“Fine hotel for the price”
Reviewed 14 July 2011

Stayed there for three nights in March 2011. The main draw was the price offer which was fantastic. The room was basic and fine ans the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. It's about 10 minutes walk to Wenceslas Square and there are a few nice bars within walking distance of the hotel too. Breakfast was adequate and did the job. Also free WIFI was provided. Would happily stay again.

Warning - This hotel took unauthorised money from our credit card because we left customer feedback they did not like. - DO NOT STAY HERE

We booked an apartment room via Booking.com. The hotel will try and claim you booked a double room, then they charge your card after you check out (using the imprint of your card you gave at check in) saying you upgraged to a better room!!

The staff here cannot take criticism when it’s due and deserved - they should not be working in customer service in a public facing industry.

The hotel is very, very average – don’t be fooled by the website

· The noise from the main road is unbelievable – do not expect to get a good nights sleep – we complained but the rude man on reception was less than helpful with a “couldn’t be bothered attitude”.

· Dark, depressing rooms full of very cheap imitation dark wood furniture they try to pass off as “antique”!

· The hotel also faces a “private club” which has a window display of male torso wearing nothing except a kinky leather chest strap – I will leave the rest to your imagination. Bear this in mind if you have young children.

· The hotel is on a road full of explicit sex shops

· The Mini Bar in the room– a can of coke will cost you 60 crowns and that is the cheapest thing in there – total rip off

· A “kitchenette” is in the room, however, this is behind a cupboard with nowt but a tiny sink, a tiny kettle that will only fill an egg cup, no plates, no knives or forks. There is no cooker, if you wish to cook – you have to buy a cooking set for 120 crowns!! Not sure what the “cooking set” consisted of, as the price put us straight off.

· If you dare to ask for a clean towel, you will be met with a stare from the staff that will turn you to stone!

You have pay extra for slippers and bathrobes

Washing up by the maid will cost you an extra 50 crowns

Breakfast – complete rubbish! Slices of stale, small bread in a basket, bland cheese and ham sliced so thin is it like tracing paper, cereal supplied, but the bowls provided to put the cereal in are the size of finger bowls.

Room service – an example: a pizza will cost you 200 crowns and they charge you an extra 200 crowns in service charge.

In summary – a load of crap and run by staff who are out to rip you off – just like the rest of Prague. Prague may have some nice old building but that’s it

You have been warned - stay somewhere else.

Centrally located; a five minute walk from Wencelas Square, the National Museum and the Muzeum metro stop. Very easy to get to from the airport. Plenty of shops, bars and other facilities near by.

The exterior was a bit nondescript (we walked past it initially!) but was secured with a key card lock. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly, and gave us a map and details of things we might need locally, which was really lovely.

Breakfast was basic; cereals, fruit, toast, yoghurt, tea and coffee, so don't go expecting a cooked breakfast, but it was fine for us and we were more than happy.

The room is what sets this place apart from other similarly priced places. Beautiful old wooden furniture, huge windows, and was basically a small suite, with a sitting room off the bedroom. Was really nice to have lots of space.

The Hotel is nice, but this is not a four star hotel. The room is nice, big, but to dark. The bathroom is to small. TV is very old. It is impossible to open a wardrobe. Some lamps are broken.

Very clean bathrooms, friendly concierge, just a block away from the tram that takes you to the Prague Castle. We had three young children ages 7, 3, and 2. This hotel has a good space for families. Just no parking...

"+" The hotel stands very close to the Museum metro station, so it takes less than 10 minutes by walk to get to the Wazlaw Square. The hotel owner is Russian and the personnel speaks Russian fluently. The hotel rooms are cosy and designed in some Bohemian style.
"-" Though it is a 4 star hotel, lots of essential services are not free. So you pay for the Internet access, for fried eggs for breakfast, etc.
No parking place.
Breakfasts are poor. In case if you want a typical hotel menu, you shoud pay for every item additional 150 Czech crowns.
