While there were no guides in the museum there was enough information for a an interested visitor.
The museum has 2 main themes - WW1 and WW2 each on each floor.
There are uniforms, rifles, medals, cannons and whatnot of almost any country which took part in the wars. Also there is enough written info (czech/english/german, i think) that tells the history of the wars and of course the part of the czech history in those times.
There also was a part that was dedicated to the Sokol movement - an gymnastics organization that played a major role in czech self identification and gaining independence after WW1.
Being a fan of sports and politics i was thrilled.

Also, the museum is located at a lower part of a hill, we walked up till its top after we were done in the museum to discover a beautiful monument and a great panorama on the city. It wasnt an easy walk up, but was well worth it.

Last thing, there was no entrance fee to the musuem.
Bottom line - if you're a fan of military history this place is well worth cheking out.

Exhibits in a museum are thoroughly presented so war fans can really enjoy. You can see what have the soldiers been using as an uniform, what kind of weaponry and all these tinny details they have been using for military operations. All military service branches are covered. Through this exhibition you can learn in which resistance movements were Czech soldiers participating during WWI and WWII. Notes are following and are covering chronological events during these wars and if you want to soak all the information up it would take you more than few hours. But you can always come back and resume where you have stopped previous time, because there is free entrance.

This museum really helped me understand the history of the Czech republic and it's situation in recent major conflicts. The exhibits are all labelled in English and there is so much information to read that you could easily spend 2 hours here. It is free of charge so you can come back if you don't have time to finish everything on your first visit.

You can take bus 207 from the Republic Square or you can walk from Florenc station. After visiting the museum, you can continue up the hill to the National Monument which is not only very interesting to see, but there are wonderful views from the top.

We saw the review on trip advisor so wanted to look and it was well worth it. Dating from WW1 and WW2. its has some really good displays and is laid out in chronological order so moves with you through time. The staff could not do enough for us and as it is free was really worth it. It is up a steep hill to get to the entrance if walking or transport but well worth it.

One of the few musea in Prague that is completely free of charge. Within walking distance from Florence metro station.
Spread over two floors, you see a lot of cannons, guns, uniforms. Taking pictures is allowed.
