We booked a deluxe suite with a view for our stay to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed at all. We arrived in mid-morning so the room was not ready. Wendy and Fillip stored our luggage and suggesteed we come back in a few hours when the room would be ready. When we returned after walking the nearby Charles Bridge and having lunch, we found that Fillip had brought our luggage to our room while we were out. He then not only took us to our room but took the time to show us all of the room features. He was also extremely attentive to our needs the rest of our week long stay.

The rooms were extremely large and spacious and very clean. We had a great view of the Prague Castle and Charles Bridge from the bedroom - a great sight to see upon both retiring to bed at night and upon walking in the morning.

The location is superb with its close proximity to the Charles Bridge, Old Town, trams and the Metro. For example, the 22 tram to the Castle is located about four blocks away.

All staff were extremely attentive and went the extra mile to make sure their guests needs were met.

We will definitely stay here the next time we visit Prague.

We just returned from a five night stay at the Mamaison Pachtuv Palace. When choosing a hotel in Prague I suggest staying in either the old town or little quarter. They are charming and historic neighborhoods. The newer sections of Prague are noisy and a bit honky tonk for my taste. Mamaision was located at the edge of old town just a few blocks from the Charles bridge. We had a fantastic view of the river, bridge and castle from our room. Our room featured a firm four poster bed, attractive furnishings, a flat screen TV (Only news and sports in English) a coffee maker with a nice selection of gourmet coffees, an in-room safe. a huge bathroom with a double sink, terry cloth robes, and a large combination bathtub/shower with a glass shower door. The shower was attached to the wall for easy washing. Mamaison is a charming luxury hotel with a beautiful courtyard and many creature comforts. After arriving in Prague from a long flight we had dinner at the hotel. The food was average at best. The staff were helpful and friendly especially Peter and Phillip. When we arrived we were greeted with a glass of champagne. While in Prague have breakfast at the Phenix and a gourmet dinner at Mylnec just a couple of blocks from the hotel. Take a taxi to to the Castle and enjoy the walk downhill to the monastary and little quarter.

Room Tip: The rooms in the back building are historic, but the rooms in the front have the great views. We boo...

We had a great apartment (rm 306) facing the river, bridge, and castle hill. I assume the rooms at the back of the hotel are also good, but with no views. Book early for best rates and book a rate with breakfast, as breakfasts in hotels tend to be very expensive. Enjoy afternoon coffee, or dinner, in the tranquil courtyard. Up the street about 100m is Platina restaurant in the Hotel Leonardo--excellent food.
If you arrive by train, have the hotel book a taxi for you and charge it to your room. Well worth the 380 CZK ($24) to be met and not have to hassle with a new country, currency, and taxi queues. By the way, the ONLY taxis to get into and not get 'taken for a ride' are those marked with AAA on the cars.
Downside: I found the bed in 306 a bit too soft. Also, there are no irons in the rooms and to press your clothes you need to send them to housekeeping who will charge you 80% of the regular laundering charge.

I booked a double deluxe room with views directly via the Mamaison website. I also requested a driver pick us up from the airport.

We were met at the airport by a friendly driver in a Mercedes E class car. The hotel was also able to organise car seats and booster for my children.

At check in we were advised that we had been upgraded to a two bedroom suite with views. The room was amazing. Two bedrooms, two bathrooms (with separate toilets and wash basins) and a huge lounge room. The view was just like all the brochures of Prague. We could see Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and St Vitus Cathedral from our apartment. It also meant that we were able to get some amazing photos, without even leaving the room.

There were alot of "nice" touches in the hotel room. In the children's bathroom, they had written a welcome note to my children in foam letters. In the children's bedrooms they had left the eldest a jigsaw puzzle, and the youngest a stuffed toy (rabbit). In the lounge room was a bottle of sparkling wine for my husband and I, and for the children sparkling berry (non alcoholic).

We had breakfast included in the rate. It was not a huge buffet selection like a Marriott or Hilton, but was more than adequate for our needs. The kids had cereal (similar to coco pops), croissants, fruit and pancakes (specially made) whilst my husband and I had omlettes (specially made), bacon and fruit.

We also tried room service, which was a little on the expensive side, but great food. We sampled a few of the restaurants around the area, but never found one that had "outstanding" food. The hotel is in a touristy area, and as such, the food we sampled was pretty hit and miss.

The location of the hotel is fantastic. Only a 2 minute walk to Charles Bridge, 5 minute walk into Old Town Square, 5 minute walk (in the opposite direction) to catch a tram to Wencelas Square or Prague Castle. With the windows closed, we could not hear any outside noise. Even with the windows open, we didn't find the noise a problem.

As for things to see, don't miss Prague Castle, St Vitus Cathedral (including climbing the 287 stairs to the top ... amazing view of Prague and not very busy), Astronomical Clock (also go to the top ... has lifts, so alot busier), Old Town Square and Charles Bridge. Those of you with children, there is a great playground on the other side of Charles Bridge.

Overall, a Great Hotel with an amazing view, in a fantastic location.

From start to finish our stay at this hotel was great. My boyfriend booked the room as a surprise for me and explained to the hotel he planned to propose to me whilst we stayed in Prague, the staff at the hotel arranged for one of the best rooms in the hotel for us. It was amazing two level apartment with massive lounge, kithen and dining area, upstiars bedroom and bathroom - one of the nicest hotel rooms I've stayed in and I do an awful lot of travelling.

Everything about the room was perfect - everything you could want in it - robes, toiletres, cofffe machine, kitchen utensiles and equipment - which meant we could make breakfast, tv's and a view of the river from the lounge area!

The staff are friendly and professional - the welcome was great a sit down meeting where we were offered refreshments and explained all about the hotel and answered any questions we had. They helped with restaurant reservations, directions and are a great asset to the hotel.

I highly recommend the hotel - and I said YES!

The rooms were huge and beautiful. The hotel staff was helpful and the city is amazing. Our entire party ranging in age from 16 to 40 and both men and women agree that Prague and our stay at Pachtuv Palace were the highlight of our trip to Europe.

This hotel is wonderfully situated, about a block from the Charles Bridge and within walking distance of many of Prague's best attractions. The staff is polite and well-trained, and our room was spacious, well-appointed, comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a tad small by American standards, but quite adequate. The room looked out towards the river.

The restaurant was quite good; while the breakfast buffet was decent, we had dinner the night we arrived and were pleasantly impressed.

Pachtuv Palace does have some quirks, however. The housekeeping was uneven, and one night we found our duvet gone, relaced with nothing, and bath mats substituted for towels. Additionally, the room did not have wifi. It did have an ethernet cable, but this is not really adequate anymore for a family that travels with multiple devices demanding connectivity (laptops, iPhones, iPads, etc.). Wifi is available in the lobby, but it is very slow.

All in all, a good visit, in spite of the quirks.
