I booked through Expedia for my partners 40th. I have to say, we were both very impressed- the hotel itself is immaculate, very cosy, but with all the facilities you would want. we had a room in the basement which was so peaceful and quiet and very comfortable too.
The location is near to St Vitus Cathedral etc, although technically out of the main centre of Prague, and this is perfect if you want everything to be on your doorstep, but away from noise & stag nights- Charles bridge is walking distance, as is the metro and many, and the part of town Appia Residences is in is well placed for restaurants and old style streets & buildings.
the staff couldn't have been friendlier nor more helpful, and the service is excellent.
The breakfast buffet is delicious with lots of choice, and all served up in the attic, which is a sight worth seeing in itself.
I can'r recommend this hotel enough & we have already decided to revisit Prague & stay at Appia when we do.

Excellent location (easy walking distance to Prague Castle and Charles Bridge); large, comfortable room, immaculately clean; lower level rooms have outside terrace (but no view); breakfast excellent, in a nice attic setting; staff helpful. Price (at reduced rate) a good deal for Prague, given the quality of the hotel and location. If driving, somewhat difficult to find and access (narrow streets). Parking VERY expensive if leaving a vehicle (31 euros/day). Hint on finding the hotel - directly up the small Sporkova street from the German Embassy.

Got a nice spacious room with a big bed and clean bathroom. Breakfast buffet had good choices and was well attended. Location of the hotel as previously stated is awesome, can easily walk to the old town or castle with shops and restaurants all around, all while still being in a quiet location so you can get a good nights sleep.

One gripe I do have is that the "taxi driver" the hotel called for us when we we checked out was twice as expensive as it should have been (he told us 400 CK to the main train station, if you walk down the street to the taxi stand it's 200 CK).

DON'T get in any taxi in Prague without negotiating a price first, they WILL try to gouge you!

Picturesque location a short walk from major attractions, but away from the noise noted by people we met who stayed in the center of Old Town. The hotel's main structure dates to about 1300, and the heavy, dark roof beams showing in the top floor breakfast room showed the medieval frame. The room was big, the breakfasts were hearty, and the service was terrific. The desk clerk wouldn't give up finding me an electrical cord that would work on Czech power to make my sleep-apnea machine go. There are only 20 rooms in the hotel. A public computer is available. Prague is incredible! We walked maybe 10 miles a day to explore, and wherever we went we experienced sights, sidewalk cafes, shops, buildings, and it was 70 degrees, dry, and sunny all week. The hotel price, by the way, was great for a weekly rate. We paid about $820 for seven nights. The daily rate if you stay just a couple of days is much more. Just one flaw: There was no air conditioning. It wasn't bad at the end of September, but I don't know if they distribute fans for mid-summer.

Room Tip: If you travel during a hot time of year, ask if they have a room with air conditioning, or if they have a fan. Also, make sure you bring the correct converter plug. We had one with the two round prongs the web said is necessary, but it didn't fit. The hotel clerk wouldn't rest until he found something to do the job for us.
