This place is located in a quiet area of Prague but is easily accessible to city center by metro and tram. The place is clean, inexpensive with homely atmosphere. Mr Ota Janak and his friend are friendly, flexible and always available to help. Breakfast is available at your convenience. For an inexpensive stay in Prague, this is the best place and I strongly recommend it.

My brother and sister-in-law, Sue and myself were on a motorcycling trip to the Czech Republic, to take in the Brno MotoGP. Looking for motorcycle-friendly accommodation showed us this B&B. The GPS didn't recognise the house number, but I phoned Miroslav at the B&B, who rang me immediately with directions to this quaint, wonderful place. Miroslav and Ota, the owner, were genuinely welcoming. The facilities are very "Bohemian" and Miroslav had found Virgin Radio, which was playing to welcome us on our arrival! Food and drink was plentiful and there was a complimentary beer on arrival, which was just what we needed! Good food, a welcoming approach, comfortable beds and great prices mean we will be returning.

We stayed 5 nights at Ota's place and we were delighted by our stay.
We really felt at home in the house and enjoyed very much being able to use a fully furnished kitchen, a nice garden and even a small pool, wich was so relaxing after a hot day in the city. We were also invited by Miroslav and Ota to a barbecue, and during the week there were always eager to talk and exchange.
Breakfast was good, with home baked cakes.
After having spent 2 weeks travelling in Czech Republic, I would really insist on the fact that this B and B is a very good value and has a soul. I found most of the pensions and small hotels impersonnal and rather cold, not at Ota's place.
The only thing that scared us a little when we arrived is the immediate surroundings : the house is the only house on a very busy road between dilapidated factories. BUT as soon as you enter the front door, you have jazz music all over the house, and very good triple glazing on the windows so that you don't hear the road at all. Our room facing the garden had a nice Mucha decoration.

However, I would recommend arriving in the daylight, as it can be a bit scary if you arrive late.
When you know the place, it's really easy and fast to reach the city center. It's only 2 metro stops from Smichov (andel area), where you find nice restaurants and pubs, not so touristic as the old town.

We spent only three days with Ota and it was perfect! Great welcome after a long journey. Ota saved our lives offering some cold beer from the old Saratov fridge, where you always can take beer from paying when leaving. His house is a shelter close to the city center but leaving the rush behind. The subway is a 5-minute walk, and you can reach anything in a short time. Ota will provide you with cheap tickets for pulic transport, necessary information where to eat, what to see if you need help. The lovely old house is for those, who are not obsessed with modern hotels. Nice details, plants, garden with opportunities to enjoy your morning coffee there. Not to mention the swimming pool he bought this summer. It was great to cool yoourself after sightseeing in 35 degrees. The breakfast is substantial, and a real good opportunity to meet other guests to share experiences. There is always some music in the building, garden, everywhere. We enjoyed it, but it can be altered if you wish. Generally, you feel like at home. Some facts:You can pay in cz koronas or euro. If you want to make something special you can do it in the well-equipped kitchen. The rooms are clean and comfortable: check the photos. Go there to meeet people, and experience local things and you will enjoy your stay! We will return Ota, sooner or later. Wish you all the best. And: Miroslav's cake is awesome! Ildikó

We stayed there for a few days and found Ota, the owner, and his place simply great. It is not a 5-star hotel, but a rather unassuming place, with a very nice atmosphere. Breakfasts were very nice: a few varieties of bread, lots of varieties of good cheese, fruit juices, coffee, tee, youghurts, fruit, etc. - all you want. It's an easy-going place, with good music played even in the garden and bathrooms!
