My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel for three days on a recommendation from our travel agent. We were thrilled with the experience. The quality of the room, the level of service in all areas (front desk, bellman, wait staff, and spa), and the restaurant were all superb. In addition, the location of the hotel was within easy walking distance of most of the sites we wanted to visit in Prague. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who really appreciates a fine lodging experience. it is truly a special place.
P.S. Make sure you note this hotel's location - there is another Alchymist nearby so don't get them mixed up.

With its lovely entry courtyard with a trickling fountain, this little gem welcomes you in style from the moment you step through the doors and are greeted with a welcoming glass of champagne. The interiors, from the dining room to the guest rooms, are lavishly decorated with brocades and gilt and crystal chandeliers. If you crave sleek modernism, this is not for you. But if you enjoy some regal Old World charm, you'll love this place. It's a bit expensive for Prague, but if you can afford it, well worth the splurge. We stayed for six nights and loved every minute of it. We stayed in a junior suite, and enjoyed generous sized rooms, a large and modern bathroom, and nightly turndown service.

Right next to the American embassy, on a quiet street within walking distance to Prague's major tourist sites, it's in the perfect location. The staff is gracious and endlessly helpful. The atmosphere is serene, a private retreat from the bustle of an overcrowded city. Hidden in the basement level is a grotto/spa, with a splash pool that looks like something out of an old Roman bath, complete with a lounging bed.

The clientele is definitely upscale and international. While enjoying a breakfast one morning in the courtyard, I watched a serious looking gentleman timidly approach a sleekly dressed woman and heard him inquire quietly: "Is his Majesty feeling better today?"

There aren't many hotels in the world where you'll hear THAT conversation.

Amazing. An old castle or palace that was converted to a hotel. not all rooms are equal with some of them have balconies and some don’t. Service was great, staff were very cordial and competent. Location is right smack in the middle of many other historical sites. Just get out and walk. Don’t miss the bridge.

The staff is incredible and all meals from breakfast to the wine and cheese in the evenings are amazing!

There is not a better hotel with a more romantic option. If this is a special occasion, let the hotel know and they even provided wine or champagne and chocolates.

I've been to this hotel 7 times and they are truly the best!

WOW,what an amazing hotel....typical prague decor with a twist of strange objects on display, old books, african artefacts amongst stuffed animals. Very clean, welcoming staff that cant do enough for you, great breakfast english or continental, cereal and yogurts etc,..lovely spa, swimming pool or should i say puddle,as in its a little small...excellent position for all prague has to offer, just up the hill behind the hotel is where the monks make their excellent strong lager and beer, worth a visit to taste it.

Highly recommend this hotel which wil make an excellent base for any visit to Prague
