“One Week-End in Prague”
Reviewed 20 September 2009

Our whole family (55 people) went for a waak-end in the czech capital.
Everyone, from my youngest cousin (3 month) to my grandmother (88 years) enjoyed our stay at the Alchymist Hotel.
Located next to the US and the Irish ambassy in the heart of the City we could enjoy all kind of high end facilities (especially the Spa).
Service was great.
We had a great time.

elegant. impeccable service and response to requests. immediate assistance with internet access glitch and request for additional reading lamp for sitting room. one of the best run and welcoming and comfortable hotels we have stayed in for years. breakfast buffet was more than adequate.

the excellence of our experience can be judged by the modest nature of our "complaints" : no make-up mirror and only one international herald tribune in the breakfast room in the morning.

the restaurant was a treat. and just around the corner is another fine restaurant "david".

all in all, our stay [8 nights] in a royal suite [large, separate living room and bedroom] was worth the price and we only wish the same hotel were in other of our favorite places as well.

We were here for 4 nights in mid August. Hotel is everything you could want and more in a small venue. Probably the best location in Prague, right across from the American and Irish embassies. Short walk to everywhere and walking is a must to truly enjoy this beautiful city. Arrived on a Friday afternoon and our driver from the hotel was right there when we got into the terminal. Very nice drive into the City and up the cobblestone street to the Hotel. The decor may be considered "over the top" for some, but a great visual experience for those who stay here. The grafitto(a form of local decoration) in the courtyard is truly magnificent. All of the staff were extremely helpful and proud to be associated with the hotel. We had only a standard room that was well decorated and quite adequate. The spa was quite nice and the couples massage was very relaxing. Ate breakfast either in the restaurant or courtyard every morning as it was included in our package. It was quite good and had both American and European selections. Also ate 2 meals for dinner that were also well done and nicely presented. Live music Thursday through Saturday at dinner. I smoke ciagars and would go outside to smoke. There is a Music Academy 2 doors down and I was treated to some beautiful violin music echoing off the buildings while I relaxed with my smoke. I wish we had had more time to explore some of the attractions outside of Prague, but this hotel and its' staff made our stay that much more enjoyable.

This charming and romantic hotel sits prominently atop its approaching street like a sparkling Baroque gem adorning the surrounding aristocratic architecture - it's mere presence attracting you to its airy courtyard entrance. The decadent aroma of freshly formed chocolate delicacies from the coffee cafe at the hotel entrance is a subtle sign of the pleasurable experience that awaits inside. The staff greeted us like old friends, nonetheless with the appropriate professionalism and formality that one would expect from a 5 star establishment. At checkin, complimentary champagne flowed and business was taken care of speedily. We were in our jr. suite with our luggage before we could finish our bubbly flute. Throughout our stay, whether it was requests for dinner reservations, transportation, tours or spa treatments, the staff was courteous, responsive and effective. Prague is truly a magical place and the Alchymist is what any traveler could ever wish for.
