“Great value, great location.”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

We stayed here in early December. A really nice hotel in a great location: just 20 minutes walk to Wenceslas Square and about 30 minutes walk to the Old Town Square. There are trams which stop just around the corner and two metro stations within 5 minutes walking distance.
We were amazed to have a really lovely and large room: we had a small living area with two sofas, dining table and a small kitchenette. We didn't do any cooking but could easily have done so if we were so inclined! The room was very quiet and we slept very well.
We are vegans and were very happy to find two vegan restaurants in neighbouring streets.
There are supermarkets and mini-markets nearby.
The staff were very helpful and professional. We didn't get up for breakfast; preferring to have coffee in our room and take the days gently without too much rushing around first thing! We will certainly stay here again and have recommended it to friends and family.

We have just returned from a long weekend break in Prague to take in the Christmas markets. This hotel was just perfect. We had a lovely room in the newer part of the hotel (Room 411) which was very comfortable, warm and spacious. Although the trams run right outside the hotel, we were not disturbed in the slightest. Breakfast was really good too, although, as per some previous comments, some of the hot food was only cool but that certainly didn't cause a problem, it was still very tasty, with lots of choice of continental, cooked, fruits and cereals. All the staff were friendly, polite and very helpful. Hotel is about 10-15 minute walk from Wenceslas Square and a further 10-15 min walk to Old Town Square which was beautiful at this time of year with lots of stalls. Bars and restaurants everywhere but be warned that, as like any other city, prices increase greatly in the centre. There are a couple of bars and restaurants in same street as hotel if you just fancy staying local. U Webru is a cracking little bar with good food and a great choice of beer (and the Czech's certainly know how to brew great beer!!). One negative thing I would say is that smoking has not been banned in bars yet and we found some of the bars too smoky and didn't stay. Overall, I would definitely stay here again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend to family and friends.

Room Tip: Room 411 (double) was lovely room.

We stayed here in December as a short break, whilst there were many reviews about the hotel you can never be sure until you stay there.
This hotel was just outside the old town but only 20 minutes walk into the centre of the old town, location was excellent.
The staff were brilliant and the breakfast was good.
Our room was huge and very nice, we would definitely stay here again.
The only downside was that our room was by the road where the tram ran and it was noisy after 6am

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the road where the tram runs

This was part of 'package' from Citrus Holidays(useless liars!) via Travelzoo and we were placed here, as the original 'deal' hotel was full. So glad it was, Marco was so welcoming and gracious. For some reason, Citrus had got us a room with two singles, Marco, in a flash, changed this to an apartment with no extra charge. Wonderful. Wifi available in rooms, bed very comfortable and warm and so much room. Tram service was a stone's throw, restaurants everywhere(a Prague theme, as we discovered) or a nice walk down to Wenceslas square etc. A must would have to be the duck in Deminka restaurant, just down the hill. loose fitting trousers a must. For anyone who uses Travelzoo, avoid Citrus Holidays like the plague. Basically lied about changing flight prices, tried to put us on one that landed at 21:30! and then said it was £50 extra each to move to morning flight on a Sunday. Was actually cheaper than the original flight!

Marco! The perfect gentleman met us with a huge smile! Nothing was too much trouble for Marco, he helped with every enquiry we had. He helped us with maps, sorted the airport transport, everything was excellent. We will definitely be returning to Prague and would stay again at the Hotel Galileo. the rooms were absolutely spotless and the breakfast on the top floor was a bonus. Keep up the good work Marco - you were brilliant. And if you were the face of Prague - everyone would visit your beautiful city.

Room Tip: 4th Floor - on arrival Marco just said that we had been upgraded - how chuffed were we!!
