“Not for couples who want to cuddle”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 June 2012

Location was good, beds were crap room was nice but a little dusty, fifth floor has the best rooms, lucky if your sheets are changed, pillows were horrible, tomas at reception was good and funny. Dont wake the night shift receptionists or u may get a dirty look, mentioning no names! Breakfast was poor. Instead, hit the globe bar around the corner.

The hotel is in a great location just out of the hustle and bustle of the Old Town. The staff are very friendly and always on hand to help. The room and the bathroom was nice apart from the shower was placed over the middle of the bath, which we thought was odd. I found the beds a bit firm, but my girlfriend was used to a firm bed so she thought it was nice. The breakfast was limited, however there is something for everyone, a choice of cereals, yoghurt, pastries and poached egg and sausage. There is a lovely local pub about 50 metres up the road called 'The Royal Cafe'. Good priced food and beer in a friendly environment. We would like to thank 'Martina' on reception for all her help. The staff also spoke good English as a whole. Overall we enjoyed Prague and this hotel in our opinion made the trip perfect.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel itself had friendly staff who spoke English well. The wifi worked well and was secure. The breakfast buffet was okay; it's your typical European breakfast except that they also have fried eggs. Each morning I ate fruit salad, cucumbers, and a few pastries. It wasn't the best breakfast ever but it wasn't the worse either.

The room itself was modern, efficient and clean. Our double bed was two twin beds next to each other; the beds and duvets were very comfortable. The curtains were thick and blocked out the light. There was a small mini bar in the room which we used to store our water. The bathroom is the real crowd pleaser - it is huge and modern and everything I thought European bathrooms were not. Two people could fit in the bathroom at the same time! My favorite thing about the room was the size and cleanliness. My least favorite thing about the room was the shower nozzle. It was an awkward shape so the water sprayed out funny. Yet the water was warm and the pressure was decent. A tall person would need to use the flexible bathtub nozzle/cord to shower but this was not an issue for us.

The hotel location is within walking distance of the Old Town, New Town, and river. It is a bit of a hike to get to the castle area and to the train but we were happy to trek around town. There is a pharmacy-type place and a grocery store (Tesco) within 5-10 minutes of the hotel as well. You do not need to use a key card to enter the building. Yet we felt fine because there was always someone at the front desk and the locks on the rooms are new and sturdy.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend. This is a GREAT deal for the price.

This is a real hotel that exceeds the 3-star rating as the room and bathroom are spacious enough with modern furnishing. The breakfast buffet offers plenty selections. The location, bordering the old town and new town districts, would require a bit of walking to public transportation but the area is safe at night. Overall this is a good, clean and comfortable hotel worth of the price, especially if you book it at a discounted rate.

This hotel is a 2-star masked as a 4-star hotel. Good for the location near Wenceslas Square and the vicinity to a tram station served by trams 14, 17 and 21, but very poor for everything else.

We got a room on level 5 initially, but we were forced to move out the next instant owing to the bad stench of woman's perfume and the short windows that allowed all the cold air outside to enter. The receptionist then kindly gave us a room on the 2nd floor, that was slightly better and we took it.

After a full day's walk on the streets of an exceptionally rainy and chilly Prague, I couldn't wait to jump into the bathtub, but I was a little astonished when I found that the water gushing from the faucet was brown in color.

Getting to sleep was a real nightmare in the night. There were double windows but one of the brass handles were broken and refused to hold tight. The bitter cold wind managed to pass through and circulate throughout the room even with the curtains shut, and it was impossible to sleep. The curtains themselves did not keep out all the lights in the top part, and as someone used to having complete darkness in the room during sleep, it irked me.

I read that the hotel has undergone a major renovation in the last few years, but many tiny details convince me otherwise. The windows especially should be changed, because in a cold city like Prague, it's so important to keep the rooms warm.

Breakfast was average and there were some flies around the uncovered sweet pastries.

This hotel could be better, really, with more attention towards the slight details.

Room Tip: don't take the 5th floor rooms. the windows are particularly short and unless you're extreme...
