“Prague Trip, 31 May - 4 June 2013”
Reviewed 5 June 2013

I was taking holidays in Czech Republic and stayed at Residence Masna from 31 May to 4 June 2013. Residence Masna is located in a quite street in Old Town Prague and is close to many activities, restaurants, bars, and cafes. The facility and furnishings are adequate. The staffs at prague-city-apartments.cz are friendly and responsive. I have been to Prague several times and I enjoyed my stay at Residence Masna the most. I am planning to return in July 2013.

If you are looking for reasonable accommodation at a reasonable price, Prague City Apartments delivers. The facilities were good and all requirements were met - indeed, they thought of everything. And the service itself and the staff were excellent - they do, indeed, seem to care about "doing it right". Recommended.

Convenient location within a few minutes walk to Old Town. Tram and metro stations, as well as mini market nearby.

Great service all around from the reservations team with prompt responses. We were delighted to find an already made crib and sofa bed for our girls upon arrival, esp needed after the long flights to Prague. Our private Airport pickup was complementary and drop off is 500CZK.

Apt is cleaned daily, and other conveniences include kitchen, refrigerator and washer inside the apt.

Highly recommend this place especially for families traveling with children.

My luggage was whisked to the apartment after I checked in, while I strolled there through the old town. The apartment is in an old block, clean and well maintained. It is spacious and well equipped. I had a problem with the TV and a broken lightbulb, both were fixed instantly. The room was comfortable and quiet. Prague City Apartments also arranged a transfer to the airport at a reasonable rate (21 EUR). My only negative point is that the room overlooked other apartments and was quite gloomy. Maybe a room at the front of the building would be better. I would definitely use Prague City Apartments again, the service was outstanding.

Room Tip: Maybe ask for a room at the front of the building where there is more natural light

We stayed in the Masna apartment block for just over one week. Overall, it was a very good apartment with just the right amount of facilities and located within easy reach of many top sites in Prague. I would recommend this option over and above a hotel room - especially if you enjoy the flexibility of being able to eat in when you want and to enjoy a little more space.

The building features modern electronic security on all doors. It seems to be a mix of residential flats and tourist accommodation. Families or couples were the typical groups so noise was not a problem. Even the nightclub down the street that some reviews have mentioned was not really noticeable. Certainly no sleep was disturbed here.

The actual apartment featured nice high ceilings, good storage, a comfortable bed, sofa, TV/DVD/Hi-Fi and well-equipped kitchenette. Although eating out in Prague is fairly cheap it was also nice to be able to have meals in and to have cold/hot drinks available. A daily cleaner keeps the rooms in good condition.

Best of all, the location is excellent. We did not once need to use public transport: only 5 minutes' walk from the old town square, the Jewish quarter, Rudolfinum concert hall and a few more to the other side of the river or Wenceslas Square. There are also many restaurants and shops in the immediate area, from expensive bars/clubs to take-aways. There is a sushi restaurant immediately next door (did not eat there but it looked nice!). After a long day's walking it was so nice to be able to get back to a place that felt more like home than a pokey little hotel room. A couple of cold Czech beers in the fridge also helped....

Finally, the Prague City Apartments team were great to deal with. The office offers 24-hour service, they responded quickly to e-mails, arranged transport to and from the airport (one trip is complementary) and spoke excellent English. I would definitely recommend them, and this apartment in particular, to anyone wanting to enjoy the fantastic city of Prague.

For me any city stay over a day or two warrants an apartment. It's so nice at the end of a day or afternoon sight-seeing to have a "home" to return to; a cup of tea, a chance for a snack or to sit in front of the TV or computer for a bit. We only stayed in the studio, but the size was perfect. Although one long room, there was a sense of partial division between the entrance/kitchen/dining table with four chairs, and then a second area with bed, two-seater sofa, coffee table and TV/DVD.
The apartment also had a separate small room with cupboards, before entry to the very spacious and clean bathroom. The storage room was great for putting away clothes and suitcases and for putting out clothes on the drying rack after use of the washing machine in the middle of the week.
The main room featured two windows/french doors that opened and wooden floor boards. The kitchen was well equipped considering that the food in Prague was so great and for main meals we ate out. As well as the microwave, toaster and kettle there was a four burner stove, so you could prepare meals if you wanted to. It's not 5 star luxury necessarily, but the bed was comfortable, the furniture sufficiently solid; it was clean and with the high ceilings and lay out it felt very roomy and very pleasant. The location is a huge plus - the immediate area is great for restaurants and almost any direction/destination we decided to head off towards in the morning was easily accessible. We found it quiet; one reviewer did comment on a faint "boof-boof" from a nearby club or bar on weekends but it was pretty faint and didn't affect our sleep. The airport pick-up and delivery service was excellent. Overall definitely recommend these apartments and would return.

My three-month winter stay (mid-Jan to mid-Apr 2013) provided ample opportunity to experience the apartment's good qualities (overwhelming) and its (minor) negatives. I hope to return soon and can recommend this apartment and its management to prospective guests. You will be well-received, well-treated, and well-entertained no matter how short or long your stay.

Location is everything here, though the reasonable price for a fully furnished one-bedroom in Old Town certainly doesn't hurt. Out the front door a two minute stroll along cobblestone streets brings you to the wonderful town square. A few minutes in the other direction lands you at a modern 200-store mall and a tram stop (four lines). Restaurants, bars, shopping, and entertainment venues abound just outside the front door. Management and staff are exceptional – my few issues were addressed courteously, quickly and favorably. The housekeeping service was considerate and thorough.

This fifth-floor flat (#503) faces Masna, with an eye-pleasing side view of Tyn Church & St. James Basilica, with the Powder Tower peeking just behind. Light pours in from the living and bedroom windows. A narrow balcony (with a waist-high solid balustrade) runs the length of the flat, with access from both rooms. There is room for chairs to enjoy morning coffee.

Furnishings are agreeable (IKEA mid-range), though sparse in the entry hall and bedroom. The somewhat thin mattress is showing age, and an upgrade would be a guest-friendly improvement. In any event, a mattress cover would be useful to preserve both mattress and guest. The living room sofa converts to a double bed. Unless you are a Bloomberg Europe fanatic, the 32-inch flat screen TV is virtually useless to English speakers despite over 1000 satellite channels. Most are Arabic, though some German, Italian, Spanish and other languages also are broadcast. There is a DVD/radio player. The Wi-Fi signal was excellent.

The kitchenette makes good use of space, though storage is necessarily limited: four-burner gas hob; no oven; pots and pans well worn and of the inexpensive variety; compact fridge; older but serviceable microwave; built-in washer (no dryer, but a collapsible drying rack is stored in the hall along with an iron and ironing board). The small dining table seats four. The hot water heating system kept the flat comfortably warm during my winter stay. The boiler unexpectedly shut down three times over that period, but a phone call brought someone immediately for an easy reset. There is no air-conditioning, but a fan is provided.

Street noise from traffic is moderate during weekday working hours, fading to virtually nothing during sleeping hours. Weekends are quieter for traffic noise. Conversely, a nearby nightclub provides a muffled thumping serenade to the wee hours on weekends and occasionally on weekdays that might disturb light sleepers. The fifth-floor location and the solid balustrade serve as buffers, but the sound nonetheless carries in the still of the night.
