This is NOT a 5 star hotel, at least by American Standards. Our room looked NOTHING like the ones on the website. While the lobby of the hotel was unique, the rooms were reminiscent of a Motel 6 in America. The location is good, and the service is good if you tip very well, and the breakfast is acceptable. However, the value is just not there. The rooms are small and stuffy, with minimal air conditioning and the only view is that of the building across the narrow street.
On departure, arrange for the taxi to the airport yourself and save 50% of the cost as the hotel doubles the cab fare if they make the phone call. I would NOT RECOMMEND this hotel based on the cost. We paid $250 USD per night for a $60 USD hotel room. Save your money.

its not often that my wife and I steer away from the big hotel chains however in the case we did and it could not have been better. Here at the Alchemist its like going back in time , the hotel is luxurously furnished with a feeling of being at your own baroque mansion. The rooms are perfectly romantic. The staff are super helpfull. Location only walking distance from all main attractions , however still tucked away nicely just far away enough from the overcrowded turistic areas. Being located in the embassy district is also a plus with great dining everywhere. Unfortunately we did not manage to try the spa however we did have a sneak peak and it looked amazing. Costs at the bar / cafe & restaurant are on the high side for Czech standards however for a few relaxing days of perfect romance its worth it.

My wife and me stayed 3 nights in this wonderful hotel. From arrival until their car left us at the airport we were taken care of the best possible way you can imagine. The staff was very friendly with the touch of class you seldom experience travelling in Europe! Our Junior Suite was exellent, few meters down to a wonderful spa which my wife used with pleasure. She took a 90 min massage, she was sorry that we didn't have more time to take more.. The relaxing and very romatic hotel offered vine and cheese tasting in the afternoon which invited us for a relaxing period in the wonderful living room with quality wine and cheese and enjoy and admire the interior. The breakfast is what you can expect of a hotel which sets the standard of staff and interior this high.
There is only a few minutes walk both to the Prague Castle and to the Charles Bridge which opens the gate to the old City with whatever to see and experience. A perfect location! This is a stay that we will remember for years. We highly recommend you to try this hotel, you won't be dissappointed.

My wife and i stayed here over Valentines, from the pick up at the airport in a beautiful Rolls Royce to the return journey we were made to feel like Royalty. The food was great, the rooms beautifully decorated as is the entire hotel. The staff are friendly give great service with out being obtrusive. If its a romantic get away you're looking for then this is the hotelfor you. The spa if beautiful and the massages were out of this world. As someone who spends a lot of time in five star hotels around the world I can tell you that this is one of the very best I've stayed in. The attention to detail is impressive. Guys, take her here and you'll be hard pressed to spend the brownie points you'll earn for the rest of the year!

This is our third visit to the Alcymist which goes to show how much we love it. This time we stayed ina junior suite - this was fantastic. We had a bottle of champagne waiting for us, the room was just as shown in the brochure, clean, elegant and extremely comfortable.

We always use the spa facitlities - pool, steam room and sauna and this is a perfect way to unwind after a long days walk around the beautiful city of prague.

The wine and cheese tasting every evening put us in the perfect mood for our evening meal.

The staff are very welcoming and do everything they can accommodate you - nothing is too much trouble all you have to do is ask.

The choice at breakfast is excellent and the food is of an extremely high standard.

You can't fail to enjoy your stay at this hotel, if you think the pictures of this hotel look good - just wait until you get here.

If you are looking for a special treat for someone, this is where you need to be - you won't be disappointed. We have tried to find something wrong with Alcymist three times now, but have failed miserably each time!

We stayed at the Alchymist to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary and the hotel was just perfect for that. We did not want to stay in a generic hotel room and the Alchymist fulfilled all our expectations. Housed in a historic building, it combines the charm of the old with the comfort and ammenities you expect today. The deluxe room is not huge, with the bed taking up much of the space, but it does have a nespresso coffee maker! The separate dressing area adds to the space and prevents claustrophobia.
We did not eat there, being out and about much of the day, but the restaurant menu seemed good. The staff was generally very friendly and helpful.

Although I have stayed in Hotels all over the world The Alchymist Hotel in Prague is something rather special. The rooms are beautiful and romantic, the restaurant and food is amazing, the spa is gorgeous, the staff are wonderful and the hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of the city. I arranged the trip as a surprise 50th birthday present for my wife and we had a fantastic 3 night stay. It is one place I would visit again and again and I thoroughly recommend it. Absolutely faultless.
