“Great Value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

My girlfriend and I stayed in Hotel Louis Leger in January, 2013 (Unavailable in selection box) for 5 nights. We were booked in by our travel agent, as it fit the needs we expressed to them. We were incredibly happy, the room we stayed in was a great size, a very comfortable bed, and very warm considering the temperatures outside were well below 0.

Although it's not right in the city centre, it's only a short stroll through some beautiful scenery away.

We had free breakfast with our room, and it was brilliant, with a selection of different food each morning available. We ate at the restaurant one night for dinner, we were the only patrons that night and got the chance to really speak to the staff. We were presented with 3 beautiful courses, and the stand-out for me on the night was the Czech Lentil soup entrée.

We cannot speak Czech, the staff were very accommodating for us, speaking fluent English.

I was originally booked to a sister hotel closer to the centre (hotel Brixen) but for undisclosed reason moved to the Louis Leger. All that in a rain storm, after 9pm. Wasn't happy to find that, to get to the lobby, I had to move my tired wet body and two suitcases up the substantial staircase. And do not let them give you a room 509 - suffocatingly hot in spite of opened window, too soft bed (at least for me) and thin walls enabling to hear everything from the next room bathroom and a corridor. There is only one lift and, again, stairs to get to the room.
Not happy, will not be back.

Room Tip: Not sure, stayed only one night and can recommend to avoid the room 509.

We were originally booked into a sister hotel further out of town but the hotel reservation system 'screwed up' so we were moved to the Louis Leger. On arriving the staff were very attentive but sent us to a room that had not been made up. This was at 6.30 in the eve! We spent the first night in a small room and transferred to the original room the following day. This room was large although basic for a 4*. Perhaps Czech 4* is different to the UK's?.

Breakfast were in the hotel restaurant and were plentiful but not varied. The restaurant did evening food but only advertised pizzas so we did not try it. When in Rome!

Throughout our stay the service from the reception staff was very good.

Rooms were ok, but not as nice as shown on picture, TV without all the basic channel selections, fridge didn´t work.
Family room was far too noisy at night as windows face a very busy road, thin walls and creaky floors, beds were quite old and uncomfortable.

Our biggest complaint is about the terrible car park, as infact we chose this hotel specifically for the "safe" parking.
It has a very narrow entrance/tunnel through to a courtyard, directly from the very busy 3 lane highway.

We damaged our vw golf trying to get into carpark, this was after expressing concerns over the entrance & parking facility but no alternative was offered - so we were left with no choice but to try.
So please don´t choose the secure parking option unless you have a very small car or nerves of steel, as there is no room to straighten up safely without reversing (getting out was ok with assistance).

Next day our complaint was totally ignored by the rude manageress who instead of saying sorry, preferred to try and make us look stupid. Manageress says she parks her Audi A6 there everyday, but in 3 days we didnt see any Audis there.
According to staff and the marks on the gates that I photoed we are not the only ones who have damaged our car!
We also found out afterwards the hotel does have an alternative car park available but it wasnt offered to us!

The manageress is cleary inexperienced and needs a lesson in understanding and customer service so that in future she will know how to deal with customers who already have suffered.

All other staff that we dealt were pleasant and friendly.

An Ok hotel for ok price, reasonable location (its not worth 4 stars though)
Unfortunately we cannot recommend it because of our bad experience with parking and manageress.

We think hotel should be honest and advertise the restrictions on parking, maybe offer valet parking??? and the manageress needs to learn when to say sorry!

Oh, and of course we were told to pay for parking in full!

Room Tip: Not facing the road, back of hotel

We stayed in this hotel in the June 2014 and I can recommend it to everyone who is looking for a nice hotel in the center of Prague with delicious breakfast for a very low price. We ordered a room for four people which was beatiful.

I have opportunity to compare with European 3 stars hotels and must say it is not up to the four stars. Neglected interiors and furniture, heat and noise. Punk receptionist.

Well, othervise good position towards city centre, breakfast choice ok, but somewhat cheap, cleaning service ok, TV ok.
