Turned up at this hotel with our land rover and found no where to park. After many hours driving we had wine and fruit waiting in our room. The room was a great size and check in was easy. HOWEVER they could not provide us with parking so we could not enjoy our arrival. Instead we spent over 2 hours driving around the city trying to park! Everywhere is residential parking or limited pay and display. In the end a local company offered us a space off the road. The staff at the hotel gave no solutions.

If you have a car over 1m 80cm in height do not come here. If you have a car under 180cm you will need to pay 20 euros per 24 hours at a neighbouring car park (10 mins walk away from the hotel!)

We stayed here for 3 nights in August and had a wonderful time. We booked on the hotel's website, and got a reasonable rate (breakfast is included). The room was standard US size, beautifully decorated (nice tile floor) and was comfortable and air conditioned. The tv was quite small, but we didn't use it much. There is a computer with internet in the lobby area that guests can use.
Breakfast was quite good, with lots to choose from (cereal, yogurt, bread, cheese, eggs, sausages, beans, coffee, tea, juice, fresh fruit...). We bought bottled water daily at a small grocery store around the corner (Z mart i think - quite cheap compared to the Tesco's close to IP Pavlova).
The hotel is in the Vinorahdy district, and is about a 5 min walk to both IP Pavlova station (red line), Namesti Miru station (green line - goes to Dejvicka station for connection to 119 bus to the airport), and Tram #22 that goes to Prague Castle, so transportation is convenient. It's also quite easy to walk to Wenceslas Sq (~ 15 mins away).
They offer free walking tours with their partner hotels. We were interested, but weren't able to take it since the English version is offered on days we weren't there.
Great hotel, nice neighbourhood, great location. I definitely recommend staying here.

In July 2009 I stayed in Hotel Galileo with a friend for four nights. It's located in a nice neighbourhood, close to the city center. The breakfast is great, the room was spacious and very clean. Unfortunately I forgot to take my jacket (left it in the closet). I called the hotel when I got home and they send it back to me! Yesterday I received it back! I really appreciate that! Thank you so much again Hotel Galileo! Excellent service!

We were a couple of seniors on a self-arranged tour of three countries in Europe in May 2009.
It was the first time I had used TRIP ADVISOR and what a find that is!
I made rez at all our hotels through TA, after perusing the reviews carefully, and was not disappointed in a single one.
Hotel Galileo was our fist stop. Our room was great and the desk staff fit the top category anywhere in the world. Marco and Josef, thanks for all the help and patience.
They gave us directions with endless patience, told us how to save money, how to use the underground, how to get the best sightseeing done in Prague. It is the only hotel in the world that has told me how to save money!
The Underground is two blocks away and the main railway station two stops from ours.
Our room was large and clean, the breakfast (included) plenty and fresh.
We asked for a non-smoking room, on a non-smoking floor and got just that...the free Internet was another plus for us. There is no restaurant in the hotel but there are some within walking distance and Marco always helped my husband finding a place for a take-out meal/pizza.
Hope we get a chance to return to Prague and the Galileo

I selected this hotel on the basis of other good reviews, but found that for me, it did not live up to the standards I was hoping for. Firstly, the room - in a word it was small. In several words it was compact, tight, cramped. The "king size" bed advertised with the booking was two single beds placed together and made up separately. The beds and the side tables dominated the entire "space" - one of the doors to the wardrobe had been removed (as you wouldn't have been able to open it otherwise), and the suitcase table was also too big for its position and jutted out of the corner it was squeezed into behind the door. The TV was tiny, and CNN was the only English speaking channel available. The bathroom was also very cramped, with room for one at a time only. Overall the room wasn't very clean either with the upper shelves of the wardrobe being covered in dust - clearly out of reach of the cleaner. There were no tea or coffee facilities in the room, though according to the in-room information pack was available upon request. However, when requested, the front desk claimed to only have the one kettle available which was already taken! The hotel is in a quiet location, and the double glazing does a good job of keeping any street noise out. However, the noise inside the hotel was another matter - the tiled floorings on the stairs and corridors amplified all the noise of people entering and leaving their rooms and the heavy (automatic) front door made an annoyingly loud groan each time it opened. Breakfast was average, and I have seen and tasted much better in similar types of hotels - the hot (ie. luke warm) option of franks, beans and a odd version of scrambled eggs was not of great quality. On a positive note, there was wireless wi-fi available in the room, and an in-room safe for storing valuables. I have given a 3-star rating, but only just.

Booked the hotel based on reviews on Trip Advisor.

It took just under 1 hour from Prague Airport to the Hotel. It is 5 mins walk from Namesti Miru Metro Station. This on the same Metro line that the bus from the Airport drops you off on at Dejvicka Metro Station.

The room was clean and comfortable and reasonable furnished though slightly on the small side.

All the staf we dealt with where very helpful

There are lots of good inexpensive restauraunts in the surrounding area.

We would stay at the hotel again.
