - brilliant fun!More
