We selected this hotel using the reviews from this website and we were not disappointed at all! We easily reached this hotel from the airport by taking a bus 119 which took 25 min to the metro station - Dejvická which costs 18 kc per person. From there, we took a taxi which lasted only 5 mins and costs 110 kc. We were advised at the airport that a taxi from the airport would have costed 750 kc. On our journey back, we plan to take trams 25 and 15/20/26/51 to Dejvická followed by bus 119. The entire journey should not take more than an hour and would cost 26kc per person!

The hotel is located in the northern part of the city away from Prague central but it is easily accesible as tram 22, which stops just outside the hotel, travels straight into the city. The tram frequency is every 10 min from 4am till past midnight! The streets were quiet at night but well lighted and hence safety is definitely good.

We had problems buying tram passes as there were no vending machines at this tram stop. It would be wise to stock up on the train tickets when one passes the metro stations or bigger tram stops. We hitched a ride to the next tram stop to buy tickets but were unfortunately caught by the conductor and were fined 30euros each! We learned later that the next tram stop with the ticket dispensor in the direction of the Prague castle was merely 5 min away on foot.

We were extremely please with the rooms as they were neat, clean and tastefully decorated. The toilet was spacious and well maintained. The views from our room faced the Strahovsky Monstrary and the Prague Castle which were magnificently lit at night.

The breakfast was tasty with good selection for the price that we had paid. Wifi was not available from the rooms but only from the reception. One has to request for the password from the reception. We brought our laptop which connected to the LAN cable in the room and we used it to broadcast the wifi signal to our trusty iphones!

TV was available but there was no cable. We would have preferred the room to have contained a microwave oven and a fridge.

We would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to all of our friends.

Room Tip: A good local map is available from the reception

We booked this hotel via internet, it was a gamble, because it was very cheap. It turned out to be great!!! The location was just perfect, only 5 minutes walkingdistance of the Prague Castle and just 10 minutes walking distance of restaurants and the city centre. In front of the hotel there was a tramline. The rooms were just fine and clean. We even had a bath! Although the room was situated at the street side, the noise was minimal. Breakfast was just fine, typical for this land. Staff was very helpfull too and spoke good Englisch.

Fell like I owe tripadviser a couple of reviews :) Been there twice - in 2005 and Fall 2008. First time was brilliant: very clean, new furniture, decent breakfast, great bathroom (with a big bath). Our next stay was not so accommodating: dirty carpet, suspicious stains on sofa (we had Junior suit) and a tiny shower. We changed the room, which was really small with 2 separate beds standing by the wall. But it was considerably clean, had a bath, so we decided to stay. Pluses: cleaning ladies did their best. Breakfast was as good as it had been and there are some really friendly girls serving it. All in all: rooms are in need of a good face-lift :)

it was very difficult to find this hotel. we asked directions at the train station and nobody knew about it. i had e-mailed the hotel before i left and asked for directions, but they sent me driving directions. i replied that we were coming from the train station and needed directions on public transport and never heard back. once we were given instructions it was fairly easy. there is a tram stop right outside the hotel, but that's all that's around the hotel. there are no places to eat and there is no restaurant, they can order you pizza. the room was nice and the bathroom was great. no shower, just a hand held with a tub, but nice. breakfast was in the hotel and only ok, but no food after that. not sure if i'd recommend this hotel or stay again. staff was not great either. there were 2 nice young guys that tried to be helpful, but everyone else, not so much. no printer so we paid for internet service so couldn't check in for our flights because we couldn't print our boarding passes. convenient to tram stop and the castle is only one stop down.

stayed at the jeleni dvur for 3 nights in march. hotel is clean comfortable nice big rooms with everything you could need including an oddly set up mini bar! the hotel select various drinks chocolate biscuits crisps etc and put them in a basket on the table. you just help yourself and the maid checks what is missing! or in our case she didnt!!
breakfast is very average but edible.
we found the location was great, about 10 mins walk to the castle and from there down hill to the river. the hotel is on a tram route although if weather is good it is a pleasant walk down but coming back up is a killer!!!
overall a good hotel we would visit again and a beautiful city!!!

My partner and i stayed at this hotel in November for 6 nights. The hotel is around 15-20 mins from the airport, for which the staff at Jeleni arranged for us both ways, this cost 650 CZK. The hotel is perfectly situated by tram line so getting around prague was never a problem, it was quick, efficient and cheap. The hotel is very clean and tidy and the staff were freindly and helpful. The room was very comfortable and spacy with a nice bathroom....the underfloor heating in the bathroom was a nice touch, especially as it was freezing cold outside! The beatiful castle was only a short walk away, otherwise you would have to hop on the tram to go into prague center. The only dissappointing thing about the stay was the breakfast, there was only 2 hot items which were always frankfurter and pasta(not my idea of a breakfast), there was a selection of bread but no toaster, cold meats and a few cake like things along with muesli. However that aside, an enjoyable time was had in Prague and Jeleni!

My wife and I went to prague with our two sons aged 25 and 27 and our youngest sons fiance for a three night break to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.. As this was our second ever holiday outside the U.K. we only have British holidays and a Xmas trip to Cologne to compare it with.
The Hotel is clean, comfortable and the staff could not do more to help and to make your stay more enjoyable, the breakfast was excellent. The reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is the lack of air conditioning (third week in june) and the very convenient if slightly noisy tram stop outside the hotel due to having the windows open to stay cool at night.
Situated on the edge of the old town with a small parkland behind it makes it reasonably quiet, but still very easy to get to and from the city centre on the cheap and efficient tram service, the hotel is also within easy walking distance to the Strahov monastery and Prague Castle. If you go slightly out of the main tourist Charles bridge area food and water/coke/beer are much cheaper with some very good fixed menu 3 course meals for £6 or £7 while sitting outside looking over the river.
We all intend to return to Prague as the people in Prague made our stay so enjoyable and we did not need our phrase book as nearly everyone that we met spoke English also most of the menu's are in English. I should write a poor review to ensure that rooms will be available as I want to book into this hotel again but as mentioned above the minus points are very minor. The hotel has a fixed price taxi service to connect with the airport that I would recommend. I would suggest coming here to anyone wanting a family holiday.
