This boutique hotel is very well situatedat the Old Town Square. Most of the places we wanted to visit were within easy walking distance and there are 3 metro stations not too faraway. It is also surrounded by many shops and restaurants.
Our superior room was spacious & bright and the bed nice & comfortable. Despite it being winter & low season, the breakfast buffet laid out each morning was very good.
THe best part of our stay were the staff. The staff at the front desk & the restaurant were very warm, friendly & helpful, always ready with a greeting and eager to engage in at least a short conversation. They were even willing to reassign an arriving guest to another room so that we could have a late check-out.

The location of this hotel just off the Old Town Square is perfect. It is 5 minutes walk from Wenceslas Square (which is mainly department stores) and 5 minutes from Charles Bridge. We had 3 or 4 days in early January here and whilst it was cold outside, it was lovely and warm in the hotel. The staff were excellent, particularly Bianca on reception who gave us good advice on how to get to places and Patrik with general advice, especially on where to catch trams. The breakfast are excellent, served in the library/lounge alongside the bar (although I rarely saw anyone use the bar except for the odd afternoon coffee). There is also a computer and printer in the library, useful for printing off boarding cards and checking in (although watch the keyboard as you constantly have to change the language). The rooms are very spacious, clean and well decorated. Beds are comfy, although we had two singles pushed together as a double which was not ideal. The view was of the rear of Tyn Church and a quiet courtyard overlooking an Italian Restaurant. There is an exceptional Indian restaurant 2 mins away around the back of Tyn church in the courtyard on the right. Also, a lively pub just to the right (and then left) of the hotel entrance. All in all probably one of the nicest hotels in Prague and the staff are so helpful and kind - they sent a car to pick us up at the airport and even left a surprise bottle of champagne in our room for my wife's birthday - very nice to come back to after a hard day walking the cobblestones. Well done all at the Ventana - we will be back soon!

While this boutique hotel is rated as 5 stars, I don't think I would necessarily agree with that, but it is a very good 3-4 star hotel, and that is reflected in the price.
The location is perfect in that it is 50m from the main square in the Old City, but quiet and not affected by the noise there. It is 2 minutes walk from the upmarket shopping at Parizska Street, 5 minutes from the modern new town shopping area, and in the heart of the Old City. It is also excellent value for money.
We had a room on the 4th floor with a lounge below (contains a large couch which converts into a double bed, armchair, kettle/minibar, cupboards and flat screen TV) and a mezzanine level with a king sized double bed and 2nd TV. There is also an area of 1m x4m to place suitcases etc out of the way on the lower level, as well as a large nicely tiled & marble bathroom, containing single basin, toilet, bidet, bath with shower over it. This is my first gripe, the horrible shower, - a plastic curtain with the shower positioned poorly and very low pressure made showering unpleasant. The room is large and they really should take out the bidet and there would be plenty of room for a separate shower. The rooms and the hotel in general is attractive with a reasonably upmarket feel and and is spotlessly clean.
My 2nd gripe is that although the hotel advertises "central air-conditioning with individual controls in each room" this is an overstatement, we couldn't get it to cool the room at all, the staff explained it wasn't really individually adjustable but set for the hotel as a whole, and they managed to obtain 2 fans for us otherwise we wouldn't have coped, and frankly, in summer it would be incredibly hot in these top floor rooms so I wouldn't stay here in summer. The double bed on the top level was comfortable, the pillows were synthetic and bulky so not comfortable although I didn't try to see if they could provide feather or down pillows as I had brought a down pillow with me. My 13 year old daughter complained the pull out couch was not comfortable, the "mattress" too thin and the bed too short. There is no view from these rooms unfortunately but there are electrically adjustable skylights (blind and open/closing can be done electrically).
The included breakfast buffet was standard 3 star fare, but the eggs were poorly done in bulk- fried or scrambled, cooked in bulk and placed in a hot tub, nothing made to order except proper espresso coffee/cappuccino which was nice. I would suggest book room only and have breakfast in one of the numerous restaurants around the square, there is a huge choice of places within literally 100-200m radius and food there is very cheap.
The staff are always smiling and pleasant and keen to help, and arranged a very nice 6 hour Prague Tour for us. Most of them speak excellent English. There are no other facilities such as Sauna, Steam Room, Gym or Spa. I would think of coming back to this hotel, but not in summer as the room would be too hot.

Room Tip: The rooms with a mezzanine floor for a bedroom and pull out double bed in a couch on the lower floor are great for families but NOT in summer when they would be to hot.

As previous people have commented, this gem of a hotel is situated beside Old Town Square. We stayed in a standard room on the second floor, which was well presented, spacious and very clean. Breakfast was of a good standard with plenty of choice. The staff were very helpful and always greeted us with a smile. Due to a early morning departure the staff arranged for the taxi transfer which worked very well.
The complimentary afternoon tea or mulled wine for the guests is a great idea after a long day sightseeing, it was a shame it was underused as was the bar on a evening.
If you are looking for a good boutique hotel close to everything Prague has to offer, this is it, I would defiantly use it again.

Room Tip: Rooms further back from the staircase are quieter.

The Ventana Hotel is ideally situated beside the Old Town Square. It is within easy walking distance of the Powder Tower and Wenclaslas Square. The rooms are delightfully chic having sofa TV etc downstairs and the bed and bathroom being on an overlooking balcony. breakfast choice was good with a nice variety of food choices. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there again on my next visit to Prague.
