1GREAT LOCATION its in the center, 2 minutes walk from the Old Town square, and 5 minutes walk from both Charles Bridge and Wencleslas Square.
2NOT EXPENSIVE
negative
1POOR BREAKFAST
2 NO ELEVATORY

In general, (for standart double room) don't have high expectations, because you are going to stay in B&Bs..

We visitied in June 2011. We stayed in room 1 (I think). It was huge, maybe the largest room I have ever stayed in. The room was dark, and had an old world feel to it (dark wood, huge four poster bed, with good clean sheets, decent mattress & bedding) but that is something evident in the photos, and certainly if you drew back the giant velvet curtains, the light would pour in. In other words, I had an expectation, and I got what I thought I had bought.
Internet access was only available in the breakfast and bar area due to poor wifi reception. They were very happy for us to sit there at any time. To put this in context, these two areas are in a part of the building that was built in 1392!
Breakfast was good, and included cooked breakfast to order (eg ham and eggs).
Because we did not need to open the windows, we can't tell if late evening noise was an issue ... also it might be that some rooms are affected by this more than others. The staff were friendly. Although we did not require this service, I saw them offer to make an early packed breakfast for some people who had to leave before breakfast started.
Prague is a small city - and with so many places to see in the historic centre meant that staying here, we could regularly go back to the hotel and drop things off, collect whatever, check email, have a rest.
We ate at the adjoining restaurant - excellent food, and live music on saturday night (but thankfully, not too loud).
If you want to feel a bit of history, and "get into Prague" then I highly recommend staying in an old hotel such as this one.
I shall certainly be encouraging my friends to stay here.

This was the nicest place we stayed during our trip to Czech Republic and Austria. We had 2 rooms with 2 bathrooms in a convenient location in the Stare Mesto. Service was excellent. When we told staff that we needed to leave before breakfast the next day, they prepared us a breakfast plate the night before.

Place here because of double boking in original hotel. Very disappointed. The standard room is not the best, very dark, wall paper coming off wall, shower head would not move so sprayed the wall rather than the body. Noisy at night - staff emptying bottles and regular smoke breaks on the terrace. Room not cleaned for two of a four day stay but it is in a great location.

One of the staff members amusing - he could not speak English without swearing

Would I use again - NO!

We stayed at the Seven Angels for 3 nights at the beginning of July. The city is great, a living museum of architecture with lots of charm and bars, restaurants, theaters and musical venues and the "hotel" has a great location! Unfortunately the staff at the reseption/restaurant seemed rather indifferent to our presence and our needs (we have travelled quite a lot all over the world and stayed at low cost as well as luxury accomodations, but we have rarely encountered a less service minded attitude than here). Our room was spacious and clean, small bathroom thought. The room was on the roof, like a greenhouse with a glass roof and one glass wall. This was charming, but with only a fan (no proper A/C) we consider ourself lucky as we had grey weather (otherwise we might have been "boiled"). If you consider location more important that friendly and attentive staff, you will probably like it here.

5 of us (myself, my husband, my mother, and our 2 teenage boys) stayed at 7 Angels this past spring. The staff was very nice and was available even though we were arriving late in the evening. We had a first floor suite in the back of the courtyard. This was a very large suite with 3 rooms and 2 full baths. Had plenty of room for all. Room was very quiet at night. Breakfast was wonderful (you get a lot to eat!)--bacon & eggs, cold meat plate, or fruit plate are available (+ cereal). Also had a very nice dinner here one evening. The property is located just a 5 minute walk from Old Town Square. This is a very convenient location and allows you to go back and forth to the room during the day. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Prague.

Hotel 7 Angels is in a great location. It's a two minute walk to the Old Town Square and just a few minutes from the Charles Bridge. The room was okay - nothing special but it had a comfortable bed and a small but functioning bathroom.

Our room faced the inner courtyard. It is not a pretty courtyard and people used it for smoking breaks. Employees would loiter in the courtyard well into the evening and the noise was enough to keep us awake. The room itself was down an inside hall, up a flight of stairs, around the outside balcony that surrounded the courtyard - it was a bit inconvenient and awkward getting to the room.

The restaurant next door is very expensive and very good. We didn't know about the 15% discount for guests - it's irritating to find out about that only after you get home. Breakfasts are full service - made-to-order omelets (which were delicious) and all the trimmings - and it comes free with the room. However, they only serve breakfast from 9:00 am - 10:00 am.

We found the staff to be a bit pretentious. They weren't overly helpful but they weren't surly, either. Overall, we would probably not stay here again but it's not a bad choice if you want a room near the center of the Old City with a huge and tasty breakfast. Just don't expect service with a smile.

  • Liked — Location and fantastic breakfast
  • Disliked — Noisy courtyard, pretentious staff
