“Great Lotation!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 October 2013

Akcent was a great hotel. It's accessibility to the train is brilliant as the underground is literally out the front. The room was clean and spacious with good air conditioning. The staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was good. There were lots of shops around and a shopping centre which was handy. Only downfall was it was a little noisy at night and a few shady characters around but I would stay again!

We were a little surprised that the hotel occupied only one floor of this large building but that is really of little consequence.

Room was large with comfortable clean twin beds. Furnishing was perfectly adequate with large wardrobe, safe, bedside cabinets, desk, three chairs, table, decent size TV with some English channels, bedside lamps, table lamp and floorstanding lamp, kettle, cups and glasses. Free wifi had good connection. The only downside was the pillow, thin and flat but large enough to be doubled, or even tripled, over.

Bathroom too was large and well equipped.

The restaurant resembles to some extent a staff canteen. Breakfast had little variety from day to day, being typically scrambled eggs, frankfurters, and green beans as the hot items. Over seven days twice there were fried eggs, once bacon, once a different kind of sausage and once mixed diced vegetables. There were also boiled eggs.

On the cold side there were 3 different varieties of cooked meat and two different sliced cheeses, both pretty bland. Sliced cucumber and tomatoes were also available along with honey and meat paste. Several varieties of bread, cakes, sliced melon, and occasionally mixed fruit.

On the whole a decent selection to set you up for the day, but boring over a week.

We had a couple of evening meals there which were really quite good for the low price. But there are plenty of eateries around the area; I recommend Corleones opposite the shopping mall.

Trams and metro are handy and cheap. Incidentally don't use the expensive, not always to be trusted taxis, costing something like £18 to £20, to get to the airport. Use the metro and bus 100. If you have a 24 hour ticket, still extant from the previous day, it will cost you nothing. At most it will cost you a transfer ticket at 32k, roughly £1.

Staff are uniformly helpful and speak good English.

If you are looking for luxury look elsewhere, but if all you want is a decent place to lay your head in a convenient location then you won't go far wrong here.

We drove to Prague from Germany and found the hotel easily using a GPS. They have a guarded parking lot titled Vinci Parking across the street from them that costs 11 euros for 24 hours. The hotel is co located with a Casino on the first floor but is not related to each other business wise per the front desk. The front desk was very help ful in telling us about the area and metro. You are also able to change Euros or Dollars to their local currency at the hotel without an commision fees which is a plus. The hotel itself is located only on the 7th floor of the building. We were there for only 1 night and had a group of 4 adults. Our room was the corner 704 suite that had two seperate twin beds and a queen size bed. It was very spacious and included a full corner balcony that we could see a great panoramic view of Prague from. The room comes with a tv with english channels, small ref and a water heater for coffee or tea. Breakfast was on the first floor in the morning from 730-1030 and was a decent start for the day. Nothing to fancy but good. The metro line is right next to the hotel and is only a couple stops from the old town that has most of the tourist attractions.

Room Tip: Ask for a balcony suite facing the street to get a great view of Prague.

If you are on a budget and don't mind being away from the glitz and glamor of Prague but still very close to the 'Andel" metro...pick this place. The room is spacious. The beds (mattresses) are sad and very uncomfortable (you can easily feel the box springs...ouch). The bathrooms are spacious and clean. The carpet in the main rooms are a bit scary. The furniture is sparse. The worst part is the breakfast...the dinning area is super scary and the food plus selection are not worth mentioning. It is more of a hostel but u get your own room. I don't think I will stay there again.

Room Tip: Save money...take this place....want comfort, avoid this place. Like to eat...run away from this pl...

I got a free upgrade to a double room, which was nice and spacious. Air conditioning worked OK and was controllable. The room was very clean. Access to metro is really at the door step of the hotel. All in all a functional and convenient hotel.

Extremely friendly staff that will help you with everything you need! The breakfast is okay, not the best I've seen but there was the basics such as bun, yogurt and sausage . The room was very clean and big. The hotel need to renovate a bit, such as changing carpet, new paint on the walls and maybe a Power outlet by the bed to charge your phone.

The walking distance to the centre and Charles bridge is okay. Only about 30 - 40 minute walk, or you can take the Metro which is just next to the hotel.
