“Great price for historic Prague experience!”
Reviewed 8 July 2014

If you are looking to experience a small piece of European history, staying in this hotel will fit the bill. If you are looking for an upgraded hotel with modern conveniences, keep looking. It was a cool experience staying in one of the beautiful old buildings that Prague is known for. The location cannot be beat as it's just around the corner from the Old Town square and within walking distance of everything. The staff, that all speak English very well, was just wonderful during for our 4 night stay. We had reserved a "superior" room which was very large in size, which I recommend you do as their standard basic room is very small, as our traveling partners found out and ended up demanding a larger room. We believed we booked a room with air conditioning, and all we had was a small table fan to keep us cool, but the good thing about the fan is that the noise from the fan blocked out all the noise from the street outside. The interior of the hotel was extremely quiet as we never heard any noise from the other rooms in the hotel. The room we stayed in had a beautiful view that overlooked the cathedral that was just magical to wake up to every morning and fall asleep to every night (see photo). The downside is there was a lot of traffic and people noise outside our room at all hours of the night on the street (we were on the second floor), so if you are a light sleeper, request a room overlooking the courtyard instead of the street. The hotel is under renovations on the outside and will be beautiful when it's done. I hope they are going to renovate the rooms as well as they are very outdated (old curtains, old towels with holes, need to refinish the wood floors, upgrade the mattress that is very hard, etc.). It is better to make your reservation directly through the hotel website as you will get daily breakfast and a free one-way airport transfer included. Wifi was also free and worked very well in our room. If you are looking for Hilton standards, this will not be the hotel for you. If you want to truly experience historical Prague, this hotel is a great way to go and at a decent price.

We stayed at the hotel in mid May. The location cannot be beat, it's a two minute walk to the Stare Mesto, and walkable to all major points of interest in Prague. The included breakfast was pretty good. The staff, all or most of whom speak English, was very helpful, including helping arrange a car to pick us up at the airport and helping with train tickets to our next destination. Our room was pretty basic - not much in the way of decorations, no air conditioning, and the room was fairly outdated. Also, our room was above the street, so it was pretty loud at night (but note that this should not be an issue for most of the rooms at the hotel - simply ask for an interior room).

We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: As mentioned, I would suggest asking for an interior room as those on the street will be noisy.

The location of this place is amazing! It's right near all the tourist spots and you can walk to all the places of interest. We had a very late flight booked so had emailed ahead to ask if it was possible to check in after their check in time had closed and they were very accommodating, we also used their taxi service from the airport which was great for the price.
Our room was huge with vintage pieces of furniture which I love, and both the bathroom and bedroom had underfloor heating so it was lovely and warm.
Our room overlooked the street, so you could hear some noise from outside but nothing to trouble us. Annoying things were that the wifi did not reach our room, even though we were only on the first floor but with so many bars around with free wifi, this wasn't the end of the world. The most annoying thing was there was no hook for the shower head in the bathroom so you either had to have a bath or try and shower in the bath, but with no shower curtain it did mean alot of water went everywhere! Quite annoying trying to wash my hair over the side of the bath too. But if you're only staying for a few days, then it's fine to manage with.
The courtyard is lovely and we were lucky enough to have some sunshine to sit out in it, but I can imagine in the summer it would be fabulous.
I wouldn't bother with breakfast here though as it's expensive for what you get and the food isn't really worth it. This was the only let down for the place. There are so many bakeries and cafes around though that you're not spoilt for choice.
Overall, superb value for money, amazing location and comfortable and clean rooms. I will certainly recommend to any friends going to Prague.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the courtyard for less street noise

A wonderful little hotel; right in the centre of Prague. As far as a location goes you cannot find anything better. The rooms are very spacious and have unique futures, in our room 32, for example, the bathroom, was located via 7 steps down in a separate chamber to the utmost delight of my teenage girls. The stuff is friendly and helpful and would go out of their way to make you comfortable. The coffee shop next to the reception provides delicious cakes and I only regret that we didn’t have a chance to sample them all! Yes, the decor is slightly shabby, but beds are comfortable, breakfast delicious and rooms clean. If you fancy something out of the common way, I would strongly recommend this little gem in the centre of Prague! We are already thinking about coming back.

Room Tip: if you are a family of 3, ask for the room 32. Kids love the ideaof a bathroom, which has to be reac...

This hotel is in a great location (less than a minute from old town) and the breakfast was pretty good. However, the room left a lot to be desired. Lack of hot water and not very comfortable bed. Staff quite friendly and wi fi good.
