“Ideal Location”
Reviewed 30 November 2013 via mobile

A beautiful ideal located value for money hotel. This hotel is situated outside the main tourist area but near enough to avoid high prices and high volume of people with a 5 stop easy tram ride to main area. Receptionist will help you out with tickets. The breakfast is of a high standard for b&b with a variety of foods on offer with a good selection of coffee which you do not always see. We had an attic room which was cosy and very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Attic rooms should be avoided if less mobile or elderly as the very low apex ceiling area is difficult as there is a lot of ducking and diving!! We were fine. Ask receptionist for local restaurants to eat out and the ones they recommend offer 10% discount off the bill.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to family n friends.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of November - very nice place, from the outside it looks very unassuming but very elegant inside. We upgraded to a superior room for 10 euros extra a night - nice big room, comfy bed, nice bathroom and very quiet. Breakfast was included in our rate - every day there was something different in the hot section - eggs, beans, sausages, pasta (?!), porridge and also the usual meats, bread, cereal in the cold section. This hotel is quite a walk from the main town centre as we found on our first night when we got hopelessly lost for a couple of hours - hehe but after that we ended up using the trams to get to the main part of town.

King Charles Boutique Hotel is situated beside the Vysehrad Castle were we stayed for two weeks. This hotel was not far from most of the sites in Prague maybe a half an hour walk. The hotel was nicely decorated and the employees welcomed us daily with either a good morning of hello. Breakfast was include and this was a nice start to the day. There was a tea kettle in the room with a good variety of teas for you to enjoy and a free coffee machine in the lobby. The marble washroom had a heated towel rack perfect. Just a short walk to Vltava river on Saturdays they set up a shopper's bazaar with a variety of local cuisines and some locally made items. I would stay at this hotel again.

King Charles Boutique Hotel Residence is a charming hotel in Prague. It is situated in the southern part of the New Town and close to a couple of tram stops. You only have to take the tram 4 stops north before you are in the touristy part of Prague. The front desk service was very pleasant, accommodating, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We were welcomed with a smile and a Czech aperitif. Breakfast was included with the room charge and was a satisfying buffet-style meal. There is an excellent restaurant located just behind the hotel that was recommended to us by the front desk staff.

We stayed in a room with a private bath, which was nice and clean AND MARBLE! Fancy. The bathtub looked to be a jacuzzi, but the jets didn't work. However, I still rate this hotel as "Excellent". They provided a very good hair dryer, which I think is much more important than a working jacuzzi.

The noise level heard through the windows from the street is very minimal, even with the S bahn trains whizzing by. Noises from inside the hotel were also extremely minimal. Perfect for a light sleeper! The beds were comfy and warm. The room itself was very big for European standards and included a wardrobe, desk, tea pot with tea, TV, mini bar, sitting chair and stool.

I have stayed in a 5-star hotel in Prague before and the service at King Charles Boutique matches, if not exceeds, what I received at the 5-star place. AMAZING. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Our room faced the train tracks and we couldn't hear noise from outside, so I think any room in...

My girlfriend and I booked a last minute 4-night break to prague and didn't have a fortune to spend, we ended up staying at the King Charles Boutique. We were both impressed with our room, big comfy bed and very nice decor. We looked out over a busy train line but once the window was closed it didn't bother us at all. The room was also very nice and warm which was welcome as it was very cold being November. And the bathroom!! It was one of the nicest bathrooms I've ever been in. Black marble wall and floor tiles, Bath with a built-in jacuzzi and all lovely and clean. Breakfast was also very good, a big variety of hot and cold food. All in all a lovely place to stay. However, it is a fair way from the centre of town and just too far to walk home to at night. This was a real shame as we had to cut short our nights out just to catch the last tram home and for this reason, as a young couple who like to stay out a little later on our holidays, we wouldn't go back. But this is not a reflection on the hotel at all. If you don't mind being back in your room by half 11 I really recommend this hotel.

Please allow me to add some information regarding transport system: Prague has 24 hours public transport. After midnight you can easily use night trams and buses with the same tickets. Our night trams are 53 and 55 which go to the same tram stops "Albertov" or "Ostrcilovo Namesti".

Thank you again and we will be more than happy to welcome you during your next trip to Prague!

I only had 2 nights in Prague (should have stayed longer) but I was very happy with this hotel. Communication was excellent from the time I booked (2 months in advance) and I was glad to accept the use of a hire car (taxi) from the train station to the hotel (15 Euro). The young lady at reception (sorry I didn't get her name) was very helpful and efficient with good English. When I had to go out in the evening to get Czech Crowns she gave me details of tram route and where to find ATM's. She also suggested dining places near the hotel. The room was large and very comfortable on the 3rd level towards the rear of the building. No view but no train and traffic noise that you might get from a front room. Excellent bathroom, lots of towels, heated towel rack (great for drying clothes when doing laundry while travelling) and good toiletries. Bed was firm but comfortable. I had a king size bed which is two single beds pushed together. Not a problem for me as a single but might disappoint couples as each bed had own linen and duvet. Breakfast offered a substantial range including fruit (fresh and canned), cereal, yoghurt, breads, cakes, cold meat, cheese, and even some hot dishes - baked beans one morning, fried eggs and cooked sausages the next. The coffee was pretty bad, but there was a wide range of teas. Tea also available with kettle in your room.
Short walk to tram stop (24) which takes you into Wenceslas Square so very handy. Prague's main tourist attractions are easily walkable from there. Some good restaurants close to the hotel but some smaller places are very smoky. Passive smoking hasn't reached Prague yet.

I stayed there in August and really enjoyed it. The staff was very helpful and courteous, the breakfast was good. Location is not great for sightseeing but it is very close to the convention centre where I had a meeting to attend. It's also close to the castle for those that want to go explore it. The public transportation is very convenient. I was able to go for a run so running it's about 5 min from the river and if running by the river it will be another 15 min to get to Charles bridge. The room was kind of small, as well as the bathroom but it was just fine and the neighborhood was kind of quaint.
