“Adequate 3 star hotel in the Zizkov area of Prague”
Reviewed 16 August 2013

I booked a quadruple room which turned out to be a triple room with an extra bed so space was a little tight for us but then again we were 4 messy boys on a tour of Europe. It was a decent sized room in most respects. On arrival we had to fill out the usual forms, but after dragging suit cases from Prague station (a 20 minute walk away) on a very hot day this proved difficult, and it didn't help that the receptionist checking us in was quite impatient and somewhat rude. All other receptionists we came across at this hotel were nice enough though.

The beds were comfortable and the room was clean, with almost enough space! The toilet room and shower room were separate which did prove to be a good thing. Breakfast was standard European-style, nothing fancy but nice and adequate. There was a member of staff always checking that nothing run out during the breakfast period.

The hotel is located in the Zizkov region of Prague, which is around a 25 minute walk to the city centre. There is also a tram stop at about a 3 minute walk from the hotel where trams go to Wenceslas square and some places a couple of streets south of the city centre. I specifically chose Zizkov for us to stay because as a young group the restaurants and bars are a lot cheaper compared to central Prague, plus it's the region of the city more for young people (partly due to the fact that there's a college there).

I would recommend this hotel becuase it is within fairly reasonable reach of the city centre, the price was ok and the area it's in is nice and cheap to eat and drink.

Room Tip: It can be noisy at night for rooms in the front, I didn't notice so much because I'm a bit d...

I went to the Victoria Hotel for 5 nights in july 2010. The double room was spacious, bright and clean with good and enough breakfast, kind and helpful staff. The hotel is close to the city centre, at 20 minute walk, and Hlavni Nadrazi stop.Great value for money. I liked it, strongly recommend it.

Room Tip: rooms on a high floor or back side are quieter

I think this was my third visit to Victoria, and again it was superb. The location is very handy, just a short distance from Husinecka and Lipanska tram stops on Seifertova. I sometimes walk to Wenceslas square from the hotel, takes me about 20 mins, but on the tram it's maybe only 5. The rooms are nice, modern, and clean. Beds are very comfortable, large pillows, with good quality mattresses and sheets. My Bathroom was modern and spacious, as was the shower cubicle. Water pressure was very strong on the 4th floor, and it was always hot when I needed it. Breakfast is very filling; there's everything that I need - eggs, sausage, cheese, meats, salad, cereals, fruit, yogurt, breads, juice, tea, coffee, milk..... The food is there from 7.30am - 10am, and they never run out like in some prague hotels I've stayed at. Only downside was it rained quite a lot while I was staying there, and the TV is limited to CNN for English speakers. Would have been nice to see British Eurosport or MTV in English, but that's only a minor fault. The staff were all really friendly and helpful; it was nice to see Vendula again on reception. The beautiful lady manager, Iveta, is always immaculate in every way and the hotel benefits from her high standards. A first class hotel, and super value. I shall return.

Room Tip: 4th floor was nice and quiet.

We were staying there for 5 days in May.
The Hotel is situated in 10 minuets by train (#26, 5) from the Center (Namestny Republika). The rooms are small and very simple, they's no fridge, no tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast is simple.
If you go to Prague, you won't stay at the hotel, that's why this hotel is ok for travellers, but as for me I won't stay there again and won't recommend you.

The biggest problem with this hotel, if you are unlucky enough to have a room on the front, is the constant noise of the trams going past, every two minutes till late into the night. Otherwise a clean, warm, comfy hotel. Bar next door does lovely food.

Room Tip: Request a room at the back of the building if you can!

Dear our guest,
Thank you very much for your kind feedback.
We can understand that noise from trams is not great, but we can not do anything about it as we are in the city centre. If you prefer quite room, please request on your booking before your arrive and I am so sorry , but we do not have any rooms in back yard.
Maybe if you would like to come next time you can also try our hotel Globus which is just out of the city centre in the nice nature full of trees and parks. From Globus you can get by metro easily to the city centre.
We hope you will try our other hotels for next visit.
Kind regards
Iveta Fojtíková

Great hotel with regards to value for money ! Modern, clean, basic and ideal for a weekend or couple of nights. Only problem is staff don't smile and breakfast orange juice tastes like water but apart from those little things ideal cheap hotel for sightseeing or shopping. Tram goes straight past hotel. No 9 or No 5.

Tip - get a map of the metro at train station as hotel staff haven't a clue how to direct you. No tea or coffee making facilities in room, if u ask nicely they will serve you if u pay of course. Restaurant next door excellent food with a guy called Martin who plays guitar and the blues which is outstanding!!!! Don't forget to try the beef cheeks in red wine and go to a restaurant called Bonavita who serve amazing goulash inside bowl made of bread . Beer is cheap steak and dumplings local dish. Loved the shops. Prague has C & A and clock house inside - this brought back great memories from shopping as a teenager and prices really cheap too - so take extra money for buying bargains!
