We stayed in this hotel in September 2010 and really enjoyed its location to all the sights in Prague. We walked everywhere from the Old Town to the Palace area and especially across the Charles Bridge. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely recommend the Pachtuv Palace hotel to anyone traveling to the beautiful city of Prague.
We also loved the breakfast buffet although it was not included in the price of the room.

We wanted somewhere special to celebrate our 25th anniversary and this hotel was even better than weexpected. Staff could not be more helpful and courteous. Lovely to be greeted on arrival in the lounge and receive a room upgrade. The palace is simply superb and I cannot recommend it highly enough for its decor, spaciousness, proximity to Charles Bridge and the Old Town and splendour. The only negative is the price of breakfast - why so expensive when Prague food is so cheap?

Love the Pachtuv. Our room had an amazing view of the Charles Bridge just across the street, and the Prague Castle above. Everything was perfect, except we felt the breakfast buffet was gigantic ripoff. So we walked around Prague to find early morning breakfast, which is NOT easy to find. My wife and I stay at the finest hotels in the world, and would certainly stay at the Pachtuv Prague again.

We originally booked the Mamaison Riverside on the Mala Strana side of Prague for our honeymoon, and were greatly surprised when we were upgraded to the Pachtuv just near the St.Charles bridge and Old Town (5 min walk). Our room 402 had a lovely view of thebridge and castle. The bright suite was very roomy with separate sitting area that had a mini-kitchenette in an armoire. The bedroom had a comfortable 4 poster bed and the view from either of the two large windows. Very courteous & professional staff who assisted us in booking day trips and suggested restaurants (a good one just next to hotel). Their hotel restaurant was under construction but they still served a buffet breakfast for $25euro/person. We could not have been more happy and highly recommend this hotel. You will not be dissappointed!

I can't say enough good about the Pachtuv Palace. When looking at Prague accommodations it was between the Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental and the Pachtuv Palace. I'm so happy that I took a chance and went with an independent hotel in Prague.

Rooms:

I booked a suite category. It had a balcony overlooking the river and the castle. The suite was a very large residential style apartment with a comfortable living room, kitchenette and a spacious bedroom and bathroom. It was a fine European style apartment with very high ceilings. Furnishings and decor were not luxurious but they were comfortable and very residential.

In their promotional literature you will see photos of an amazing suite with a frescoed ceiling. Request this suite in advance if possible. It looks amazing but was booked solid during my eight nights at Pachtuv Palace.

Staff & Service:

Warm, welcoming and genuinely helpful. The front desk staff doubled as concierge and they offered excellent recommendations. The lobby area is like a living room / breakfast room. Evening cocktails are offered and morning breakfast served in this gorgeous and residential style room. We prefer breakfast in room so we prepared our own breakfast using the kitchenette but the foods on offer looked ample and delicious.

The "living room" style lobby was comfortable any time of the day for a drink and newspaper. Very nice touch. In addition the sculpture filled courtyards of this gorgeous property have tables perfect for an evening apertif.

Overall:

The Pachtuv Palace offers very large and well appointed accommodations for a fraction of the price of the expensive world renowned chains. This is a very charming property with an excellent staff. Book a suite and even the fussiest of travellers, such as myself, will be very well satisfied.

Very highly recommended!

the location was exceptional. the suite was spacious and antique (in a good way). the ceiling was a little low, but somehow it made the hotel feel more like a historical place despite a bump on my forehead.. overall, would recommend to anyone who wants a true Prague experience.

Very nice location with the Valtava river right across with a view of the castle. The staff is very friendly and went out of their way to make my 10 yrs old daughter very welcome. Its a few minutes of walk from the old town and Charles Bridge which makes the location more desirable as its quiet at night. The hotel itself is well decorated and charming and enjoyed the art work everywhere.
