“Great stay in Prague”
Reviewed 14 July 2014 via mobile

Stayed here 4 nights with my wife a week ago. Great hotel overall. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and quiet with excellent air conditioning and wifi. Location was great for us as we like to walk. Probably a 15 minute walk to all of the main attractions other than the Prague Castle but we still walked there anyways. The hotel is located a few blocks away from a few Czech restaurants that we really liked and were very reasonably priced especially compared to the city center where all the tourists congregate. You can find 0.5 liter draft beers for $1.80 USD all over if you head east of the hotel. Hotel is also within walking distance of Andy's laundromat which is a great place to get laundry done if you're on a long trip. The breakfast buffet that the hotel offers was great and included scrambled and fried eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, fruit, cheeses, breads and croissants, coffee and multiple juices. Definitely kept us full til a late lunch. Some people have said that the location is in a seedy neighborhood but really it's just a few adult stores and some strip clubs. If that bothers you than maybe traveling isn't for you. We'd stay here again for sure and recommend it to others.

Stayed here on the last stop of a European vacation. It was by far the biggest room we had. The location is a little bit away from the major attractions but it's a short 10-20 minute walk to everything (in return the cost for the room was great). The metro/trams are easily accessible bit we hardly bothered with them since walking was not problem. There are some adult clubs and stores nearby but that was fine, pretty common in Prague anyway (may be a plus to you gents haha). Never experienced any shady characters - both me and my female friend walked by together and separate many times without issue. Very nice, clean, and comfortable. The AC worked great and the room stayed very comfortable. The breakfast had a lot of options and was very good (both hot and cold as well as an awesome automatic espresso machine). The wifi was free and reliable. The service was great and the staff was friendly. I had some laundry done and it was returned later that afternoon. They called a nice taxi (Benz) for us to get to the airport which was not very expensive. There is a great Czech place down the road called "U Pravdu" if you're looking for some great Czech food and friendly service. Two mini marts a stones throw from the hotel if you want to get some cheap snacks, food, beer, etc. Will definitely stay again! Want to go back to Prague for sure!

This was a nice comfortable hotel with warm people at the reception. Thanks for making us feel at home.

The location of the hotel is great. Wenceslas Square is a 5-7 mins walk from the hotel and every major place is easily walking distance if you are a fit person (that is what we did- Wenceslas Square, Old Town, Charles Bridge, The castle).

The breakfast was excellent- good spread of breads, juices, eggs, sausages, yogurt, corn flakes, fruits.
The rooms are comfortable but a little too small- but is manageable. The bathrooms were clean and nice. Though a small suggestion would be to keep conditioners as well along with the shampoo, shower gel and body lotion.
Also, front desk was really helpful. We had a UK and US adaptor but did not have a European one. Asked front desk and got it (without any deposit) within a few mins- Thanks :)

I would recommend this hotel to people visiting Prague for their comfort, warmth and friendliness.

What can I say, this hotel was an excellent value and I would highly recommend and be back when in Prague. Location, Wi fi, Customer Service all great. Very Clean air conditioned room with coffee and Tea .. Elevator if needed, Breakfast plenty choices including warm plates. The front desk staff went beyond good customer service, helping with reservations on tours, transport and luggage hold. The lobby area with Computers and a printer and Screen TV were also nice especially to watch World Cup. Location very good, just a few minute walk to the square. Recommend the Hop On, Hop off bus (not the red one), 48 hour use while in Prague...Great Value!

Room Tip: Close by only a few minute walk to Wenceslas Square

Absolutely loved everything about my stay in Archibald City. Location is perfect - in a fairly quiet area away from all the touristy madness, yet 10 min walk from both the main train station and 15 min to the old town attractions.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. Wifi is free and quick. Breakfast is moderate selection-wise, but definitely covers the basics and is tasty. Price is a bargain - I paid on average 40 euro per night.
I had a double room on the 4th floor (there are two elevators) - spacious, light, clean, functional, modern. It was facing an intersection yet closing the windows ensured all the noise stayed outside.
Overall, I was really impressed and enjoyed staying in Archibald city - will no doubt stay there again when in Prague and recommend it to others.

The location was very ideal in terms of walking distance from key places including Old Town, Charles Bridge.. also shopping and good eating options just a few blocks over on Wenceslas Square. Breakfast was also good, beds are decent and rooms are well, basic. Good if you are on a budget and plan on being away most of day!!

Room Tip: Some of the side streets may be a bit sketchy at night, stick to main roads if on foot, well known h...
