“Nice hotel, but some problems”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 January 2007

Stayed at the hotel last May for 4 nights with four of my friends. We got a big "suite" with two rooms, one with two single beds and onw with three single beds, and between the rooms there was the bathrom and the toilet.

Overall, the hotel is nice, but there are some problems that i would like to indicate.

The good things:

*Clean hotel and rooms
*Good beds
*Nice staff
*Close to a Supermarket
*The night buses arrive to the hotel area

The not so good things:

*No towels! we didn't bring towels from home so we had to use the hand towels for the shower - not such a fun situation...
*The closest Metro station is a bit far - 20minutes by foot, so you need to take a bus from the hotel to the Metro station
*In our room there was a really bad deep frying scent
*The area of the hotel is quite depressing... it's not dodgy or something like that, just depressing - eastern europe style (gray streets and stuff like that)
*We had some problems at the reception when we were checking in - they couldn't find our reservation for quite a long time

All in all - it's not a bed hotel. The rooms are nice and Prague is so small so you are in the center of it within 10 minutes or so, but the overall impression isn't that good. We had to compromise because there was a huge event at town at the same time (Euroleague Final-Four) and all the hotels at town were fully booked.

Prague is great and don't forget to visit the two chicks at the sausage stand at the main square...(;

NA-NA-NA BASQUNIA!!!

  • Liked — Nice rooms, very clean, good bathroom
  • Disliked — No towels and funny scent
  • Tips/Secrets — The sausages stand at the square...

The hotel is close to both Prague train stations and located 10 or 15 minutes from the city historical center, which can be reached from there easily by tram or tram/subway, depending where you want to go.
My sister and I stayed in a 3* room. Furniture and bathroom were brand new and clean. Our rooms had a lateral view to the street, which was absolutely quiet.
The hotel restaurant served good food at good prices. Friendly staff.
There were two computers at the hotel lobby with internet access at good rates.
I would definitely recommend the hotel for its excellent cost benefit and nice, new furnished rooms (3*).

This hotel is perfectly situated for airport and the rest of the Prague. For the price of £33 (1.350Kc) for 2* economy can't really complain for anythig. Especialy after 5 years of work in 5 and 4 star UK hotels. Staff in the restaurant is amazingly proffesional and yet so cool. Room wasn't top but still very nice and clean, with babycot as requested. Breakfast wee bit hectic but one person serving around 100 guests? Didn't speak much but no wonder, she never stopped, every credit. I will definitely stay in this hotel. Oh and I wouldn't reccomend this hotel for UK stagg parties! Go to Paris or Berlin or Amsterdam and don't polute our capital city!!!

Hotel was clean and tidy, rooms were plain and simple with a fully tied bathroom. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and spoke very good English. The breakfast wasn't up to much and went very quickly but for the price we couldn't complain. Its a cheap hotel but isn't actually that bad. For a stag or hen weekend its perfect. It was a 10 min walk to the metro and from there it was another 10 minutes to the center. Don't let that put off because you get to see the real Prague on the way.

  • Liked — Price, Good clean hotel, I'd go back
  • Disliked — Breakfast was a bit naff
  • Tips/Secrets — Very basic hotel, don't except anything near 5*

Reasonably priced, clean room & comfortable beds, however:
1) A busload of noisy high school kids running up & down the hall at midnight put a damper on our stay.
2) Having chosen the 2* rather than the 3*, I wonder if that was the reason they charged us for bath towels (hard as sandpaper).
3) No non-smoking area in the lobby lounge
4) Most food gone at breakfast buffet table 15 minutes before posted
deadline
5) In a dark industrial area quite a bit out of the way from the main tourist sights

I stayed at the Extol for 2 nights. The rooms have been recently renovated so everything looks in good condition. Good clean bathroom with high powered shower. TV and minibar. The beds look and feel like something purchased at Ikea....small and a bit hard for my liking.
Don't accept a room next to the 2 elevators as they are constantly in use and rather noisy. The hotel also offers hostel accomodation on the higher floors.. there were a few parties of young adults and the inevitable screaming and running up and down the corridors at times.
Breakfast was included and quite acceptable.
Overall a pretty decent place to stay in Prague. A little removed from the city sights but easy access to public transport.
