The staff is incredible and all meals from breakfast to the wine and cheese in the evenings are amazing!

There is not a better hotel with a more romantic option. If this is a special occasion, let the hotel know and they even provided wine or champagne and chocolates.

I've been to this hotel 7 times and they are truly the best!

WOW,what an amazing hotel....typical prague decor with a twist of strange objects on display, old books, african artefacts amongst stuffed animals. Very clean, welcoming staff that cant do enough for you, great breakfast english or continental, cereal and yogurts etc,..lovely spa, swimming pool or should i say puddle,as in its a little small...excellent position for all prague has to offer, just up the hill behind the hotel is where the monks make their excellent strong lager and beer, worth a visit to taste it.

Highly recommend this hotel which wil make an excellent base for any visit to Prague

I spent my birthday weekend on this hotel and spa, the staff is amazingly friendly from room service, cleaning to reception. All of them are knowledgeable and treat you nicely. You are received with a welcome drink and a lovely romantic and smooth atmosphere.

Highly recommend for couples who can splurge a bit more on occasion. Great for romantic getaways even if you live in Czech Republic. it can feel like you went back in time.

Only downside would be the restaurant. Saturday dinner they were not open on time (they only opened around 19:20 when our reservation was at 19:00 and i believe they did not handle it in the best possible way). Also the food was a safe menu choice, not all bad except when it came to the dessert. The zabaione was hot and runny, it was clearly a disaster and they should not have served it. The handmade chocolates are delicious.

The spa service is out of this world, very patient and efficient. Loved all the treatments I got (and they were many).

Room Tip: Rooms are fairly spacious, the bed is great.

We left home in Florida at 5am to catch our plane to JFK, changed to Amsterdam, changed again to Prague, arriving 8:30am the following day. We made it to the baggage area and there was a well-dressed driver with a sign with the Alchymist hotel and my name on it. He greeted us and took two of our bags as we walked out to his car. The car bore the name of the hotel on the side and was spotless for our ride to the hotel, which is where we are staying the next three nights. Transportation from the airport was part of our package. We were greeted by the hotel staff on arrival, who took our bags and offered hot towels and sparkling water as we relaxed in a very nice waiting room. Here, they took our information and we soon were led to room 103, which was one floor up a circular staircase. The room was spacious and staff very accommodating this day and every day. Not getting sleep on our flights from the USA made getting a nap our priority as we checked in that day. We found everything to be efficient upon arrival and the room was spacious and most comfortable as we quickly settled in. Later that day, we enjoyed the spa, which is a must see, even if a treatment wasn’t scheduled. It was beautiful and relaxing and a little bridge over a pond with live fish leads to the spa on the lower level of the hotel. Actually the entire hotel is a must see for those that stay there. The staff recommended concerts and arranged for tickets for us throughout our stay and offered umbrellas to use as we walked into town in the rain one day. Breakfast in the restaurant was fantastic each day with a varied selection of dishes from different parts of the world. We booked the Easter package which included a dinner in the Aquarius restaurant that was fantastic. The staff at the hotel was quite professional and always available to answer questions and tend to our needs. We did have someone enter our room briefly by mistake on our last morning very early and never brought it to management’s attention in our haste, as we needed to catch our train that day. The hotel also arranged transportation to the train station for us as part of our package.

A fantastic location decor supported by excellent modern facilities enriched by dedicated and we'll trained staff. Great food and a brilliant central location more than justifies the higher than average room rate. Our room contained ornate furniture a four poster bed local artwork and featured a private patio with fountain access able through patio doors.

We spent 3 nights in May in this hotel.
The hotel is a luxury hotel, very well located, very nice decoration but the rooms are small and "sous toit" with small windows (little bit dark in our room). Maybe are there other type of rooms? and no view for a room at €350 !!
For the price (350 eur/night) I find it expensive beacause the toilet is not deparated, just one washbasin for two, and the bathroom is not very large.
The breakfast was excellent, no négative points (fresh yogourts, bio cheeses, bio jams, very good breads and croissants, pancakes), you have delicious eggs (sunny side on the buffet and sausage)...you ca order other things but you have to pay for these extras.
The spa is very limited: a small swimming pool (not big inough to swim and not hot enough to stay as a jacuzzi). The children are autorized in the swimming pool - not a positive point for a spa.
To conclude, some points to improve and expensive for what we got...but excellent adress.

We came to conclusion having stayed 3 nights and walked the City extensively (and we're in our 60s and not overly fit so it is possible to navigate Prague in gentle strolls and slow hill climbs!) that this hotel is in the prime spot in City. It has the best of all worlds - good private location, stylish local take on décor, excellent food, a good nights sleep and responsive and helpful staff and service. We would definitely recommend it if you want to be pampered.... wonderful for couples and not just for our age group - though young families might find it less well suited.
About 15 - 20 minutes by taxi from the airport. In the best Quarter of the City - away from the busy, crowded and overly popular tawdry tourist haunts but in reality close to everything and in the most interesting and unchanged historic part of Prague very close to the castle, royal palace, royal gardens, river, Charles Bridge and Senate buildings all very much worth a visit.
There is added security with police checks near the hotel as the American embassy is across the road. In any case we found the City safe and people helpful. You can get to everywhere you might want to see from the hotel and discover things that are off the beaten track too - away from the bustle in your own little haven.
The hotel is decorated with faux antiques and furnishings and with beautifully painted and gilded ceilings creating a warm and dazzling ambience. A junior suite has mini bar and tea making equipment, TV, DVD, Air Con and safe in a well proportioned room with lots of space for 2 and good storage and wardrobe space. Bed large and extremely comfortable. No views from room windows but quiet. The bathroom is plush but there is no separate shower so note if you have particular mobility issues that the bath does have very high sides and no non slip mat (which would have been useful). The over bath shower can be a power shower if you want that style which is great.
Breakfast an excellent range of cold and hot fare all very well cooked. Dinner we ate here twice and it was a romantic setting in the elongated room with crystal chandeliers and gilt furniture. Food good choice of quality local and international dishes from the range of tasty breads to the handmade chocolates at the end. Unobtrusive but welcome atmosphere provided by pianist. Waiting staff know the meaning of good service, restaurant manager in particular. There is a lovely courtyard for sitting in the warmer weather and a small coffee shop - though in truth this has more handmade chocolates to sell than cakes. But no hardship as the chocolates are truly superb - some of the best I've ever tasted across Europe! Excellent, helpful young lady serving in cafe so it is somewhere to relax for a while before the next trip out. There are ample lounges and bars in the intimate rooms inside the hotel for pre dinner drinks etc. Spa and pool small, elegant and tempting!!
The only very small niggles were that one of the reception staff didn't make the best recommendation for a dinner booking outside but when his colleagues heard they could not have been more concerned or caring! Taxi time for airport was incorrect - but we spotted this and could be to do with our accent, 1 of 2 electronic room keys could never be made to work and towels could be whiter and fluffier - but these would just make us score it 110%. Come and enjoy Prague and all this hotel has to offer.
