We like hotels in the city center as walking is preferred. This apartment/hotel was just the ticket. Ok you have to schlep your luggage up the stairs (no elevator) but other than that it was a great place. Apartment had fridge, stove, dishwasher, coffee maker, air condition and a separate bedroom. TV was wild to operate though and very little English channels but who cares right? We stayed 4 nights and walked to every attraction. This hotel is across the road from the river. great for night walks. Tip: Take a taxi (about $10 US) up to the Prague castle and walk down. Much easier and you'll have enough strength to hold up a 1/2 liter of beer for about $2 US!!! Charles bridge down the road. If you want a boat cruise, don't take the long one. You get stuck in the locks for half your trip. The 50 min. one is plenty. I would recommend this apt/hotel to anyone who's looking for a walkable location to stay. To top it off, Prague had a fireworks display up and down the river the night before we left. :)

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a balcony out front. River is across the road.

I remember my days at Prague really delightful. That apartment in particular was the perfect choice. Great location, nice, clean and tidy, well presented. We stayed for a week, the tram around the corner, shops are not very close, you have to walk 8 mins. The only bad thing it has not got lift, so if you planning with family, bear in mind few stairs.

We had a three bed apartment on the 5th floor overlooking the river. It was really spacious and although basic, it suited us just fine. It was clean, if a little worn, but at 400Euros for three nights, what can you expect!

Don't expect to do much cordon bleu cooking as the equipment is basic - nothing to cook things in the oven, two saucepans, a microwave, kettle and toaster, but hey - this is Prague with lots of great eateries, especially on this west side of the river. No rip-off tourist places here.

Thoroughly recommend it.

Oh - and they provided a great transfer from the airport.

Booked the Janacek Palace appartment (no 9) for a stag weekend in Prague for 9 of us. The location is excellent with a great view of the river and a 10-15 min stroll to either the Charles Bridge or into the centre and Wenselas sq. There are bars and small supermarket type shops just round the corner from the apartment.

We had appt no 9 which was large and clean. You get your towels and bedding and the rooms were spotless. 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms all of a good size and fit 9 nicely! Only issue we had was that the water went off one night and didnt come on till next day - not what you need after being out on the beer all night and are gagging for a drink! The place is a bit dated and could do with re furbing but for a large group of blokes was just fine!

The company we booked through (Old Town Appartments) provided us with taxi transfers direct to the appt from the airport which was good and easier than having to find your own way or getting conned by an airport taxi.....

Overall a good choice of place to stay in a good location.

I stayed here with a friend for a short city break. We had a distastrous start to our holiday when we arrived to the accommodation only to find we couldnt get inside. It was below freezing outside and dark. Not very nice for two young girls at all. Just be aware that you have to walk about a 10 minutes away to collect your key, (we were not aware of this before our journey).
Once inside after we had walked the 10minutes back alone with our suitcases and had mastered the very confusing locks, we were welcomed to a satisfactory apartment. It was newly equipped with new furniture, kitchen and bathroom. Everything was clean and tidy plus they had thought of the little details e.g. ironing board, convertor plug and ice cube tray! Unfortunately the television didnt work and we didnt want to waste time walking all over the city to complain. The beds were the worst, they were soooo hard we suffered with chronic bad backs and aching hips all week. The place could have done with a good decorating, there were marks on the walls which didnt look spicey at all. Everything was sort of un-finished, plugs werent finished, light fittings were broken and furniture broken. Holes in the wall not good. If you are fit, it is walking distance to all main sights and attractions. Quiet area, right next to river and the Fred and Ginger towers. Overall the accommodation was okay and a good little base for a short break, we didnt actually spend much time, only came back to sleep (on the hard beds, ha ha!).
