“Great place for a short break”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 September 2013

A really good little hotel, a little out of the town centre but probably better for that. Not a great looking part of town, but only a 30 minute walk at the very most to reach the old town where you'll pay twice as much. The staff were friendly, spoke good English and were very helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the street, as they are probably quieter, ours had a small balcony but look...

OK this is not the Ritz but it is a great little budget hotel.

I really liked the location, quite a charismatic area and we never felt unsafe. Taxi to the old town was 250 crowns and the area is well served by public transport.

The rooms were adequate. Hair dryer, tea and coffee facilities en-suite shower, limited TV, free wifi. No air con but the ceiling fans were fine.

The staff were lovely and very helpful.

My only complaint would be the mattresses. They have added toppers to them but, to be honest, the ones on our rooms were at the end of their life :-(.

All said and done we would stay here again.

Can recommend the Thai massage behind the bowling alley 50 yards up the road. (No funny stuff just relaxing therapeutic massage at a fair price).

The hotel was clean, good service, ok food, nice bathrooms - and just a few minutes walk from the city center. In a great part of the city, with nice fairly priced restaurants, good food and cheap beer. Absolutely recommended!

Hotel Seifert is situated in Zizkov, a district of Prague that seems a little run-down at first glance. Appearances can be deceptive, however; it's a actually a great area for pubs, ethnic restaurants and vintage shops. There is also far less of a tourist crush than you'll find in Stare Mesto or Mala Strana and, consequently, the accommodation options tend to more competitvely priced. The Seifert is certainly one of the best of the bunch.

The reception staff are very friendly and all speak good English. The rooms and communal areas of the hotel are kept clean. Rooms are basic but comfortable, with flatscreen TVs, minibars, tea/coffee making facilities, safes and antiquated ceiling fans.

If there's one area that mid-range and budget hotels in Prague often fall down, it's breakfast. However, breakfast at the Seifert is great, with a wide choice of fruits, pastries, yoghurts, bread and hot options including scrambled eggs and either bacon or sausage, depending on the day.

Finally, I don't really understand why some reviewers are under the impression that you have to catch a bus or tram or take a long walk in order to reach the heart of Prague. From the front entrance of the hotel you can be at Wenceslas Square in about 15 minutes, simply by turning left, walking down Husitska and past the main train station on Opletalova.

All in all, highly recommended.

We stopped here for five nights. The location is around 40 minutes walk to the main Center and the shops which in parts can be at night can be a little creepy at times.the hotel itself is very basic and standard however they are clean. The receptionist was very helpful with information about the city.

Spended 5 nights at the hotel. Great room and polite service.
Breakfast was great, eggs, varity of bread; cheese and juice.
Lots of good restaurants in the neighborhood, and bus 207 going downtown just 2 minutes away.
A pleasant stay, great value.
