From the time you turn onto the street where the hotel is you know that you are somewhere special. We were greeted by our name and imediately offered a drink and a place to sit while it was our turn to check in to the hotel. while we waited someone asked the nature of our trip and offered suggestions for things to do while in prague. We were offered two different rooms and a manager escorted us to each one so we could choose. The rooms were amazing and it was honestly hard to choose. Our entire stay was great and we hope to return soon.

Wonderful place, kind mannered and disponable staff, typical cozy decorations, central positioning, enchanting environement, attention on every minimum detail, care, very good typical food. I will surely be back soon and advice people to experience the Alchymist Hotel. Thank you from Italy.

My wife and two teenage daughters stayed four nights at the Alchymist in Prague. To say the hotel is, "perfect", "beautiful" or "5-star" would all be accurate but seem not to do it justice. For me and my family the Alchymist is the perfect European hotel.

For starters, the location at the end of a small courtyard in Prague's Little Quarter across from the US and Irish Embassies are removed the mobs and masses found in the Old Town and main areas in the city. This is a great plus - since the hotel is usually our only respite from touring all day. Conveniently, the Charles Bridge is only a five minute walk from the hotel.

The single door entrance to the hotel is elegant, discreet and has a very friendly, round-the-clock doorman who recognized and greeted us familiarly each time we passed. There is a cozy cafe just inside the entrance where a display case full of fresh chocolates, a small bar and about six small tables are available. Just past the cafe is a quiet courtyard with a fountain and some outdoor tables. Beyond the courtyard is the entrance to the hotel's primary building.

It's worth noting that the baroque decor of the hotel is thorough and complete...there isn't a space that isn't beautifully decorated including the above mentioned cafe and courtyard. Period furniture...carpeting...artwork...lighting fixtures - it is as the palace tour guides say, "sumptuous."

Beginning with the driver who met us on the train platform - the staff is friendly, helpful and speak very good English (our native tongue). The concierge led us to the salon where she went over the hotel amenities and general information about neighborhood and tourist attractions in Prague. Aside from a very nice breakfast being included, so too was the afternoon wine and cheese in the wine/bar room.

We booked the large Tower Suite so that all of my traveling family could stay together and still have a bit of privacy. The Alchymist's website does a great job of representing their rooms on their site. The two-level suite was indeed as large and nice as it looked online. And, like the entire hotel...just as beautiful and clean. The only inconvenience is that this particular room needs to account for a couple of pitched roofs. Thus, the upper loft bedroom and master bathroom require some minor acrobatics to navigate. We're not a particularly tall family (I'm the tallest at 5' 9") so we managed. My 6' 1" brother might have had a hard time.

As I mentioned above, the included breakfast is very good. All the juices are fresh as are the daily hot dishes and there is a great variety of breakfast meats, cheeses, dairy, fruits, vegetables and bread/pastry offerings. Really - unless seeking a neighborhood cafe for ambience, there isn't any reason to leave the hotel for breakfast.

That said, breakfast and sleeping were the only services we required of the hotel. There is a spa and restaurant...but we prefer to spend our time off premises to take in more of the city. We had very nice weather during our visit to Prague but if I were confined to a hotel...this would be the one.

I wouldn't hesitate to return here next time I visit Prague. It's plushly decorated, boutique sized, ideally located, spotlessly clean, impeccably staffed and has a killer A/C. There's want for nothing at the Alchymist in Prague.

Rooms are perfectly sized with the most amazing showers!! This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in ever, and it's in excellent location. Everything is within walking distance! Beautiful hotel with excellent staff!

Recently stayed at this hotel and I must say that it is an EXPERIENCE. Very charming and the staff could not have been more accomodating. While americans may find some of the amenities somewhat different (not in a bad way) than you are used to - it is very comfortable and extremely clean. Very conveniently located and within walking distance to many scenic areas. The restaurant was lovely and the buffet breakfast offers everything that anyone could want. We loved the decor and the ambience of the property. Especially enjoyed the wine tasting offered each evening that made mingling with other guests an option should you so desire. Did not have the time to explore the spa but it looked lovely. I would recommend this hotel to those who would like a more "Euopean" boutique experience and not the "chain hotel" feel that you may experience in a larger hotel chain.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a shower and no steps if you have any mobility issues

Everything about this hotel is superb: the location, the building, the decor, the rooms, the service, the food, the chocolate, the breakfast, the ambiance. I loved it. Right next to the US Embassy and a couple of minutes from the Charles Bridge, on the quiet and peaceful side of the river. It's a 500 year old building, richly decorated (admittedly a bit heavy and gilded, but charming). The restaurant was superb, the free breakfast in the morning was the best I've had in a hotel in recent memory. The staff was wonderful. The arranged a private tour of the city that was outstanding and a great value. I could go on forever. I would never stay anywhere else in Prague.

The hotel is very charming - gorgeous interiors. Room was small but quite comfortable. The hotel is away from the hustle and bustle of Old Town which we felt was a real plus. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Very enjoyable stay.I highly recommend this hotel.
