“Great Experience”

I remember my days at Prague really delightful. That apartment in particular was the perfect choice. Great location, nice, clean and tidy, well presented. We stayed for a week, the tram around the corner, shops are not very close, you have to walk 8 mins. The only bad thing it has not got lift, so if you planning with family, bear in mind few stairs.

Really good riverside location, with good walking access to most sights and/or transport links. And a truly beautiful city, so no complaints there...

And to be fair, some of the downsides were not the fault of the apartment at all. i.e. noisy, disruptive guests whose mothers would truly be ashamed! We were there 3 nights and TWICE a panel of the front door got kicked in by drunken guests. I was actually scared and thought about calling the police or the office (I had 2 teenagers with me). And then there was the shouting, the swearing and the furniture-trashing. I guess maybe Prague is a party city, but I would hope you can have a good time without spoiling things for others??? I'm an old humbug, aren't I?

The apartment itself was jaded, with some signs of an incomplete renovation. The bathroom was very recently refitted with copious amounts of hot water. Kitchen was basically equipped. Fridge/freezer was hot!!! And when we examined it the lining in the top inside the fridge was ruptured. I think it needed condemning, for safety's sake. The fan didn't work at all, and there was no hairdryer to be found. Floors were dusty and bitty, but the rest seemed clean enough. All these things we reported on our departure - to have gone to the time and trouble of reporting them before would have wasted our short time in this lovely city.

On the plus side, the beds in the bedroom were very comfy and, between bouts of being woken by guests kicking in the front door etc, I slept well. Cannot fault the transfer to/from the airport either....perfect, really convenient and good value for money!

And have I mentioned that Prague is a beautiful city....?

We had a three bed apartment on the 5th floor overlooking the river. It was really spacious and although basic, it suited us just fine. It was clean, if a little worn, but at 400Euros for three nights, what can you expect!

Don't expect to do much cordon bleu cooking as the equipment is basic - nothing to cook things in the oven, two saucepans, a microwave, kettle and toaster, but hey - this is Prague with lots of great eateries, especially on this west side of the river. No rip-off tourist places here.

Thoroughly recommend it.

Oh - and they provided a great transfer from the airport.

Booked the Janacek Palace appartment (no 9) for a stag weekend in Prague for 9 of us. The location is excellent with a great view of the river and a 10-15 min stroll to either the Charles Bridge or into the centre and Wenselas sq. There are bars and small supermarket type shops just round the corner from the apartment.

We had appt no 9 which was large and clean. You get your towels and bedding and the rooms were spotless. 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms all of a good size and fit 9 nicely! Only issue we had was that the water went off one night and didnt come on till next day - not what you need after being out on the beer all night and are gagging for a drink! The place is a bit dated and could do with re furbing but for a large group of blokes was just fine!

The company we booked through (Old Town Appartments) provided us with taxi transfers direct to the appt from the airport which was good and easier than having to find your own way or getting conned by an airport taxi.....

Overall a good choice of place to stay in a good location.

I stayed here with a friend for a short city break. We had a distastrous start to our holiday when we arrived to the accommodation only to find we couldnt get inside. It was below freezing outside and dark. Not very nice for two young girls at all. Just be aware that you have to walk about a 10 minutes away to collect your key, (we were not aware of this before our journey).
Once inside after we had walked the 10minutes back alone with our suitcases and had mastered the very confusing locks, we were welcomed to a satisfactory apartment. It was newly equipped with new furniture, kitchen and bathroom. Everything was clean and tidy plus they had thought of the little details e.g. ironing board, convertor plug and ice cube tray! Unfortunately the television didnt work and we didnt want to waste time walking all over the city to complain. The beds were the worst, they were soooo hard we suffered with chronic bad backs and aching hips all week. The place could have done with a good decorating, there were marks on the walls which didnt look spicey at all. Everything was sort of un-finished, plugs werent finished, light fittings were broken and furniture broken. Holes in the wall not good. If you are fit, it is walking distance to all main sights and attractions. Quiet area, right next to river and the Fred and Ginger towers. Overall the accommodation was okay and a good little base for a short break, we didnt actually spend much time, only came back to sleep (on the hard beds, ha ha!).

  • Liked — The location, it was very quiet.
  • Disliked — Getting into it, the check in. We felt very vulnerable being left outside for hours before we found where we collected the keys.
