Owner description: Reduta is legendary cultural place in the centre of Prague. It was established in 1958 and nowadays is connecting traditional jazz roots with new wave music. The number of famous musicians and persons have played or spent night in here – namely Wynton Marsalis, Chris Barber, Ronnie Scott or Bill Clinton (who as an amateur (tenor) sax player in 1994 actively participated in the traditional jamm session), Madeleine Albright, Václav Havel. Even Reduta is famous especially as jazz club, there are periodical shows of black light theatre from excellent author J. Srnec and pantomime. Randomly you can visit variety of theatre shows or just come to enjoy drinks at Saxophone bar! See you soon!

I purchased tickets online in advance of our trip to Prague to see the Lukas Oravec Quartet with Radovan Tariska on saxophone as a feature addition or guest star. We wanted to see some Czech musicians perform. Our online ticket purchase through Prague ticket office was very smooth and I was able to pay for the tickets using PayPal so no worries. We got there, our name was on the reservation list and we were shown to our reserved table right up front, NICE! The bar has a large selection of alcoholic beverages and of course good beer on tap, a dark and here they also had Budvar, cousin to Budweiser but much tastier. Do not be thrown when you first enter, you have to go down a hallway which also leads to a rock/dj club which is very smokey but no fear, you will continue downstairs and find yourself in a smoke free and clean area. The sound here is pretty good, the seats we had were great but due to the long and narrow length of the room, some of the tables and booths are oriented lengthwise from the stage. But still all in all good seats for everybody. Not a huge room but cozy and comfortable. If you want something to do one night while in Prague, check out who is playing here and pick a concert to come to. Don't be nervous or uneasy, this place is legit and you will be glad you were here to sample some local culture. I would recommend you buy your tickets in advance online as we did as the place was probably sold out, there were a few reserved seats that were empty but all of the open ones were taken. The Quintet by the way were quite good and I would go to see them again. Go ahead and try this place, it is fun and safe and you will have a good time! We had a great time here.

Poor atmosphere and performance, but I guess it depends on the band/artist performing. Double check if the band is really worth paying for a quite expensive entrance fee.

We visited this club in April and saw performance with Kaunis Five. We had possibility to see and hear five great musicians in nice ambience in the center of Prague. We reccomend this place to all, who love good music and want to enjoy their stay in this city.

We were fortunate to get in last minute for a Saturday night performance featuring South African artist Melanie Scholtz (who has appeared there a number of times). Arrangements were made by Magdalena at the Hotel Residence Agnes. She set up everything so when we arrived at the Reduta, our tickets were waiting, we had reserved seats, and we each were given a complimentary drink!

Other reviewers are correct in that some of the seats are in odd positions. Ask ahead of time about your seats if given the chance. However, any seat in this intimate setting is better than none.

Having visited Prague many times and enjoyed numerous jazz clubs we were fortunate enough to discover this gem on our recent trip. Fantastic band (Latin Wave - definitely recommend seeing if you get the chance), we loved the layout of the place, the decor and heh it was good enough for Bill Clinton :) Bar prices reasonable for location and did not find particularly more expensive than other jazz clubs for admission.
